Esme stepped out of the school gates, exhausted and drained. She wanted nothing more than a warm bath, hot cocoa and her man-size plushie, Grisly the bear.
Being dehydrated from giving instructions to the other students, she felt anxious that Kyle had ignored her for the rest of the day while they worked.
The black car she had seen in the morning that brought Kyle was parked out front, probably waiting for him.
“Kyle-.” She called out to him, hoping he would stop ignoring her and actually say something. Kyle opened the car door and stepped inside, closing the doors with a bang.
