Just Tonight (Book 1)

Regina was a quiet person always had to have pride in everything she done, having had to look after herself since she was 16 when both her parents died in a car accident she had worked hard to make them proud of her, even if that meant that she would live a life without love then so be it who needed love when you could have a career and power. On first moving to Storybrooke from NewYork 6 months ago she had come here in search of a less stressful and hectic lifestyle, Regina had remembered this place many years ago as a child when she would vacation here with her parents to see her mothers best friend Eva and her daughter Mary whom Regina had gotten right back into friendship with when she moved back here after over a 20 year absence she was still getting to know Mary again and her husband David who she thought was as sickeningly sweet as Mary were perfect for each other and they also had a daughter Emma but Regina has yet to meet this Emma Nolan as she is overseas with the armed forces. She has only even seen pictures of a young Emma in Mary's house and not wanting to pry on why they didn't have more recent pictures around of her Regina just never mentioned it even as odd as she found it to be. As it was nearing thanksgiving and Regina was getting the townspeople to organise the annual thanksgiving events she had just about had enough of Leroy and others telling what the last mayor done in the past Regina was not one to be told what to do or one to stay to long on such matters as thanksgiving events after this she would have Christmas to organise events and then town meetings making sure all budgets are accounted for and it was beginning to drain her so on her lunch she decided to look up some hotels for a nice night away maybe even an overnight at a spa would help scrolling through her computer hotel after hotel nothing catching her eye until she saw one in Boston "hmm not to far away and 5 star with a spa right central to anything I need perhaps even a small spot of shopping while I'm there"she thought to herself . (Later that day) "Regina are you sure you don't want me to come too?,I mean we could go to the spa go for dinner ohhhhh even some shopping we could make it a girly day out just the two of us?!)Mary said a bit over the top happy as much as Regina loved her friend she need stress free time and that wouldn't include having her friends being over eccentric about a girly break. "Uhmmm Mary as much as I would love something like that with you any other time I just,.i really just need time on my own, with all the stresses of running this town and day to day things I feel a little me time is in order, I do hope I'm not offending you dear"Regina said in a sad low voice, "oh of course yes silly me I could imagine all the stress especially with the thanksgiving parade and then Christmas just around the corner , aww well then I hope you go and maybe go out and try to have a bit of fun (smiles widely) and you never know you could happen to meet the one (squealing and hugging Regina) oh I can just see it now "Stop....Mary (sighs) look I'm sorry dear but I don't do love or the one or any of that nonsense I am simply going away to relax and rid myself of stress not try add more to my life!." "Ok but if you do Regina I want to hear all about it ok"(smiling)Mary can't help but have a feeling about Regina she just needed to open herself up to let love in. "Wouldn't it be great you could meet the one and you and he could fall hopelessly in love and get married have babies oh it would be wonderful and you could have your happy ending like I have found with my very own Prince Charming (giggling)just think Regina" Mary barely able to contain her excitement then face fell when she seen the look on Regina's face "oh did I say something wrong Regina you look upset" "oh no nothing dear but Mary just so you know a man will never bey happy ending thank you very much" smiling Mary held Regina's hand "or woman doesn't matter love is love Regina" "yeah well either way that is not what I am looking for a nice quiet night away stress free is all that will be happening with me dear" with a small hug to her friend Regina left the loft to head to her manor to pack for her trip to Boston.
