It does not take much convincing to get me to stay with Alex after cross country practice on Monday. It really doesn’t take any convincing at all, I think I might be able to needle him for some more information about Al. But then Alex looks so flustered when he asks me that I let him flounder for a little while. He came up to me before practice started, and he was wearing the jacket I had borrowed, and I’m pretty sure he hasn’t washed it yet. When he asked, I was eating a granola bar, which he evidently didn’t realize and kept going before I could say anything. “I know the meet was really difficult for you, and I think this will help, and I really just want to get to the bottom of this. Help you get to the bottom of this I mean.” He started to blush, and I just raised my eyebrows at him
