Gavi felt something sinister in the air the moment he woke up, a faint discomfort, his heart beating faster, but it was Aria who drove them to run.
“Isika!” she shrieked in her sleep, sitting up in her bedroll as the sun was getting ready to rise, staring over the fields to the north, in the direction of the city. Gavi sat up as well, turning to look at Aria. She was shaking.
“Gavi,” she whispered, then frowned. Her hands shook like leaves in a stiff wind. “Abbas!” she shouted. “Ivy! Wake up! We must go now. Now!”
