Blurb

Daniel is a wealthy businessman who seems to care only about himself. Beneath his designer suits and harsh tones, however, he hides a kind heart. A heart with a soft spot for the girl he once loved—and believing that there is no one out there like that.

Rose will never dream of living in a mansion or driving a fancy car, but rather she likes it in a simple way. Her job gives her enough money to pay her share of rent, and she truly believes she is happy. Except, she can't shake the feeling that life is meant to be shared with a special someone. Someone whom she once loved, but hasn't seen in years.

They have very different ideals and stand on opposite sides of the social spectrum, but can it be possible that they are just what each other needs?

Will they find the love they once shared? Or has time and social expectations driven them too far apart?

People of any age can read this story.

All these years of hard work in London have paid off, and now I am one of the wealthiest men in the world as well as the most handsome bachelor if you care to listen to the talk in town. Personally, I care more for the first title. Love is not one of my priorities. KING's Industries is the leading company in all business matters, and the company is my first and only love. I hate New York. During my childhood here, as an orphan, the people of this city treated me with nothing but contempt and disdain. Eight years have passed since I left, but I reckon their opinion of me would have risen considerably given the fact that I now have more wealth and power than any of them could ever dream of. When I left eight years ago, I swore I'd never return, but something in me wants to go back to that place. I don't know why, but I get the sense that something important is waiting for me in New York, and thus I've decided to settle in the city of my past. Consequently, I've had to move my company's headquarters from London to New York. Thank god I found a new PA in New York, because my PA's in London were a all huge pain in my ass. I hope this new PA won't follow their example. My reputation has people shaking in fear. They call me "the curse of the world" and yet girls still fall at my feet like autumn leaves. Once they get to know me they usually can't get away fast enough, though. Luckily not all of my London employees were utterly useless, so I brought a few of them to New York with me. My life hasn't always been this perfect. I clearly remember the day, eight years ago, when I first felt that there was something missing from my life. FLASHBACK: Eight years ago: It's another ordinary morning and there is nothing new or changed about my room in the orphanage. The windows are still cracked and filthy, the paint on the walls is still steadily pealing away and dusting the floor with tiny brown flakes. I hate this place, because I have to wake up before everyone else and do everyone's chores. I plan to move to a new place on my own since I'm already twenty, but I have to save enough money so that I can run away from this hell. As I get out of bed, I get this strange feeling that everything is different about my life and yet nothing has obviously changed. I want to cry, but I don't know why I feel this way. Sometimes I miss my parents, but this feeling is 1000% stronger than anything I have ever felt before. I feel like someone has snatched my life from me. I cry throughout the day without any reasonn. I just can't seem to stop the tears. FLASHBACK ENDS. After sometime I had enough money, so I moved to London and started my business there. The feeling that something is missing still persists, though. It's always worse when I am alone or feeling sad. No one knows this side of me. I'll land in New York in a few hours, and despite all the negative memories I have of the city, I feel strangely happy to be back. It feels as though I'm finally returning home. With these thoughts I close my eyes for some rest.
