34 Meredith : At Sea We arrive in Las Palmas tomorrow, our last port of call before Southampton. The day after we left St. Helena we crossed the Equator again. This time from the south to the north. Kate and I being shellbacks this time were in on the secret. We played the part of the two mermaids in attendance on the Captain. It was as much fun as it had been when we were the victims. Clara watched the ceremony knowing she was safe and wouldn’t be thrown in the pool because she was no longer a pollywog.
