Sacrifice

Iris As I was staring out the window, thoroughly pissed of that Bodhi made me travel in this tiny tin of a sports car, I saw a black pickup careering towards us. It impacted my side and sent us spinning down the centre of the road. Oliver fought to regain control but we must have flipped or something as the next thing I knew we were upside down and Claire was screaming in my ear. My ears were ringing but I was conscious of Oliver and Ruben shouting something about Lachlan. As I looked through the front window I saw Lachlans car further down the road also on its roof but with a pick up either side. Lachlan had already climbed out but he was attacked before he could help Thea, whom I saw reaching out the window. At least 6 wolves suddenly surrounded there car and two where dragging Thea out the window. Suddenly I realised that Oliver and Ruben had both managed to escape and where trying to open my door. I forced my body to move and crawled out of the space they had made but suddenly four men appeared from behind them. Oliver started fighting two of them and another had knocked Ruben to the ground. I felt someone grasp my shoulder and try to lift me up. Not willing to go so easily I forced myself to take a deep breath and remember some of Bodhi’s training. I forced my aching body to go limp as surprise was likely to be my only advantage here. Once I was out of the car I saw another wolf reaching for Claire. Her terrified screams for Oliver were ringing in my ears but as she was furthest from the window he was having some difficulty getting to her. Ruben had managed to get to his knees but I could see blood streaming from his face, partially blinding him. I could hear Thea’s screams as it looked like she was being dragged towards one of the cars. As I realised I was going in the same direction I leant into the wolves arms and propelled myself forward, off balancing my abductor so when I followed up with a roundhouse kick he actually fell to floor and I was released. Turning on my heel I ran straight at the wolf trying to pull Claire out the car, and managed to knock him into the wolf attacking Ruben giving him time to get to his feet. Oliver has silenced one of his attackers but I could see the other had what looked like a dagger. Lachlan and Jackson had shifted but were trying to fight of multiple wolfs and get to Thea, who was almost at the car door. Suddenly I was grabbed from behind and I hit my head on the car on my way to the floor. He stamped on my leg and I screamed in pain. Rolling out of the way of his next kick, I managed to scramble to my feet in time to put some space between us. I took up a fighting stance and then decided to attack with everything Bodhi had taught me. Only about half my attacks met my target but I actually only took a few blows myself and surprisingly I was managing to keep just out of reach. I heard Bodhi yell out for Thea and I looked up to see his had reached the car she was being bundled into. He grabbed her and threw her behind him but doing so he couldn’t block the wolf’s claws as they sliced into his side. Jackson had managed to reach Thea was half helping half dragging her away as she screamed for Bodhi. Thankfully I saw him get up but I would see he was hurt bad. My heart stopped when I saw the same wolf behind him. Time seemed to stop as the wolfs claws ripped through his heart and his body turned so he was looking directly at me. A scream died in my throat as I was body slammed to the floor by a well placed kick. My ears were ringing and I voice kept telling me to get up as I felt kicks raining in on my body but I felt numb. From nowhere more wolves arrived and I crawled across the road to where Bodhi lay, the road stained red. My view became blocked by the back of Lachlan, “Please be ok Bodhi, We have to get him home” he screamed. I looked past them and saw Thea sobbing into Jackson shoulder. “Luke get him into your car we need to get him back.” As he looked at me I knew it was too late. The sound of screaming was ringing in my ears and it took me a moment to realise the noise was coming from me. Oliver I hadn’t even had a chance to check in on the others before I was attacked by two wolves. One I was able to subdue fairly quickly as I realised that they were after the girls. Thea has been targeted first, and the guys over there had the most wolves to deal with. I saw red when I saw Iris being dragged out the car, unconscious. I froze momentarily as I tried to work out how to get to her and was amazed to see her kick her abductor to the floor and take out the wolves to either side of him. Just as I thought I was getting the upper hand the wolf pulled a dagger, slowing me up somewhat. Out of the corner of my eye I could see Iris giving her opponent a run for their money, she wasn’t much of a fighter and I think her speed was the only thing keeping her on her feet. I finally got the upper hand on my opponent I saw Luke and Patrick’s car arrive followed by Alfie and Evan. Bodhi had got Thea clear of the car and Jackson and Lachlan where heading that way too. I looked into my trashed sports car to see Claire sobbing in the back seat. I reached in to help her out and she clung to be shaking and sobbing. I was nearly knocked over as a black pickup flew past me and I looked over to see Bodhi down on the ground in a pool of blood. Not far from him was Iris, her face frozen in a look for horror and realisation. When I heard her scream, I knew he was dead. Lachlan started to scream for help. I watched in a daze as Luke and Patrick loaded him into Luke’s pick up, and Lachlan jumped into the back with him. From the pick up I heard Lachlan holler “Get the girls home.” Ruben lifted Iris into the pickup and they sped off towards the pack house.
