His Only Reward **Completed and Free**

Chapter 30: Aftermath*

Dion saw Jamie collapse and ran over. He was stopped by a large, midnight black wolf with amber eyes. The wolf was standing over Jamie growling protectively.

“Raoul?“ Dion said shocked. “ Raoul I need to check her, Jamie could be seriously hurt! There is blood coming from her mouth and nose, please! “

The wolf did not move and growled in reply. Some other members of the pack joined in. King Stephan came over with a pair of trousers. ”Blackthorn, I know Kitten is your Mate, but we need Raoul back now. We promise Kitten is not going anywhere!” King Stephan said gently. Blackthorn lowered his head and whimpered in response. “We will take very good care of her my old friend, you have my word, Blackthorn!”

Blackthorn slowly nodded and moved away from Jamie, he then started to shift back into a human. 

Dion quickly went over and examined Jamie.“I did not know Raoul had found his fated Mate!” Dion commented.

“Yes, she walked in on an unfortunate incident and has been missing ever since!” King Stephan said carefully.

Dion guessed that Elise was part of that unfortunate incident. “Until tonight!” Dion said.

Raoul had fully shifted and ran over to Jamie. “Is she going to be OK?” He demanded to know.

Dion sighed and said, “ It is amazing Jamie is still alive, to be honest! Jamie not only used wild magic, but all four elements! Remarkably, her life signs are stable, probably something to do with her runes. Jamie just needs to rest because her body is exhausted!”

“I will have a room prepared in the guest wing. I will make sure Jamie is looked after by my healer. It is the least I can do, after what she has done!” King Stephan said practically.

Raoul growled and said, “Not a chance! Kitten is coming home with me and my pack will look after her!” Other members of the pack growled in agreement, no one was going to take away their Luna!

King Stephan rolled his eyes, how could he forget how strong the Mate bond is? “Fine Rao, you take Kitten home, but on the condition that Dion and my healer are going to look after her. No arguments and for chaos’ sake put some trousers on. The poor girl would be scarred for life if she wakes up now!” King Stephan said, whilst throwing the pair of trousers at Raoul. 

Raoul sighed and put the trousers on. “Sam, can you run ahead to the packhouse and tell Mrs Oakheart to prepare a guest room. Kitten is not going back to the servants quarters!” Raoul said firmly. A light brown wolf, ran off with some others, back to the packhouse.

Raoul lifted Jamie bridal style, she was too light for her liking. “ Jamie will be very hungry when she wakes up, so make sure the kitchen is warned!” Dion advised.

“It is a werewolf’s kitchen Dion, I think Mrs Oakheart will be more than prepared!” Snapped Raoul. Raoul sighed, before continuing, “ Now, if you would excuse me, Gentleman, I am taking Kitten home!” Raoul then walked off in the direction of his estate with Fluff and Amaethon following.

“Less than 24 hours and you are in this state!“ Hakan shouted. “What were you thinking? God’s Fire for chaosing sake!”

Jamie looked around and she realised she was back at the Elemental Cottage. “How am I here? Did I die?” Jamie squeaked. 

“Did you die? You bloody well could have done! I thought that Lord was supposed to protect you? I would rather you were with that Demon Richard based on that performance!” Hakan shouted in reply.

“Who’s Richard?” Jamie asked.

“Shhh, Hakan! Snapped Nerida.

“Hello, sweetheart. You are not back with us, you are in the Realms of Dreams. We can meet you here!“ Alizeh explained calmly. 

“We are so proud of you! You used your elements so well!” Nerida said whilst hugging Jamie.

“Thank you for the gifts!” Jamie said, “the seeds saved my life!”

Terran smiled and said, “ I thought they might be useful in a tight spot!”

“I am not going to scold you about using too much power, as you saved countless lives. You do need to take it easy though, for a few weeks!” Nerida said firmly.

“Navinda will seek revenge and you need to be ready. You must join the Elemental Gaurd and help make it strong. They are the only ones that can really stand up to Chaos forces.” Hakan explained.

A silver shimmer and a large black cat appeared. “Can you please wake up now? Lord Raoul is driving everyone nuts. Dion has even had to put a blocking spell on your door to stop him from checking on you all the time. The King has had to step in to stop a fight breaking out!” Fluff moaned.

