Chapter 5

Aurelia's POV I continued trudging through the darkness looking for any sign of anything. Occasionally I would hear someone talking, whether it was Rhamon or Samuel. Eitherway, it was usually things I did not want to hear. "It's incredibly boring, father. People will notice if my bride is hardly talking or even having emotions." Samuel scoffed, which caused me to scoff aswell. "Maybe if you didn't drug people you wouldn't have that problem." I growled in frustration. I didn't even know what I was looking for. Mother didn't tell me anything besides not to leave. Who knew just waking up would be so difficult? "When I get out of here I swear I-" I fell to the ground, crying out and looking to see what I tripped on. A rose? I reached for it, grabbing it when I was blinded. Closing my eyes, I gasped. I couldn't catch a break here. The world around me started to appear until I was in a room. There were tons of books and a desk in the middle of the room. It must be someone's office. I stood up, walking around looking to see if there was anything of interest that could help me out, when I found a book called, "Ivagilda". That was what they poisoned me with. Maybe this would help me. Grabbing the book, I sat down, opened it up and started to read. Hmm. The poison is a flower? The flower is mainly purple with strands sticking out from the side. It seems the strands are what are used to make the poison. What does the poison do exactly though? Flipping through the pages, I found my answer. "In even small doses you can see the effects appear. It can cause females to go into premature heat, and in higher doses it begins to affect the mental aspects of the victim. Making them mentally incapable of making their own decisions. Dosages higher than this can cause paralysis, coma, and death.." I sighed, they must have given me a really high dosage because of how much it hurt, and considering the fact, I am either unconscious or not fully conscious. I continued to read to see if there was anything to get rid of the effect. There is not a cure, only the healing effects of our bodies can get rid of the toxin. f**k. What am I going to do? I don't have time to just wait, especially because they may put more in me. Just then, a man walked into the office sighing while holding his head. He was growling softly, "What is going on with me?" I stood up from the chair I had been sitting on, moving to the side to try and hide from the man. He then walked over to the desk, looking at the book that was sitting open on it. He didn't notice me? "Who put this here...?" He mumbled to himself before inspecting the page closely. "Ivagilda... I haven't heard of this being used in years..." A man walked into the office speaking, "Alpha Elisio. Are you feeling any better?" So that was the pretty man's name. Elisio shook his head with a sigh, closing the book and putting it back on the shelf. "No Harley, I don't know what's going on with me.. It's been two days since this started." The man, Harley, nodded sympathetically before replying, "Maybe you should go see the pack doctor to see what it is. I don't know what could be having you this drained Alpha." The Alpha nodded and mumbled something before they both left. When they did leave, I decided to leave as well. Elisio's POV The past few days all I have felt was drained. I did not feel as if I was sick, but I also didn't feel well. It felt like something was pulling me, calling me to sleep. It was weird. At first I thought maybe it was poison, but I would have been ill if that was the case. So, I decided Harley's advice was probably for the best. The doctor would have a better idea of what is going on than I do. Harley is my beta. I appointed him as my beta when I became Alpha at 17. This was because he was like a brother to me. We'd been friends since Middle School. So, if I had to trust anyone else with such a big responsibility, it would be him. You can't just entrust the job of the royal beta to anyone. A chill went up my spine, causing me to shiver for a second. Something felt off when I walked into my office, but I did not know what it would be. I continued walking next to Harley until we made it to the clinic in the castle. "Alpha, Beta, What can I do for you today?" Mariona, the pack's top doctor, asked me. Mariona was a twenty-eight year old female wolf who had her position given to her by her father who passed away three years ago. She was very capable of her job and often helped hundreds of wolves in a lot of packs. At first, when her father died, she did not want to accept his position, instead she wanted to travel and help people during that time. But we compromised on her coming back in a year to take the position since it was what her family wanted. "Good Afternoon Mariona. Alpha is here because he feels 'weird'. I would stay to oversee the appointment but I have a lot of paperwork I have to attend to." Harley sighed and then left the clinic, leaving me. Mariona tilted her head and grabbed her stethoscope, putting it over my heart for a few seconds. She then pulled back, looking at me puzzled, "Your heart beat is a little slow, your Majesty. I should probably run some tests." She then wrapped a cuff around my arm, telling me to relax before turning the machine on. The cuff tightened around my bicep as she walked over to a cabinet, grabbing things out of it. "Are you okay with me doing some blood tests?" I sighed before responding, "Yes that is okay." Mariona smiled at my response before taking the cuff off and proceeding to clean off my arm. She flicked my arm before putting the needle in my arm. The blood started to be taken by the tube connected to the needle and I looked away from my arm. I didn't really care about needles much, but I prefer not to watch my blood leaving my body. The doctor hummed softly, taking the needle out of my arm and putting a bandage in its place. She threw away the needle and then looked back at me, "I'll have the results in about thirty minutes. So you can chill out here or I can call you with the results in a little bit." I contemplated for a second before deciding to leave. It wouldn't be hard to come back later if I had to. "I'll leave to do some work. Call me with the results, doctor." I said before leaving the clinic. I continued to my office, doing some paper work for a while when my phone began to ring. "Alpha Elisio Speaking." "Alpha.. Your blood has traces of secondhand Ivagilda.." The doctor said with concern.
