CHAPTER SIXTY He answered his phone. ‘John Franklin.’ Silence. Then, ‘Detective Franklin?’ ‘Yes?’ ‘Stephen Murray. Alec’s father.’ The words held a tremble. ‘Thanks for calling.’ Franklin added his condolences. This gap stretched longer. Was he crying? ‘Sorry for the delay.
