Chapter Thirty-OneBeverly Phillips was surprised to hear the buzzer to her apartment sound. She didn't get many visitors and she wasn't expecting anyone. “Yes,” she said. “May I come in, please?” “Who is it? “You don't know me, but it's very important. When she looked through the peephole, she saw an unremarkable, unimposing white woman who appeared to be in her late forties or early fifties.
