Kayden POV
Tyson was fast, and I struggled to keep up with him.
When I ran after Tyson, I saw the castle doors open and Evy, Garrett, Alex and Violet ran outside, following me as I chased after Tyson.
I sniffed the air to pick up Tyson’s scent, and soon heard him scream Valeria’s name. When I came closer, I found Tyson lying motionless on the ground.
I shifted back and crouched down next to him. Seconds later, I heard the others coming up behind me and Alex crouched down next to me.
“He’s completely exhausted.” Alex said softly. “Maybe we should get him back to the infirmary. He could really use some rest.”
I nodded and Alex shifted back to his wolf form while Garrett and I hoisted Tyson up on his back. We walked back to the infirmary at a slow pace, and I mindlinked the doctors to come help us when we arrived.
When the nurses had rolled Tyson into the infirmary, we all stayed outside, still trying to process what just happened. Alex looked at me with a worried expression.
“You look like shit.” He said. “Maybe they should give you something to sleep as well?”
I shook my head.
“Thanks, but I need to find Valeria.” I replied.
“Yeah, about that.” Garrett said and pointed at the broken window on the infirmary. “What happened there?”
“Valeria left.” I replied.
“But why?” Evy asked.
“Maybe it’s some kind of trauma response?” Alex suggested. “I mean, she’s been through a lot of hardships before, but this one hit very close to home. Maybe she just needed to get away.”
“That was a grave mistake.”
We turned around to see a doctor standing right outside the front doors with some papers in his hands.
“Sorry to interrupt.” He said. “But we just got the Luna’s test results back. Her bloodwork is a mess, and we need to run a few more tests to make sure that these levels are going down. If they don’t, her organs could start shutting down. You need to get her back here as soon as possible.”
I nodded and took out my phone, only to realize that the cell service was still out.
“I still don’t have any cell service.” I said to Garrett. “Can you try to fix it?”
“I’m on it.” Garrett immediately replied and I turned to Alex.
“I’m going to cross into your territory for a minute to see if I can pick up any cell service.” I said. “Would that be okay?”
“Of course.” Alex nodded.
“Alright.” I said and put the phone back in my pocket. “I’m going to go call for help.”
“Good luck.” Violet said before I shifted and ran towards the border.
Tobias trembled from exhaustion, but I forced us to push through. There was no time to waste. Tyson was knocked out and Valeria was gone.
I was next in command, and I needed to look after my people now.
When I crossed the border, I shifted back and took out my phone from my pocket. With the phone reaching over my head, I walked further away from the border while trying to find enough signal to make a phone call.
When I finally found some cell service, I dialed a number and waited until a groggy voice picked up on the other end of the line.
“Hello.”
“Mr Sampson?” I said. “It’s Kayden, Tyson’s Beta.”
“Kayden?” Mr Sampson said in disbelief. “Why are you calling? It’s three o’clock in the morning.”
“Yeah, I’m sorry about that.” I said awkwardly. “I need your help. Valeria is in a lot of trouble.”
Mr Sampson was instantly on high alert.
“I’m on my way.”

Tyson POV
Kayden, Garrett, Alex, Evy, Violet and I had gathered in my office and were busy telling Mr Sampson everything that had been going on for the past few days. Mr Sampson listened, his eyes wide in disbelief.
“So let me get this straight.” Mr Sampson said and stood up. “You were attacked by a witch who got you under her spell. You Alpha commanded anyone that would go against you, and you tried to execute Valeria for treason.”
“And me.” Garrett huffed.
“And Garrett.” Mr Sampson added and gestured to Garrett. “And now Valeria is gone.”
I nodded and looked down.
“I’m sorry.” I whispered.
“It’s not your fault, Tyson.” Kayden immediately said. “You have nothing to be sorry for.”
Mr Sampson nodded.
“Kayden’s right.” He agreed. “I know that you would never hurt Valeria.”
“And yet she was hurt because of me.” I croaked out. “I’m never going to forgive myself for that.”
“And that’s okay.” Mr Sampson replied. “But what’s important right now is that we find Valeria. I think you both have some healing to do.”
I nodded.
“So you have any clue about where she might have gone?” I asked.
“I talked to my sister, Valeria’s mother.” Mr Sampson replied. “But she hasn’t been in contact with anyone in the family. My best guess is that she has used some of her contacts from MI6 to go underground for a while. At least, that’s what she’s trained to do.”
“Can you find out where she is?” I asked.
“There are a few places I could think of.” Mr Sampson said. “I’ve already called Sam and asked her to check them out.”
“Whatever you need, it’s yours.” I immediately replied.
“Thank you.” Mr Sampson replied. “I will go make some phone calls.”
He left the office while I felt my throat closing up.
“I need a minute.” I said and got up. “You’re dismissed.”
They all got up and started to leave while I strolled over to the window, feeling their gazes burning holes in my back.
I knew they were worried about me, and I hated myself for not being strong enough for them right now.
But I just couldn’t.
All I could think about was Valeria, and the worry felt like it was choking me. Every cell in my body screamed at me to get my mate back, and I prayed to the Moon Goddess that she was okay.
