Chapter 3

I quickly left the house and slammed the door behind me. I took a deep breath as I felt constricted. My world was turned upside down and I wanted to scream or cry. It was pure emotional chaos inside me, which is why I didn't know what to do. Somehow I couldn't show any real reaction. I ran through the garden to the edge of the forest. I had to transform urgently. This allowed me to at least let something out a little bit. I ran a few steps into the forest and then transformed into my wolf. That's why it tore my clothes, but I didn't care. That wasn't important at that moment. The familiar sound of my bones breaking could be heard as I began to shift into my wolf form. The first few transformations were incredibly painful, but each time it became less so. By now it was bearable and didn't cause me much pain. Maybe that was because I generally endured a lot. Living under the same roof with my father for 20 years had caused many injuries. My white paws were visible shortly afterwards and I immediately ran off. I knew exactly where I was going, so I turned right. The forest was as familiar to me as the back of my hand, so I knew a few shortcuts. Thanks to this I was able to run through the middle of the forest. Lilia spoke up and said: "Layla, there is no way we are going to this Blackmoon. Ever. I want to find our mate, get married and get my happy ending." No, what she didn't say. This discussion was pointless and too much for me at that moment. But I could understand her need to talk about it. So I stayed calm and replied, "Neither do I. This beast will do something to us otherwise. The rumors are no coincidence." My paws flew across the forest floor, barely touching the ground. The quicker I reached my goal, the better. "I agree with you. There shouldn't be a crueler man. We can never go there. This is a bottomless impudence. I will kill your father. Then Jason is the Alpha, he will work out a better solution with Alpha Blackmoon." This plan was pure madness. We could never manage to kill him, my father was too strong for that. He may be a universally hated Alpha, but he also had his followers. Loyal submissive dogs that served him and did whatever he wanted. However, I had to bring my she-wolf into reality before she built any more castles in the air. Or got lost in this idea and ended up bitterly disappointed. One of us had to remain rational. " Lilia, please listen to me carefully now and let me finish." The good one was far too fond of interrupting when she was upset. She grumbled, which I took as a yes. "Jason and my mum are discussing it now. So we'll wait and see what conclusion the three of them come to." I just jumped over a small stream and easily without touching the water. Then the sprint continued. I could also see a deer running away. They were afraid of us, even though we would never hurt them. Still, his behavior was understandable, if I were a real wolf I would hunt this animal. Surprisingly, Lilia remained silent, probably thinking about it. I had to slow down my run as a fallen tree came into my field of vision. It was a large one that wasn't quite on the ground as it was held up by another tree. Given my size, it was easier if I crawled through the bottom. I squeezed under it and then increased my speed again. It was as if I was trying to escape the cruel reality with this run. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a terrible realization hit me. My father never let himself be dissuaded from an idea or action. He did everything that came to his mind. According to him, the contract had long since been signed. That meant I basically had no choice. If Alpha Blackmoon really wanted to kill everyone and everything, then I had to go. One ruined life was better than that of countless people. My wolf had apparently listened to my thoughts, because she said angrily: "No, I'll never say a word to you again if you do that. Never again!" To emphasize it, she isolated herself, which is why she became unreachable for me. I didn't file a complaint because it was pointless. I had to deal with my own thoughts. For this I needed peace, which my she-wolf couldn't give me.
