MORNING SPRINT

ALIONA'S POV My body tingled with so much sensation as I woke up. Mystic was strangely restless. I was still getting used to having her as my wolf. I got out of bed, and she stirred inside of me violently. The sun was barely up in the sky. ‘Let’s go out for a morning sprint,’ Mystic purred. That sounded like a good idea to wash off the pent up tension that lined my muscles. “Fine.” I slipped out of my pajamas, and changed into leggings and a converse. It was a tad bit worn out, but it could still do. I stashed a change of clothes into my bag, and stepped out of the room. By the time I was out, Aunt Emma was already dressed for work. Her face lit up, when her gaze rested on me. “Aliona, you're up already!” She said, I nodded. “Yes, I want to sprint a little before I go to the pack house,” Silence rented the air around us. She covered the distance between us, and managed a small smile. “It doesn't matter what happened yesterday, you're still my cute little baby,” She tugged my hair behind my ears, “With the brightest smile, and oh, the most intelligent girl too,” She chuckled. My voice got caught in my throat. “Thank you, Aunt Emma,” “Um, I made grilled chicken and mashed potatoes,” She said. My stomach walls constricted. “Leftovers from the Clarks…” My voice trailed off. “Honey, it's not that bad,” She tried to explain. “Alright, I'll make sure I get groceries from the supermarket and make you something fresh to eat,” I shook my head, fighting back tears. “It's not that, Aunt Emma. You're the best…” I began, my voice almost a whisper. “Sophia—” I stopped abruptly mid-sentence. How do I tell her Sophia makes fun of me for eating her leftovers? It would definitely break Aunt Emma. But eating decent meals were subjected to the crumbs she picked off their table. I inhaled sharply. “I'm sure the Moon goddess would help me get my scholarship, and when I become the pack's doctor, you won't have to feed off their leftovers anymore,” She grinned. I caught a glimpse of tears at the corner of her eyes, she was fighting so hard to hold back. “I'm certain my baby,” She said, “Wherever your parents are, I'm sure they'll be proud of you,” She rubbed her hands softly against my chin. A strange emotion ripped through my entirety. I hated to be a burden to her. Still, I couldn't help it. She sighed. Then, she looked down at her wristwatch. “I have to go now,” She paused and kissed my forehead, “Enjoy your sprint,” Aunt Emma said and was about to step out, when I called. “Aunt Emma…” The woman turned to face me. I hesitated for a bit, “Why do you speak of my parents like they're alive?” Another smile broke out of the corner of her lips. “I like to think they're alive. Honey, is there a problem?” I shook my head. “No, not in the slightest. Have a nice day,” She nodded and stalked off. After a few minutes of walking, I got to the woods. The smell of early morning dew filled my nose. My vein rippled with a surge of energy. I zoned out, and in a split moment my bones cracked, and shifted till I was in my wolf's form. I sprinted through the woods, till the sun appeared in the skies, flaunting its warm golden rays on the environment. I shifted into my human form, and had a change of clothes. I broke into a run to my house, and a quick warm shower and rushed to the pack house. “You're late!” The head made Susan said. I bowed my head, “I'm sorry. I got caught in something,” She scoffed. “What could be more important than your duties to the pack house?” Susan was one of those Omegas that despised me. My humiliation at the grand hall only amplified her animosity towards me. No response. Since I didn't know what to say. She continued. “If you think you stand a chance of getting marked by the triplets then you're in for a long time,” She sighed. “Here, take this to Logan's room. He specifically asked you to bring it,” She handed me a tray that had his breakfast. I took it, and headed for the second floor that housed just three suites— the triplets suite. My heart pulsated in my ribcage, as I pushed the button. I waited with bated breath. One. Two. Three. I counted in my head. Then, “Come in,” A deep masculine voice echoed from behind the door. I sighed, and stepped into the room. My throat went dry when I saw Logan. From his looks, it was obvious he was just coming out of the bathroom. My eyes hovered over his physique. The first thing that held me in chokehold, was his sleek brown hair that fell over his forehead in small waves. His hazel eyes held an intense stare to it. I didn't even want to start with his near perfect facial structure. Razor sharp jaw, and his broad shoulders, my goodness. A small shiver coursed through my spine. I couldn't hide the attraction I felt towards them. It was there, even though they wouldn't think twice before severing it. His hard rock abs, trailed down to display full blown groin. It was…I swallowed hard, and shook my head frantically to push back the thoughts. Noah groaned. “I know I'm irresistible, but sadly you're not my type,” He seethed through clenched teeth. A lump gathered around my throat. I gingerly dragged my leg to the small table, and placed the tray on the table, with trembling hands. I spun around, and was about to head out, when a strong hand snaked around my waist. A small gasp escaped the corner of my lips, as Noah pinned me against the wall effortlessly. He grinded against me. I felt a hardness crushing against my thighs, and warmth blossomed between my legs. I shouldn't be so attracted to people who couldn't be seen in public with me, but I couldn't help it. He pulled off my glasses, but my vision didn't blur. His fangs sliced out. My heartbeat slowed to a crawl, for a moment, I thought he was about to mark me. He snorted, “Aliona, you're stuck here, you better get used to being hurt, over and over again,” My heart ached. I made to speak, when he placed his hands over my lips, cutting me off. “Don’t say a single word till I'm done,” He cut in, “It’s you against us, Aliona. There's no winning this no matter how you try,” Noah pushed his head forward, and lashed his tongue against my earlobe and sucked on it. I moaned, and quickly pressed my lips together to cut it off. ‘Toughen up, Aliona…see through their schemes for once in your life,’ A tiny voice said in my head. I couldn't help it with the unhealthy amount of aura that dripped through pore on their skin. To them, I might be a plaything, but to me… They were my first loves. “Noah, please…” I pleaded. Mystic stirred, angry at my weakness. I suppressed her. Even in her anger, I knew she wanted them too. A shadow crossed his eyes, “Get out!” He let out a low growl. I snapped out of the trance his touch had against me, and quickly ran out. Thankfully, I got to school before the first bell went off. I hurriedly went to my locker and clicked it open. A small envelope fell out. I opened it, and my heart sank when I read the content of the letter. “Oh poor orphan you should be happy I put you to good use,” Sophia's voice reached my ears. Her eyes glistened with mischief. She shrugged, “The hockey team has training in twenty minutes, you don't want to be late for your first day at work,” She smacked her lips, and stalked off, closely followed by her minions.
