Days, weeks, months passed by so fast but Angelique never saw her mate again.
She always came back onto the river and she tried to walk around but she never saw her, even just the shadow of Chiara. It was like it never happened and she never met her.
She finally knew her name after asking Kimberly. She also described her so she already has it visual. She fell harder as Kimberly talked about her sister. With her help, she slowly knew how or what her mate was. A loving and kind soul anyone will want to be with.
“Good morning, Alpha!” a young girl greeted her. She’s the daughter of the person she helped, Mr. Augur. She’s friends with Pink, so she’s close to other children too.
“Good morning, too. Why are you here, Rea?” They were inside the office, and they were alone.
“She’s getting married.” Angelique was confused by the words that came out of Rea’s mouth.
“Who’s getting married?”
“Your mate. She’s having her own family now.” Angelique was stunned. She couldn’t think right.
“You are joking, aren’t you? That won't happen because she’s my mate.” She shook her head, not believing what she heard even though she knew it was real.
“I saw her marrying a man. But,” Rea paused and looked at the Alpha, “she’s sad and crying.”
“Are you sure? I know you’re a seer and everything you see is true. But, I can’t believe it.” A serious Alpha, for the first time, showed a confused face. Her forehead furrowed and her eyes quaver for a second.
“Don’t worry.” The child at a young age knew how to comfort an adult and assure her. “My mother once said, every relationship went through the struggle. The harder the struggles you both overcome, the stronger the love is. Even with all this conflict, if you believe with your love, we will end up with her in the end.”
Angelique intently just looked at her. She knew she just wanted to comfort her but her words really opened up her mind. Her bubbling jealousy and anger a while ago slowly faded away.
As for herself, she’s not ready yet. Her revenge was still ongoing and she still had a long way to go to obtain what she wanted. Freedom for everyone and no more manipulative jerk to rule over them.
Maybe, what they're going through right now was for the best. They both have lives to look after and secure.
“I know. Thank you for informing me. Don’t worry. I won’t hold it against her. I’ll just take her back when the time comes.” She patted the young girl’s head that made this cheeky girl giggle.
“I’ll be going.”
“Okay.”
The girl turned around and left but in a few seconds, she went back. She just peek and asked the Alpha.
“Is Pink at your house?”
“Yes, she is. She is waiting for you so both of you go to training at the same time.” The young girl smiled so wide that it reached her eyes.
“Oh! I’ll be going then, for real. I can’t let Pink wait for me longer.” If Angelique was a normal person, she would surely smile at her cheeky remarks. She’s like Pink which is full of sunshine.
“Okay. Take care.”
This time, she really went to their house where her friend was waiting for her. Meanwhile, Angelique sat down and started to do her paperwork. It was mostly about their budget and proposal for another business.
Their pack was getting bigger and bigger day by day, so they have many expenses now. They could go to the main city because it might cause some rebuttal to others and they might know what they were hiding all this time. They all know that the land was just barren and only White Fang Pack was in here.
“I saw Rea coming from here. Did she need anything?” Even Conor got close to the young girl because of her kind nature.
“Yeah. She just told me what she saw. It’s not related to our pack so don’t worry,” she told her hiding what it was all about and what she felt.
“Oh!” He sat down on the chair in front of Angelique’s table. “The first time I heard that she can really see the future, it shocked me. Now I realize why the Lycans wanted to kill them. They can be a threat, even though it can benefit them.”
“Yeah, and you forgot about their beliefs.” Conor was saddened.
“Yeah. They looked down on women and for them, they’re just a breeding tool. A piece of tool for their pleasure. No matter how strong and good you are, you are just a toy for them.” Every word spoken by Conor, there's anger in it. He didn’t like the pack he came from.
“I can hear your voice outside. What happened?” Serio asked when he went in. He felt the pressure in the air.
Conor took a deep breath and calmed herself up. “It was nothing.”
Serio didn’t answer, especially when the other members of the council came in. They all stood up and went to a small room prepared for a private talk. That was a special room that no one could enter if he/she was holding some camera, recorder, weapon, and if you had a bad thought in mind, be aware.
They all sat down on an oval table with Angelique on the head. She just sat down and crossed her arms on her chest while Serio sat down on her left and Conor on her right.
Five councils were here to supervise the members. Everyone has their own role to perform; the contraction of their place, education, budget and business, training and safety, and last was for every secret mission.
“Alpha called you all here today to propose another training course for our warrior. Also, another wall will be made for our safety and to gather other families that might help us. We already had a name for every person that is needed for this attack. We need them for success.” Conor spoke first and they all listened.
Almost all of them have a mutual enemy, the Lycans. They were a family who made it out alive when they were attacked by the Lycans. Almost all of the council were a successor of their pack but now was destroyed. They didn’t want a pack anymore because there’s no members and sadness consumed their hearts. All they wanted was to avenge their lost family.
“For training,” Serio stood up and the screen in front lit up. A series of pictures showed up that amazed the other people inside. “New advanced weapons were made by humans. Alpha acquired them because it is easier to use and easy for killing. They will be trained with this, especially women and children for their safety.”
Everyone agreed and looked at every weapon shown. They were amazed that they could kill anyone even at a long distance. Arcadia was really slow in progress because the king didn’t want the people to have something against him.
“Let’s proceed to another topic, the wall. We have another material that came from Guslar. Aloha knows that the wall was tall and thick but it is not enough for a werewolf. We wanted to put traps on every corner of our wall. It will be made from iron bars that can surely penetrate the skin of any creature. Can you do it?” Conor asked the head. He’s an engineer, he also studied in Guslar.
“We can!” he said full of confidence.
“Good! Now, for a secret mission.” A picture pops up on the screen. She’s a young girl like Rea that they saved months ago. They were confused at first but now they understood. They were important people in this world.
“What is she capable of?” Serio was confused too. He seemed to know the girl but he couldn’t tell who she was.
“She’s your granddaughter to your sister. She’s an orphan now after Lycans killed her parents.” Angelique looked at Serio after she spoke. She saw how stunned he was knowing his niece was killed.
All this information came from Rea and it was all accurate. Rea told her that she needs to find all these people because she needs them in the future.
“Where is she now?” Serio became teary-eyed knowing her situation.
“In an orphanage.”
“Can I get her?” he presented.
“That will be great. No hassle to get her because you’re her grandfather. They will surely give her to you.” One of the council agreed.
“Bring a companion when you go. Next!” Angelique remembered, still looking at the screen. The room was a little darker, which made the picture appear more vivid.
A man in his twenties appeared on the screen. He was like a nerdy werewolf and seemed locked up in his room.
“Kidnapped him. But talk to him first because she might frost you to death,” said Conor.
“That seems a dangerous person to face,” one of them said.
“He is the reason why we need to negotiate with him first.”
Conor showed the next person, the last one. She’s around Angelique’s age and also beautiful. She lives inside the palace that made the council confused.
“Her mother will die next week, that will also cause her own death. So, we have to talk to her in secret before she realizes how twisted the king is.” They were all confused about how the Alpha knew all of this.
“We will just inform you when you will move and take them. You are all dismissed.” They all nodded and left the room because the meeting was done.
“I will be out later. I need to do something.” She always informs them so they won’t be worried.
“Okay. Take care.” They sighed and nodded. Angelique will never change her mind so they only said okay.
Angelique looked at space and thought of the way she would do it later. She just hoped that she will survive later.