“Well, if that i***t had done his job in the first place she would not be here!” Retorted Hakan.

“How long have I been out?“ Jamie said whilst rolling her eyes at Hakan.

“Seven days give or take a few hours.“ Fluff reported. 

“Gosh, I better be getting back! But, I don’t how to do it!” Jamie said.

“Like this!” Fluff answered as he walked up and bit Jamie’s finger hard without warning.

Jamie woke with a jump and moaned, “Oww, Fluff!” 

“What?” Asked Fluff waking up.

“You could have warned me!“ Snapped Jamie.

“Then, it would not have been as effective then, would it?“ said Fluff simply.

“Urgh!” Said Jamie. It was then she took in her surroundings. She was in a huge room that had egg blue wallpaper with birds of different colours. She was in a super king-sized four-poster bed made out of oak. The mattress and pillows were made out of feathers. The sheets were clearly expensive and made of silk. They were a pretty shade of light green, that matched the nightdress she had on. There was also an ornately carved trunk at the bottom of her bed and the room had an equally ornately carved wardrobe. The set was completed with a dressing table and a mirror.

Jamie’s stomach growled loudly. “You need to eat!” advised Fluff.

“I don’t know what I would do without you, Fluff!” Jamie said sarcastically. Fluff let it go, he knew Jamie got grumpy when she was hungry.

Jamie climbed out of bed and instantly felt light-headed. After the dizziness passed, she made her way to the door. She opened it and found two guards. They opened their eyes in shock. “Luna you are awake!” One said.

“ Please, call me Jamie,” said Jamie firmly.

“Yes, Luna Jamie!” The guards said in unison, whilst bowing their heads in respect. Jamie felt he checks to red with embarrassment. She had no idea what this “Luna” business was, but she had a feeling it was complicated.

“Er, is there any chance I could use the lol before you show me the way back to the servant’s quarters?” Jamie asked politely.

The guards looked at her puzzled. “ The loo please before I wet myself!“ Jamie said bluntly.

“I will accompany you, Luna Jamie, it is just down the hall here,” said one of the guards. The guard walked and showed her the facilities. He was going to accompany her until she pointed out she had been potty trained since the age of two and needed no help. The guard begrudgingly stood outside, whilst complaining that he had been ordered by Lord Raoul not to let the Luna out of their sight. 

“Well, he can go and suck it! I am not going to be kept prisoner by him”. Jamie thought. 

Jamie put on the sink tap and quietly opened the window. She was in luck as she was only on the first floor, and there was a handy patch of ivy. Jamie climb down carefully and reached the ground in one piece. She smiled and ran towards the servants’ quarters.

After ten minutes, Jamie walked into the servants’ quarters and saw Mrs Oakwood at the stove as always. “Hi Mrs Oakwood, you don’t have any of that legendary cake lying around, do you? I am starving!” Jamie said cheerfully.

Mrs Oakwood jumped in surprise and turn around. “Luna you are awake!” She said walking over and hugging Jamie. Jamie’s stomach grumbled. “Sit down Luna, I have got some food for you.” 

“Please stop calling me Luna, Mrs Oakwood it is Jamie.“ Jamie said annoyed. 

“But, you are the Luna of Wolf Moon Pack, unless you decided to reject him! Please tell me you're not thinking of that?” A worried Mrs Oakwood said, whilst putting down a plate of stew and dumplings.

“It would allow him to be with the one who truly likes Mrs Oakwood!” Jamie said in between mouthfuls.

“You mean Elsie? That b***h? He does not love her and vice versa!“ Mrs Oakwood said disapprovingly. 

“That is not what I saw!” Jamie said slowly. 

“Elise was making a power move and Raoul was just being stupid. Raoul had to wait so long though, normally people find their Mates soon after their first shift. He had to wait years for you.” Mrs Oakwood said.

“What happened to Elsie’s Mate?“ Jamie said curiously. 

“She rejected him!” Mrs Oakwood said disapprovingly. Rejecting your Werewolf mate was seen as a fate worse than death.

Just then Sam rushed into the Kitchen. He looked at Jamie and said, “Thank the Gods Luna we found you! Alpha Raoul is going to kill you!”

“Oh no, death is too good for this one!“ Raoul said from the doorway, his blue eyes glowing, anger seething from every pore.

“I am ready for you, you prick!” Jamie thought.
