The Ambush

I continued listening as Alistair spoke, "And what about her, Caleb? You know what they'll do to her if they kill Colvin and claim this pack. They'll force her to be their Luna." My brows raised. Who could they be talking about? Even from all the way out here, I could feel the tension among them. "Are you insinuating that I'd put her in harm's way?" Caleb asked, his voice deadly. "You know that's not what I meant, C. I'm just saying, Colvin is pretty much useless to help us out now. We need a plan, we need to do something and fast---" He abruptly stopped, and I pressed my ear against the door a little harder. My wolf ears twitched, reaching out for sound, but even they couldn't hear a thing. What on earth is going on in there? Why did they just stop talking? "Aah!!" The door suddenly opened, and I nearly fell on my face, but instead, arms caught me. Looking up, I saw the three of them staring back at me. All stern and serious. Oh goddess. "Stellie, what are you doing here?" Caleb asked. His cadence was a bit sweet, but I knew better than to trust that. It was leading, that's what it was. Wanted to make me feel safe, so I would spill my guts and then corner me like the predators they all were. Staring at them, I didn't know what to say. What could I possibly say to get away from this safely? Without looking suspicious? Nothing that I could come up with. "Tongue in a knot, Little One?" Rowan asked, his eyes in slits. My eyes moved among the three of them in a panic. I was caught, stuck, done for. Goddess, what have I done? "Bring her inside," Alistair said. They shut the door behind me, and the hairs on my arm rose. My wolf ears quivered before disappearing. Helpless wolf, I sneered in my head. She wouldn't even try to help me. "Why were you listening in?" Rowan asked, rolling up the sleeves of his shirt and I swallowed. "I... I don't..." I stammered. "Don't lie, Stellie, I know how horrible you are at it." Caleb's hand gently brushed my hair from my shoulder, to behind my back. There was no way I could escape this, they wouldn't let me. Besides, Caleb was right, I was a horrible liar. Especially before Alphas, it's just my nature to want to be honest with them and please them however I could. No matter how much I tried to fight against it, it was the way I was. As I looked back at Rowan, I saw him approaching me, getting closer than the others. "You see, Little One, to even think lying to one of us is a grave error. What do Omegas who lie to their Alphas deserve?" My breathing nearly stalled. "Come on, I know you know," he said. "We get...we get spanked," I whispered. He leaned in, "Sorry, what was that? I couldn't hear you." I swallowed, "We get spanked." The edges of his lips curled into a smile, "Good girl." He then turned to Caleb. "Will you do the honors?" I looked at my best friend with wide eyes. I saw Omegas getting spanked by their Alphas nearly all the time, but it had never happened to me...not yet. Caleb was always gentle and I... I always stayed in my lane. Until now. Staring right back at me, I watched as he rolled up his sleeves and pulled up a chair, sitting on it. He patted his lap, "Sit."
