Chapter 9

Mary POV:

Once Ava gave Nikki back control and my wolf Jewel did the same with me I could not look at Nikki not because I was angry with her but because in all honesty I always thought she was weak I thought she was a push over who wouldn't stick up for herself someone who would never amount to anything more than one of the omegas who cleans the pack house, cooks for everyone, and does the households chores that no one else wanted to do but after Ava showed me her past and future I came to realize she really was a strong young woman the pain she endured in her past and the pain she will most likely face at the hands of my twin brother her own mate because she is so determined to protect the people she loves most me included shocked me my best friend has more strength than I could ever have I am no weak wolf people have always underestimated me due to my small size and the simple fact I am a female but that has always given me the drive to prove them wrong I pushed myself to be better to run faster and punch harder than all of the future alphas I train with even my own brother he is always the first asshole telling me that I am a woman I should act like one instead of trying to be a man he even points out that my wolf has a very girlie name and she is no fighter prior to us my parents pulled me aside asking me to not show my full strength and to basically let my brother become alpha and I would become beta they felt if I was to show him up at training his ego would never recover from loosing to his younger sister who stands at 5'2 and weights 110 soaking wet but like Nikki people constantly underestimate me when my brother and I spar during training I never give my full effort I have always allowed him to win but that s**t stops now I can not allow him to be alpha if I let him do so he will run our pack into the ground loosing everything my father and his father before him worked so hard to build not only that he will banish, imprison, hurt, and kill so many of our pack members in such a short amount of time because of his ego and unwillingness to put his pack first the only person he has ever and will ever show any type of feelings for is that w***e Vanessa I don't know what he sees in her besides the fact she looks and treats him like a god putting all of his needs before anyone else I heard a rumor she eve rejected her mate in order to keep him happy some people would say its love I say its obsession its like they are both addicted to each other and not in the good way 

I cant help but glance at Nikki as she is picking out some clothes and video games for her brothers geez its her birthday and she is getting stuff for the boys rather than getting stuff for herself she is such a selfless person it breaks my heart knowing my brother will end up hurting her I want to keep her safe and far away from my brother I want to write to the royals and beg them to take her and her brothers in before my brother can lay a finger on her but I know I cant it is her destiny to endure and grow stronger from the pain he will inflict on her all I can do as a friend is be there for her and not let her submit to that piece of s**t I call a brother 'some fates are already carved in stone Mary but some we can re-write there is still time for you to keep her and the boys safer and end the abuse sooner if you stop bowing down to that dog and take your rightful place as alpha you might be able to help her get away faster and legally so you and her both can do what you were truly meant to do screw what your parents say neither one of them will be willing to keep you, Nikki, or those safe all they care about is keeping Jason happy they fill his head with that "he is better than everyone" s**t they refuse to see that he is a bad person it is up to you and Nikki to make sure this pack doesn't suffer because of his stupidity and your parents shitty parenting skills' Jewel says I am so confused I don't want to disobey my parents but all of this feels wrong I cant let my pack get hurt I refuse to allow it "helllooo earth to Mary are you okay" Nikki shakes me softly s**t I was so wrapped up with thinking and talking to Jewels I didn't even notice Nikki talking to me "s**t I am so sorry Nik I have a lot on my mind what's up" she frowns at my responds "I was asking if you want to grab some lunch from that Mongolian place you like so much ………. look Mary I am sorry for whatever Ava showed you I am also sorry that I kept her a secret for so long your the only friend I have and I didn't want you thinking I was a freak like everyone else if it makes you feel better you can forget whatever Ava said I already feel a lot of bad things are going to happen to me and most if not all of my future pain will be because your brother I don't want to be the reason you and your brother drift apart or argue" Nikki's eyes are already watering she really does worry so much about others she is such a good friend and is probably going to be a fantastic mate to my brother even though he doesn't deserve her I quickly grab her hand as her other hand is wiping away her tears I take a deep breath and look her straight in the eye I need her to know how serious I am "he is the family that was given to me you my sweet and caring best friend are the family I choose no matter what I will back you 100% even if Ava had never shown me what she showed me I would have supported you fully, your my sister from another mister and I love you I will do everything in my power to help you and keep you safe not because I have to but because I want to and yes I will fight even harder to make sure not one hair on your brothers' heads get harmed the only thing I need from you is to fight always fight Nik never submit or give up always stay strong and know that you my sweetness are meant for greatness and no more secrets between us promise me" as the last word leaves my mouth Nikki just puts up her pinky to me and we wrap our fingers around each others smiling at each other like goofballs "forever and a day Mar" she says to me while not letting go of my finger "forever and a day Nik" we quickly embrace each other in a sisterly hug and with out another word we walk together silently to the food court

