The long and winding road

Episode one I woke up still feeling the urge to go back to sleep, the urge was much that I fell back to sleep immediately without thinking twice. ***** yes, yesterday was a very busy day for me, from going to the market to packing and repacking my stuffs. Gaining admission into the Nigerian University is a very big thing and a thing of joy because the stress you undergo while looking for admission is too much. I have not yet gotten an accommodation in school yet because I was being picky. I want a neat hostel and my own bed space. In Nigerian University hostel at times two people are being paired on the same bed and I don't need that at all, I need my own space. So all these things put together made me looked for a better hostel where there are few people in a room and my own bed space. Luckily for me, my mum knew a woman who works at the school bank. She has a brother- in- law who is the dean of students affairs in the school. I was already given a hostel online, as of that day l log into the school portal and entered my confirmation order number: an evidence that I have paid my school fees and behold I was given hostel f ***** I heard my mother calling my name from my delusional land, I sprang up from my bed forcedly as I answered to my name still feeling sleepy "ma!!" I shouted getting out of the bed hurriedly. Oops! I actually forgot that today was the d_day, the day I will leave for school, I started having these weird feelings that made my stomach to clinch. " Amira!! Amira!!" My mother called again. I answered again this time running to the direction I heard her voice. Running to the kitchen I saw my mother preparing breakfast, she was stirring a pot of jollof rice then looking at me she said " Are you not going back to school today?, this girl!, don't you know the time, are you not going again?, you know you are meant to see that man today so that he can give you a better hostel today since you said you can't stay in the other hostel they gave you, abi you know". I nodded my head as I ran to the sitting room to check the wall clock for time. I stared at the clock and it was 8'o clock that Tuesday morning. My mother called again and I went to answer her "Have you called lovelyn to know if she is ready" she asked " No, let me take my bath first and I will call her" I said. She nodded her head as I left to take my bath hurriedly. After bathing, I wore my clothes. I wore a multi colored Polo and a jean trouser, then I repacked my hair though it was still paining me. I made this hair yesterday evening because I didn't have the chance to make it during the day, after which that night my mother and I went to church to see a rev father for prayers. We were lucky to see the rev father after the adoration. He laid hands on me and prayed for me after which we went home and continued packing. After repacking my hair, I picked up my phone which was lying on my bed and dial lovelyn's number. Lovelyn is my neighbor leaving with her aunt in the same compound. Her aunt is the landlady of the Compound, her husband was based abroad but he comes back to Nigeria sometimes, she also has a son by name Charles, a two years old boy. Lovelyn picked my call after two dials. " Hello Hwfar, are you ready?" I asked. " No oo, not yet we are still cooking, what of you?" " Am ready Sha, just to eat" " Okay, let me hurry up" " No problem am waiting" I said as I cut the call. Lovelyn got admission into the same university as mine to study medical laboratory science, we are to leave for school together. l went to the sitting room to tell my mother lovelyn's reply and I saw my mother chatting with my father. She looked up saw me and asked, "Did you called her" She asked staring at me, and I told her lovelyn's reply, she didn't utter any word, then she asked my father whether he would be able to drop us at school as our luggages were too much. He didn't want to at first but changed his mind later on. He told me to be fast with whatsoever I was doing, my mother called lovelyn's aunt on the phone and told her the lastest news. Around 10' O clock that morning, we were ready, our luggages were outside waiting to be put into the car boot. When my father saw the luggages he should and said" This loads are too much ooo, Is this bags of clothes or what?" he asked, we nodded our head hiding our face. "hmm you girls are meant to take few clothes for lectures, one or two is okay and a pair of slippers, you are not going for fashion parade" he said sternly. We were just smiling at what he said as he helped us to arrange our luggages in the boot. My mother was joining for the trip because my father has asked her to. Finally we were on our way to the university, Abia State University uturu, God's own university. ***** Oh!! my bad, I failed to Introduce my self properly. My name is Amira Samuel, am the eldest child of my family, we are four children my mother gave birth to, two girls and two boys which means I have three siblings by name prosper, Susan, and Good luck.Goodluck our last born. Am a bright student I must say not boosting but I am. I got admission into the university to study medicine and surgery not on first trial but I still got what I want. I don't even Know the purpose of studying this course but I want to study it anyway because I have checked other available professional courses and I don't seem to love any of the courses. Here I am going to the world were I knew no one, just me in this particular world to make solid decisions on my own, decisions that will determine my fate in life later on. Am not good at making and keeping of friends which is one bad side of me. I have once ruin my relationship with lovelyn over not knowing how to talk and defend someone. it happened when we were done with writing post utme in the university of our choice, we were making payments the fees we have to pay as freshmen, so we travel to the university to make these payments and we couldn't come back the same day, so my mother contacted one of her colleague who has a daughter attending the same university, she is a nursing student in her finals and she lives off campus, my mother begged her so that we can be able to stay at her place until we are done making payments and then come back home the next day. We have become so close with this aunty that it was now mutual. It happened that at this particular day after paying our fees, we went to her lodge because we cannot go back that same day and she wasn't around. So after calling her, we picked up her room keys ,went upstairs and settled in. The next day, when we were about to go, we arrange her house, sweep and fetch water, I personally fetched the water, but didn't fill the whole gallon because I was tired and lovelyn was tired too, after that we went home. After some days I got a text from the aunty saying we didn't fetch any water for her, I was scared not knowing what to do, I told my mother but she didn't say anything, so I called the aunty and told her I was the only one that fetched the water because I was tired I didn't fill all the gallons, she asked about lovelyn and I said lovelyn was tired and she didn't fetch any water with me and she said she doesn't like fetching water.
