My Accidental Luna

Chapter 25

Rebeckas POV

I've been wandering around the packlands setting up the hospital and quietly placing protection spells around the boarders, what they don't know wont hurt them, especially when it actually helps them. I'm watching some of the pack kids play in the garden chasing one another. They really are happy and at peace here. I noticed his presents again though from behind me. "If you continue to stalk me I will take action", I turned around while showing my glowing hand to make my point. It was the tall bald guard that was at my house. I didn't want to admit it, but I'm pretty sure he was my beloved or, I guess, mate in his sense. "I am sorry, I was always weary of witches growing up as I only heard horror stories. After watching how you save my Alpha, though I know you are genuine. I wanted to thank you though." I couldn't help but stare at him. He was tall, at least 6 foot 8, though most male wolves are taller than the average human. He had the most chiseled jaw line and the greenest eyes I have ever seen. He's also jacked and I mean jacked. He's wearing a workout shirt and shorts that are basically busting at the seams. "Did you want to thank me as a witch or as your mate?" His eyes widened. I'm guessing he didn't realize I would know, since I wouldn't feel the wolf bond. His mouth opened and closed several times. I quite enjoyed making him act like that. I chuckled "I don't have a wolf bond, but as witches we have a beloved and it's from what I gathered quite similar to your bond. We feel others' emotions and, if not strong enough, will die if our beloved dies. I've known since you were in my home I just wasn't ready to say anything." He looked almost relieved, "I feel bad for not saying anything as well but as I said I had my doubts, my name is Stefan."

"Stefan, well, it's nice to meet you but I need to get back to the hospital. I will probably see you around." I started to walk away because, for as long as I wanted my true love, the Moon Goddess was playing a sick prank on me and I didn't know how to feel about it. "Wait, please," I could hear the hurt from be basically turning him down in his voice. "For right now at least lets go about our normal duties and we will meet up later to talk and get to know one another okay?" He stepped closer extending his hand "till then" he smirked. I shook his hand and tingles ran up my arm, damn you Moon Goddess, "till then". After avoiding Stefan the rest of the day I'm finally sitting comfortably in bed watching some TV. I avoided Ad today too to let her kind of adjust after her outburst during the meeting. I figured she needed some time to talk to everyone. I couldn't get the dream from the Mood Goddess out of my head. She reminded me of my past and what I was meant to do, but I still had so many questions. Why, Ad I mean, she is an amazing woman and no doubt will be one of the best Lunas around, but hasn't she been through enough? However, now that I have my true love, am I willing to risk it all or maybe I should just reject him as they say. I have a lot of thinking to do. I turned off the TV and lay down after about an hour of tossing and turning. I fell into the darkness, "great".

Well, here we are back in this field. Just what I need. "Selene just come out. What more could you possibly throw at me?" Thats when I noticed the beautifully massive white wolf lying under the Willow. Ads Wolf, I walked towards her and she perked up, stood up and bowed her head. That's not normal for Luna wolves. "She recognizes you as her protector, she has been waiting for a long time to be full again." There she is, she walked out from behind the tree, "I know we just met last night, but I have to say now that you have your mate and are thinking of rejecting him I am disappointed. He is your other half. I gave him to you specifically for you as a reminder and thanks for everything you have and will do for her." If my eyes could roll harder they would. "A wolf, you mated a wolf to me, don't you think that a bit cruel?" She was petting the wolf now, "cruel, no, a warrior wolf who has set his life to protecting his Alpha and Luna at any cost, strong and devoted. Sounds exactly like someone I know. Plus, there is more to what I have told you. There is more that only you can tell them." The wolf has walked over to me and laid at my feet now. "What more is there and why only me?"

"Get settled child, this may take some time." So I did. I laid down next to the wolf mindlessly petting her and listened to what, most likely, would be more doom. "This, as you probably have gathered, is Adalines wolf, Selena. Don't roll your eyes. Adaline has her already. She has just been dormant due to my trying to keep them both safe." WHAT, how could I not pick up on this, WHAT. "Calm down I will explain, about 200 years ago, she was another woman's wolf, Katherine, who was mated to an Alpha of a now extinct pack. Your mother was her protector and did all she could, but once Selena's mate was killed due to everyone wanting her as their mate, it became harder to protect her. She was killed and, unlike other wolves whose spirits get released, she came back to me as she is a part of me. We were both devastated at the outcome of what had happened. I kept her safe until your mother had you. I went to her as I do you and she convinced me to wait and re-gift Selena to another willing soul. She knew of this family pack that kept to themselves. Basically, they were of strong blood and have lasted generations. They were a friendly pack that helped out your mother from time to time. She wanted you trained properly before having Selena re-gifted. Adaline's Grandma was of that family, as was Adaline's mother. Both her grandfather and father were humans and swore to protect the secret at all costs. Unfortunately, that cost their lives trying to protect Adaline. They knew and they also knew that I had pushed Selena back until she met her mate. I have been with everyone along the way. Adaline was little so I did it so she forgot what happened to her parents and grandma as to keep her safe. She never shifted at 18 so those that thought she was the white wolf left because they then believed they were wrong. When Barrett marks her, she will shift for the first time, there's only so long before it gets out and they come." I know I looked like a fish out of water, but damn, that is a lot of insane information. "There is more but for right now this is the information you need to tell them. Also ACCEPT YOUR MATE." oops I definitely pissed her off. "He will not reject you, this will be forever, I promise you."

"One more thing, the memories will come back when Selena is brought to her. It's going to be a lot so she will need all the help from everyone to get her through it at first." I nodded "Are you absolutely positive this is the right thing to have done, your sure what happened before, wont happen again?" She had a sad smile as she looked at Selena, "nothing is for certain, however this pack is strong and has many allies, some will surprise you, and everyone will be whole again, that I can promise you." She smiled at me differently this time, what the heck is she on about now? "Goodby for now child." Wait that's it and what does she mean for now, I cant handle this much more it really drains me and with that I was trusted awake by the burning sun shining directly in my face. Well damn, today's gonna be just f*****g peachy. Note to self-make energy potions! Alright, I had best get up and get ready. I have a mate to find and apparently "accept" and then tell a lot of wolves the truth about Adaline.
