AIDEN JORDAN POV
I was back in my favorite spot, sitting on the highest rock in the dark cavern and watching the waves from the ocean pass by, clashing and splashing with high currents.
In my hands were three small stones and a sunflower.
The three stones signified three deaths while the flower signified hope and love.
It had been over ten years since I had begun this ritual which occurred every last day of the month. Ever since that night when I had lost my mother, my friend and my pet i never missed this tradition of tossing three stones in the water and watching them wash away.
It brought peace to my heart and hope that they were in a better place and that they were at peace and they were happy wherever they were.
As for the flower, that was a new thing. It began last month after I had gotten a very realistic dream where I saw an Angel in the form of a girl, stuck in between rocks.
She had bruises and cuts all over so I had assisted her but then when she had finally passed through, the rocks had come falling down upon me.
Ever since then, I had had similar dreams but after what happened today, I decided to bring in a golden yellow daffodil flower which meant rebirth and new beginnings.
Whenever I closed my eyes, a striking image of her emerged in my mind and those icy eyes of hers haunted me.
I threw the stones one by one and then in the same manner, I threw in the flower and watched the current carry it away, through piles of rocks until it was out of sight.
Cool breeze from the sea blew past my hair which slightly grazed my shoulders, bringing calmness and peace to my mind.
I wanted to feel bad but I couldn’t help the excitement in my mind. I wanted to remember how I had been shamed and denied my spot but all I could remember were those icy blue eyes which had taken my breath away.
Crazy thoughts and images flashed through my head and I wanted to resist them but they were just too alluring to kick out.
I could picture her perfectly in my mind, standing in her white dress with no shoes on. Her small feet were pale and looked sore and tired.
From noticeable things like her glistening eyes and the long strands of creamy blonde hair that covered a part of her face to trifling things like the little cut she had over her right eyebrow.
Her dainty long legs glowed in my mind and I caught myself wondering how she’d be when the dress was off.
Just thinking about her naked caused an instant erection.
I tried to push the dirty thoughts from my mind but they were relentless and kept on coming over and over again with more clarity and I could feel myself go harder by the minute.
I jerked in fright when Ares, my wolf sniffed someone coming.
A growl was buried in my throat as I warned off the person but the person kept on coming which meant that whoever it was must have been a gamma or an omega as I could only use mind connection with the betas and the Alpha of the pack.
As the person came closer, Ares sniffed in the familiar scent of Calista Brown, my childhood best friend who just recently became my mate.
“What are you doing here? I asked without taking my eyes off the water.
“I’m sorry,” She apologized. “I know you don’t like anyone disturbing you but I just really needed to speak with you.”
“What is it that would make you disturb my private time?” I asked in the friendliest tone I could afford to use.
She cleared her throat nervously. “I… I am worried.”
I hesitated. “Worried about what?”
“A-about us,” She confessed. “I am worried about us.”
“Why?”
She paused for a while. “After what happened at the temple today, I became scared.”
“Why?”
“I know it’s silly but I felt bothered and worried when I saw you staring at her.”
“Who?”
“The supposed blessed wolf,” She said with envy clearly present in her voice.
I didn’t say anything so she continued talking. “I know I shouldn’t be scared or worried but I just can’t help myself.”
I cleared my throat and looked back. “Well there’s nothing to be worried about, okay?”
She exhaled and nodded.
“Now, can I be alone?”
She smiled and began walking away but then she stopped and asked a question which troubled me. “Are you going to reject the gift? I mean the blessed wolf, are you?”
I wanted to say no but I didn’t know how to explain how I felt about her to Calista, probably because I wasnwasn’t even sure of how I felt or why I felt that way for a girl I didn’t know.
“Are you?” Calista asked again with a shaky voice which only made her fright more obvious to notice.
“Of course,” I said.
Calista smiled and then muttered. “Thank you,”
“There’s nothing to thank me for,” I said to her. “You’re my mate, I am obligated to love you and only you and I don’t need anyone else.”
Her smile broadened and I could a pinkish hue emerge across her cheekbones.
“I love you too, Beta Aiden,” She said delightfully.
A faint smile and a slight nod was my response to her before I shifted my gaze back to the clashing water below.
She walked away happily and when I was sure she was gone, I heaved in a sigh of despair.
