Chapter Three- Absolute Realization

907 Words
If she had known she was going to agree at the end. That her stubbornness was not going to take her far. She would not have contributed her all to fighting back the feelings and even more so, run away from home. She regretted it, crying and sobbing and staring at the gown in disbelief. Wiping her tears away from her eyes, she listened as the clock in the room ticked away. This was painful to her but she would live through it, for the goddess, for fate. Painfully, she could not admit she was in love with him. She has and always had been even when she never realized it. She woke up to her someone waking her up, shaking her shoulder. She looked up with half closed eyes. She didn’t know how she fell asleep in her cot and not on her bed. The sun was out and the birds were chirping. “Wake up Maya.. its today,” her mum spoke She rubbed her eyes as she sat up. It was better to get it done. The faster they got married, the better chances of going with the plan. “You left your wedding items in my room, i came to give them to you so you can prepare”, her mum continued. “He is your fated mate Maya, and the alliance would be better for the members of our pack and theirs. You are doing it for the family and future”, her mum whispered. She already knew this. She didn’t know why she was allowing her mum repeat herself. She was maybe hoping for another response apart from her being his Luna. She walked on the ground as she bowed to her mum and dad near the altar. With glistened eyes, she saw Ken standing near his parents, smiling at her. She smiled back weakly. She was too tired to fight. He held her hands to take her into the pack as the custom. “Do you Ken Rodrigues take Maya Fernandez as your lawful mate?”, the priestess declared “Yes, she is mine. To hold and love. To protect and listen to as long as live in this world”, he enunciated. “Do you Maya Fernandez take Ken Rodrigues to be your mate?,”she repeated. “I am his, standing by him to be protected from other packs. To respect and worship as I shall live”, she said. She watched him pick up the sticks for the fire. This was her first time being aware of his movement. She could hear the beating of her heart as she stood in front of the almond tree by the borders. She had picked the city up north for the honeymoon, not like she planned anything special but her mum had whined about she not going to have the best time of her life and it’s in the honeymoon. Hesitantly, she had picked wherever. The car had decided to break down but she wasn’t in the mood to argue with Ken about him not checking the car. She had exhausted all her energy mentally. He stood there with intense emotion as he watched her look at the tree. She lighted up as the fire began to spread. He had purposely stopped the car and told her it was a battery issue. She was his Luna and they needed to talk, be friends like they were while growing up. He knew he could kiss her and her legs would butter up. He had seen it happen several times but beyond that why was she distant. Was she disappointed they would have to leave her parents and build a new pack. “Let’s sit and watch. I would check the car in the morning “,he muttered under his breath. It wasn’t fear, it was not knowing how he would show her he loved her from the beginning. He touched her cheek and she could feel the warmth of his hands on her. “Are you okay?”, he wanted to be as good and gentle as any person. He didn’t want the fear everyone had for an Alpha. He looked at her and smiled, she smiled back and he kissed her. With intense pleasure under the moonlight, he gently removed her dress, touching her body. His eyes filled with genuine emotion met hers, bringing out a silent connection. They didn’t need to talk to know how they wanted each other. The gentle breeze hit her body as she shivered under his touch, he reached her hand intertwining lightly. He kissed her yet again and her hands slowly moved to his hair. Time seemed to slow down and it felt the world was theirs. In the depth of their gaze, a range of emotions appeared unrestrained . He pulled her closer, like a force so magnetic drawing them into a realm where nothing mattered. He stood up and his clothes dropped showing his body, fine scars from fights he had. She swallowed her saliva while he came down on her. Breathless whispers as he entered her, she moaned and looked up to him surrendering silently to the intoxicating desire of passion. The fire became a sanctuary, witnessing the union of two souls fighting for an unforgettable journey though the world of love. In the morning, she wasn’t there anymore. Her clothes and sandals were all gone.
