Chapter - 9

203 Words
Around the cramped space, a man stood by his lonesome up against the wall sipping from his drink ever so slowly. He surveyed his surroundings, hardly able to make out a familiar face but he really didn't have any intentions of looking for just anybody. His mind was preoccupied, the brain and heart fighting a losing battle that he was well aware of. The very person he sought didn't even notice his affections for her but why would she when she already had a man! "These quiet thoughts of you been going on for years now.... I saw you in the party, soft lips, soft spoken... I came and talked to you but homie interfered now... He introduced you as his girl and I was heartbroken..." The lyrics to the song currently playing speaking volumes to his disposition, reliving the day they met as if it was being acted out before him. He felt every word in his being, internalizing the truth of it all in his soul. Man, who was he fooling, he couldn't get his mind off of her even if he tried his hardest. They'd known each other for quite sometime now, her boyfriend being the one to introduce them.