Nikki's POV 

Mary and I are happily enjoying our food and laughing and talking about anything and everything we can think of that will keep our minds off my shitty future with my most likely abusive mate she tells me about training and I tell her how for the past couple of years I sneak out to go to the training course and train just behind the tree line funny enough before the alpha allowed her to train she was doing the same thing on the opposite side where I would sneak we never really talked about stuff like this but I feel since Ava and I opened up to her that wall we had between us as been broken down we both agree to have a sparring session before she leaves she also said she is going to talk to our old friend Kaden to train me one on one I really haven't spoken to Kaden since we were in elementary school once we hit middle school his father pulled him out of classes in order to do home schooling so he can start preparing to be the packs head warrior and trainer no one really sees him anymore unless your at training and even then he doesn't talk to anyone unless its to give instructions he is built like a damn machine his father took no short cuts when it came to training the future safety of this pack and his son is doing the same thing "when was the last time you actually seen or spoke to Kaden?" I ask Mary the three of us used to be glued at the hip wherever one of us was the other two weren't far behind "I don't know probably two weeks before I left for my training how about you?" she casually says while twirling her noodles around her fork "uhh he comes into the café once in awhile with his dad they make it a point to always sit in my section because I know there order by heart I don't even bother going and taking their order once they walk in I just put their food in at the window those two are extremely predictable there order has been the same since I started working there" I say to Mary with a giggle thinking about Kaden and his father they were my best customers always left me big tips Kaden's dad Charlie was the one who had found out about my dad and his friends he knew what was happening to me he was the one who gave my mother the evidence to get them kicked out of the pack but not before kicking their asses bloody thanks to Charlie my father and his buddies literally had to crawl out of the territory once they were banished 

