I followed Ryder down the hall and out of the Med-Bay, Grayson in tow with a silence that swallowed the three of us. We went upstairs, people in the house giving us strange looks- my eye met Raul’s as I climbed the steps, my walk faltering as I studied his expression. I made a small motion for him to text me, waving my phone too quickly for anyone but Grayson who was behind me to notice.
My mate sped up, meeting my pace and giving me a raised brow. “Who were you trying to signal with that?”
“Why do you care?” I asked, scoffing and turning to him. “Why not reject me and get it over with, Grayson?”
He swallowed, not answering me. I studied his pained expression, realizing I can feel it as well. He had marked me, so was it too late to be rejected? My body clearly accept
