The night was eerie. Unsettling. A layer of thick clouds hovered in the sky, blocking out the moon and stars and the natural light they gave out. The air was frigid, but a gentle chinook breezed around, playing with the snow on the ground and swirling it in the air. I suspected snow would fall once or twice more, before it would start to melt for the year. The snow crunched under Zanthus and I's feet. We walked side by side, about a foot or two apart. We almost walked numbly; silently without any giddiness or conversation. I didn't mind, though. There was nothing I wanted to say to Zanthus, nor him to me.