"Hey why don't we call Kaden and his dad and invite them to your birthday dinner tonight before your shift we can ask them both to train you and I can ask them to keep an eye on you while I am gone that bullshit bullying from those pack hoes stops now" Mary says while grabbing her phone and starts to text Kaden I don't say anything I just grab my soda and start drinking looking around trying to keep myself busy while my best friend texts my old friend as I am looking around my eyes freeze on a couple who are involved in some serious PDA while at the same time making their way over to us oh f**k me side ways once they get behind Mary who isn't even aware they are behind her she is too caught up in texting he takes one look at me and smiles "hello mate, hey sis how are you guys enjoying your day Vanessa and I needed a break from our activities for a bit so we thought we would come and hang out with you guys is that okay with you" Jason says with a evil grin while Vanessa is shamelessly kissing and sucking on his neck I don't know if he is trying to make me jealous or hurt me but all he is doing is making me want to vomit he is definitely making it easier to resist the mate pull "are you f*****g kidding me Jason what kind of disrespectful bullshit are you playing at it is Nikki's f*****g birthday your her mate and you decide to bring this w***e around her your f*****g nasty I cant wait for the day your d**k falls off from f*****g nasty two cent hoes like this!!" Mary is screaming at her brother I am just sitting here not saying a word enjoying the show 'alright you sick bastard you wanna play lets play' giving myself a quick pep talk I grab Mary's wrist before she punches them both and we get banned from the mall for life and I gently smile at her letting her know its okay and she doesn't have to get mad on my account I am going to show him just cause the moon goddess says he is my mate doesn't mean I have to bow down to him I turn to Jason and the leach that is currently attached to his neck and smile a true genuine smile "Jason I don't mind at all if you and Vanessa join us please have a seat and make yourselves comfortable" I say to him while smiling and pushing out the empty chair with my foot Mary is looking at me with her mouth hanging wide open I quickly put my hand under her chin pushing it closed she readjusts her face and where she's sitting so she isn't close to them I send her a quick wink linking her to play along Mary and I sit in our seats while Jason tosses himself in the chair realizing he failed at his attempt to piss me off pulling Vanessa on to his lap she slightly winces when I look down I see why he is digging his finger nails into her hips trying to calm himself I have never liked Vanessa but I don't like seeing men or should I say little boys hurt women I look over at Mary and she too sees that Jason is hurting the girl in his lap 'touch him it will calm him down instantly Killian cant get Jason under control it is up to you Nik' Ava says to me I gently place my hand on his arm rubbing him gently giving him a pearly white smile I watch as he loosens his grip on his mistress' hips I see a small amount of blood forming on her shirt "thank you Jason for making some time to see me before you left it means a lot to me" while still smiling and rubbing his arm I can feel him and his wolf calming down once I can see his eyes go back to their normal color I take my hand off of him slowly and start talking to the couple encouraging Mary to join in 'Mary I know you don't like her and I know this situation is pissing you off I am not exactly over joyed about all of this but I don't want Jason hurting anyone even her please help me keep his mind busy so he doesn't keep using her a pin cushion and please link her and tell her to go clean the blood off her shirt' I link Mary he looks at me while I am still talking to the "happy couple" I hear Mary huff she is pissed about this whole situation I notice Vanessa looks down at her shirt spotting the blood she quickly whispers in Jason's ear he looks down at the blood nods his head and shoos her away acting like nothing is wrong I hand Jason the rest of my food 'maybe he is even more of an asshole when he is hungry' he snatches it from me and begins eating like a rabid dog without a single word I hear Killian thank me thru mind link well at least one of them has manners Mary gets a text message from Kaden letting her know they will be at the pack house for my dinner tonight and that they are already there because the witch and one of the royal guards just showed up.

Just as I finish reading the text message my phone rings its Maggie I quickly answer ignoring Jason "yes Luna? what can I do for you" "hello my future daughter-in-law the Alpha and I wanted to let you know the seer from the royal guard has just arrived and is ready whenever you are" Maggie happily says to me "thank you Luna, Mary and I are at the mall with Jason and his friend but Mary and I will be there as soon as we pick you the boys from school see you soon" I quickly hang up my phone and look at Mary nodding my head letting her know its time to go I don't even bother looking at Jason as we get up grabbing our things to leave I don't feel anything towards this guy I only feel weak sparks when I touch him when Mary and I are ready to leave Vanessa is back in my mates lap playing with his hair I really cant wait for the day he rejects me he is such a man w***e gross "good bye Jason it was nice seeing you, Goodbye Vanessa you make sure to keep my mate happy okay" I quickly smile walking away I hear both her and Jason whisper "f*****g b***h" under their breaths I cant help but let out a little giggle 

"Damnn girl you pissed them both off without even dropping one F bomb or yelling and you stayed nice the whole damn time I really need to take some notes from you I could never remain so damn calm do you have super powers or something" Mary says between laughs I loop my arm in hers and shrug "in order to piss me off I have to actually care about the person and mate or not I could give two shits about him or his whores he insists on bringing around me I am not going to allow that ass hat ruin my mood EVER" I say to Mary as she nods her head we get to my truck and toss our bags in I give her my cell so she can pick a song she wants once she finds her playlist I made for her she picks some Beyoncé song and we are off to go get my boys
