"Oh my gosh!"
I slowly opened my eyes and lazily tilted my head to my side when I heard her familiar voice.
She's finally awake.
She gazed at me incredulously, mouth agape. Her hands were folded across her chest, clutching the comforter in place.
Psh! As if she has a big breast.
"W-What did you do to me? Where am I? Why are we next to each other?" she asked one after the other.
I didn't answer her. I slowly got up and left the bed. I overheard her exaggerated gasp after doing it.
I lazily turned my gaze toward her, finding her eyes wide open as though she had just witnessed a ghost or some terrifying sight before her.
"W-Why are you only wearing boxers?"
I couldn't stop raising my eyebrows, and then I slowly ran my fingers through my hair. She's acting again.
"You are aware that I am sleeping in this way, Irrah," I said coldly.
You can't fool me again.
Her jaw dropped. She blinked a few more times while staring at me. Then her mouth slowly opened to speak.
"You know me?" she asked.
I gritted my teeth. "Obviously."
At first, she seemed uncertain about how it happened. She finally merely nodded nonetheless after a brief moment.
"Yeah, Irrah. Only a few people don't know you," I heard her mumble to herself.
I ignored her and made my way to the walk-in closet. There, I selected a modest v-neck shirt and donned it. As I did so, her presence weighed on my mind.
"You saved me, right? Thank you, by the way," she said in a low-pitched voice.
I smirked and stared at her, emotionless. "I didn't."
Her brow furrowed in surprise.
"I abducted you. You are in my mansion, woman," I stated, which made her jaw drop for the second time.
Last night, I decided to call a chopper and go to my place. Of course, I brought her with me. She can't escape from me.
"W-What?" Her face gradually turned pale, maybe because she knew that I was not joking.
"Where's the crest?" I asked instead of answering her question.
"C-Crest?" She looked puzzled.
I sighed and walked towards the bedside table. I opened the drawer and took out my gun, then I aimed it at her.
"Should I repeat it again?"
Fear automatically consumed her. "I-I don't know what y-you are talking about, sir."
"Do you think you can fool me again?" My voice carried a clear warning.
She repeatedly shook her head as tears surrounded both her eyes. "I-I am not lying. Believe me, I really don't k-know what you're talking about."
"You stole it. You know where it is, woman."
She shook her head one more time. "I didn't steal anything. I won't do that; I can't do tha—" Her words were cut off and followed by her loud shriek when I almost hit her after shooting my gun.
I meant not to hit her. As much as I wanted to kill her right now, I couldn't do it. I need to find our crest.
"Enough with your act, Irrah. Tell me where the fvck it is," I said, a little bit irritated.
Her body trembled in fear. Her tears fell one after the other on her cheeks.
"I-I will tell you, but y-you need to set me free first," she tried hard to say.
I smiled coldly, then slowly walked the distance between us. I could clearly see the shock, nervousness, and fear in her eyes.
As she should.
"I am not that stupid, woman. You will be locked up here and remain in my sight until you give me what I want," I said it slowly, emphasizing each word.
Even though she was afraid, she dared to meet my eyes. "Why are you doing this to me?" she asked, tears still streaming down her cheeks.
I clenched my jaw as I stared back at her. If I were still the man I was years ago, she might have fooled me again. I looked at her innocent-acting face and smirked.
"You know my reasons, Irrah."
"Is it money? My family can pay you. Just let me go," she said.
There she goes again with her acting.
I slowly pulled away and stood casually in front of her. "I am richer than your family. You know that."
"I don't know you perfectly! I don't even know you! Is that so hard to understand?" she frustratedly burst out and started sobbing.
I didn't speak and just watched her cry.
"I don't know anything . . . I don't know what you're saying or what you're looking for. Everything! For God's sake, why am I a thief if my family is rich? I could buy anything I want!"
I tightened my hold on my gun when she looked at me with her pleading eyes. "Please... let me go. I will do everything; I will not report this. Just please... let me go, Mister."
We stared at each other for a few seconds. She was begging while I was looking at her emotionlessly. I have several scenarios in mind.
"I will never set you free, woman. Keep this in your mind . . ." I eyed her darkly. "You'll pay for everything you've done." And then I turned my back and left her alone in my room.
You'll experience hell in my own hands.
I descended the grand staircase of the mansion, making my way to the living area. Along the journey, I encountered some of my scattered men, each acknowledging me with a respectful nod. Settling onto the plush six-seater couch, I indulged in a cigarette, taking several puffs before reaching out to summon Claudio.
"Get some information about her, her family, their businesses, everything," I simply ordered.
"Copy, my lord," he replied.
I took another puff on my cigarette before stubbing it out on the crystal ashtray in front of me.
I know a lot about her, but it's all based on her stories when we were still together. I don't know if all of that was true or if she just made it up to win me over. To enter my world and do her betrayal.
I gritted my teeth when my mind went back to those memories. I just took a deep breath and chose to put away my thoughts.
"Send her food upstairs as well. Make sure that girl can't escape from the mansion or I'll kill you all. Capisci?" I looked at them closely afterwards. (Do you understand?)
I saw him swallow hard before nodding.
"Go," I dismissed and picked out a cigarette one more time.
Irrah . . . be ready to face my wrath.
