Days came by and they couldn’t find her sister. In the end, they decided to join the pack. Finally, they were happy because they’re living in a place that everyone wanted.
They followed the rule of the pack and they were happy with this. They could freely use their power inside the pack, but as long as they never hurt anyone.
Everyone was living peacefully. They have the freedom they want and experience new things.
“Alpha, the businesses are booming and we haven’t celebrated anything yet. Why don’t we offer a celebration to all our workers? Also, it is our fifth anniversary.” Angelique nodded with acknowledgment.
Conor was right. They needed to show their appreciation to her worker, werewolf, or human. They worked hard so a small celebration was nothing for her.
“Okay. Let’s do that,” she agreed.
Conor left with a smile on his face. He’s excited to hold an event like this. Every year, they did this and he was excited every time.
He called all the people she knew and told them what he wanted them to do. The event will be a buffet where anyone could eat whatever they want.
Angelique worked as always while everyone was happy knowing the celebration. They’re waiting for the gift the Alpha is going to give them. Angelique was generous in giving gifts that everyone was excited about.
Days passed, everyone was busy. They doubled the production so that they covered up the day of celebration. Every day the farm was open for workers. They have alternate days off every week, so every day the farm was still full of workers.
A day of no work could cost them a big loss. So they adjusted and doubled the work the day after the celebration to cover the loss cost.
The celebration came. It will start in the morning and will end in the afternoon or at night. A bountiful amount of food was prepared for everyone, so they will not think if they will starve.
Even the family of the workers was welcome, which really made the farm swarm of people. Children were laughing and having fun, werewolf or human. All they did was play like a normal child does.
“Uncle Conor, did you prepare the gifts?” Angelique asked as she looked at the people who came inside the farm.
“Yes, Alpha! It was already on stage.” He pointed out the gift he prepared for today.
The gifts were prepared for the human workers. Werewolves really don’t need it. They have enough and Alpha was generous to them that she already gave things they wanted. Of course, except the car that they couldn’t use.
Ten gifts were prepared for them and all of them were for household use. Others will receive cash prizes, therefore they won’t be sad and envious.
“How about the other two separate gifts?” she asked again pertaining to the necklace she wanted to be customized. She told him to put a tracking device in it and it should be undetectable.
“It was done. Here!” He gave her two long boxes. She took it and opened one of them, then she nodded in satisfaction.
“Thank you, Uncle Conor!” she said. They both sat after and waited for the guest to come.
When everyone had already come, they started the celebration. Kimberly was the emcee and other people also had some small presentations for everyone. But that’s not at all, because Kimberly prepared prizes of her own for an on-the-spot contest. The winner will be chosen based on the audience’s clap.
They danced and sang. Everyone was happy and enjoying it. The food was delicious too. Everyone had a smile on their faces while Angelique just looked at them.
In the afternoon, after they have their lunch, Kimberly walked on the small stage carrying a crystal bowl with papers in it.
“While some were still eating, we will have the raffle promo. I am calling Ms. Guerrero, come here with me and let’s do it together.” Angelique stood up and went there as she requested.
“Good afternoon, everyone!” She greeted them first before she started to pull names from the bowl.
The winners were so happy that they were jumping when their name was called. Besides the gifts, they also received some cash.
Then, everyone was happy when they knew that those who didn’t receive gifts will still receive some cash.
After this, Angelique went out of the stage. She knew her role for today was done so she could go now.
She picked up one basket full of different pastries before she sneaked out. She didn’t want to stay any longer, so she went out.
The pack was safe with some of the warriors watching over it. She told someone to deliver them food, so she’s sure they did have it.
She went out and went to the place she had not visited for days because she was busy, especially when she rescued the young man with ice ability. There’s other activities that followed after that so she didn’t have the time to go there.
She arrived and she saw that her mate was there. But now, she was in her place. She was sitting on the tree she always sat and leaning on it as she did.
“Look like you miss me too,” she whispered, walking near her. She was asleep, therefore she didn’t make any sound to wake her up.
When she made it in her front, she squatted down and looked at her. For the first time, she could clearly see her. Angelique’s eyes sparkled seeing the beauty in front of her.
She was mesmerized by her heart-shaped face with pouty lips and complemented by her short blonde hair. She didn’t know the color of her eyes, but Angelique was sure it is beautiful. Everything screams beautiful.
She moved her hand and wanted to touch her face but she stopped halfway. She didn’t want to wake her up. Though she’s beautiful, her face was also screaming that she’s haggard. She couldn’t tell about her body because she’s wearing bigger clothes.
“I am sorry for being late,” she whispered and soundlessly put down the basket she brought. “I brought this because I have been craving this for a few days now. I thought you might like them too.”
She wanted to touch her again but she just tightly clenched her fist. She couldn’t wake her up.
“Please, just stay safe and wait for me to come back. I will take you away from there. I know wherever you’re hiding is the safest place here, so I won’t take you. Especially, some people are still depending on you. I will make sure that this world is safe before I will take you. Please, be patient and don’t do anything that might hurt you.”
“By the way, don’t worry about your sister. She’s fine and she’s with me. After all of this, you will see her again. I promised that.” She sighed, controlling herself from touching her mate.
If she was not afraid for her safety and her people, she would just take them in. But where they were now was the safest place because even she couldn’t find it. She was sure the Lycans wouldn't as well, even if they tried to.
“Also, here. You will know who owned it. She talked to me with her last strength and gave me this. She told me to give it to you and the other one when your sister was ready. She’s turning eighteen in a few months, so I will give it to her. Please, always wear it. Don’t put it down or other people see it.” She took a deep breath and looked up.
She was really controlling herself before she lost it. She’s happy knowing she’s fine.
“I should have brought my cell phone so I could take a photo of you.” She chuckled softly before she just looked at her face.
She wanted to memorize every nook of her face. She didn’t want to forget her in her memory.
“Angelique!” But a sudden call made her alarmed. It was a distress call coming from a person who helped her escape before.
She never thought it would happen today, of all day. She wanted to spend more time with her mate but it appears to be cut down shorter.
“I am sorry. I have to go now. Please, wear it. I have letters there too.” For the last time, she stole a kiss and ran away.
When she was far enough, Chiara opened her eyes then tears fell from it. She’s happy at the same time sad. She wanted to be with her mate too.
“Baby, let’s wait for your mother,” she said as she caressed her stomach.
