Welcome to my world
“Run! Don’t Look back….Go!” A voice echoed in her mind as she ran along the unfamiliar path. Her body felt cold, and she could barely breath properly.
Someone was after her, speeding among the dying grasses, but she couldn’t tell who. The environment was empty. There was no life in sight except herself. Who could it be? Then she felt someone grab her arm.
“Let go!” She tried fighting it off. “Leave me alone!”
“We won’t let you escape that easily! Never!” A male voice pierced her ears. She looked around. There was no one.
“Who are you? Leave me alone!” She cried.
“Mrs Rena!” A voice snapped her out of her nightmare.
Rena Rayon opened her eyes to a small prison cell. One that smelled of urine and rotten food. Her sleepy eyes caught sight of two individuals standing before her. O! No! It was the constable and her assistant pointing their pistol at her face. “Get up now, lazybones! It’s time for your trial.”

She stood in the court, her stomach churning as the judge announced his verdict. Her twins sat with their father, Dave Rayon, staring at her in smiles. She would be locked up in a mental asylum for 10 years with no access to them. No one could handle her anymore. Dave stared and stared. His lips couldn’t speak. But despite the pain, he had refused to divorce her.
“She only needs help,” he said. “My wife will be back soon, I promise.”
Rena eyed his parents, as a devilish smirk came on their lips. Those demons! She wiped the tears forming in her eyes and maintained her stance. Of course this was their plan. And their betrayal hit like a fast moving car. Her marriage of 4 years, the perfect couple in the news, the apple of her husband’s eyes, shattered just like that.
Rena’s eyes went back to her twins. They were still 2 years old, Paul and Paulina. The judge adjourned the case, and Dave wouldn’t stop staring at her. The hurt in his eyes was very obvious, and their maid kept asking him to calm down.
“Why? Why did you try to kill Paul?”” he finally asked as he approached Rena. “I trusted you!”
“I didn’t try to kill him, Dave! I swear to you. I didn’t try to kill our son!” Rena said, unable to take it anymore. Tears ran down her cheeks as her hands trembled. This was getting too much. Her twins laughed and his parents shot her a devious look. In no time, his father whispered to the police. Her kids were taken out of the court while Dave stayed.
“You are a good woman, Rena. There was a reason I fell in love with you,” Dave's voice mumbled.
Rena went on her knees. Her lips trembled as she spoke.
“Please believe me.I would never try to kill our son, I swear,” She pleaded.
“You’ve tried to harm him before, Rena. I…I…I left him with you and you gave him a freaking knife. I let that slide. You keep having these strange nightmares I do not understand and it’s affecting you. You keep doing odd things. How many more of your mistakes will I ignore? They are children, Rena. They don’t know what they are doing. I honestly thought you loved them…”
“Why will I kill my only son?! Are you even listening to yourself? I have never thought ill of anyone in my life,” Rena screamed.
“Rena, allow us to help you… okay?” Dave showed her a medical document he held. “You really need help. I love you, but I can’t risk my kids being with you.”
“Dave….”
He stepped away from her and walked out of the court. She touched her tommy with an helpless look.
“Move!”
