Unexpected Answers

Brielle's POV That was probably the weirdest interaction of my life last night. After Kristian left, I kinda just absently pet Rosie while my brain spiraled in a million different directions. The night was restless. When I finally got to sleep, I was already running. No fire, no woman. Why had it changed after all this time? Did Kristian have something to do with it? Was he really what was going to lead me to who I really am? What was that fuzzy feeling that made me nauseous when he touched my head? Why did he run out right after? All I managed to sleep was two hours. I hop up peeling my eyes from the clock. I decide I'm going to take a shower and get ready to go. Kristian said he'd help me find answers and, for some reason, I trust him. I get a pang in my stomach like someone would feel longing for someone special when I bring Kristian to mind. I brush it off and head for the bathroom. After a deep shampoo, conditioner and shave, I turned the hot water off and stood under the frigid stream. Of all the things the doctors suggested, ice wash for 5 minutes after a shower to reset your nervous system s probably the only thing I use. I dry my hair with a silk shirt and secure two tight Dutch braids down my head. I'm out the door forty minutes early so I shoot June a text, 'Couldn't sleep going to ask for a caffeine drip straight to the blood stream.' She responds back,'Damn b***h, you really are built differently.' I send some off the wall gif and head towards our coffee shop. Instead of June waiting for me when I arrive at campus, it's Kristian. 'My gods he's yummy.' My inner monologue groans as I put my car in park. I hop out, and a smile spreads across my face," Mr. Moonstone." He beams back, "Ms. Hansen, I thought the sunrise beautiful until I lay my eyes upon you." I giggled and cleared my throat," Really? The sunrise pales in comparison to my beauty? That's what you're going with? I try to act nonchalant as the heat creeps up my chest again. His face falls serious and his eyes darken with lust," The sunrise, set even the moon and stars pale to you Little Wolf. He cups my face and starts to lean in. "Brielle, are you going to introduce me to our new friend?" June chimed in from behind me. We both jump and take a step back," Um, for sure. Kristian. June. June. Kristian." He extended his hand to her," It's a pleasure to meet you, June. "The pleasure is all mine, I assure you." She smiled at him and I felt a twinge of jealousy. 'What the f**k is that about?' I lectured myself internally as we all wandered towards our classes. Kristian seems to have all the same classes as me, which is unexpected, but I can't help but feel giddy inside. Much to my dismay though, he spends the first couple of classes flitting around with different people. It wasn't until the third class of the day that he appeared next to me again. "Woof two 90 minute blocks of trying to expand my horizons, and you know what I've found, Ms. Hansen?" "What'd you learn, Mr. Moonstone?" I said, absently biting my lower lip. He grabs my hand," That you Little Wolf, are the only company I want to have." He smiles flirtatiously. I rolled my eyes, "You just don't quit, do you?" "Nope!" He smiles and pulls out two drink shakers for protein shakes," Hey, would you like some of this health smoothie? I made too much, it helps with nerves and inflammation." I exaggerated suspicion on my face," So a guy I just met yesterday offers me a mystery drink he concocted and im just supposed to drink it, no questions?" He smiled," Sure why not, don't you trust me?" The question seemed serious despite the lighthearted conversation. "Yes." I blurt out before it really registers, "Yes, Kristian, I trust you." He beams and hands me the shaker. I'm amazed at how amazing it tastes. By the end of class, I hand him an empty shaker," So I see you hated it?" He chuckles and extends his hand to me, "Shall we stroll to our next class Little Wolf?" That nickname creates a tornado of butterflies every time he says it. I grab his hand, fire explodes throughout my body, as if I've never been touched before today. 'Mate.' A voice sounds in my head, "Mate?" I repeated the voice. His eyes lit up, "what did you just say?" I freeze when the voice chimes in again, 'Finally someone can hear me! I've been trapped in that box forever!' "Mate!" I squealed excitedly and wrapped my arms around his neck, and kissed him hungrily. I realized how weird what I'd just done and pulled back," okay what the f**k is happening?" I asked breathlessly. He gathered himself," Honestly he said it'd take longer for that to wear down the magic. Would you like to go to your house instead of class?" The voice inside me whines and agrees eagerly, a low growl escapes my throat. "I don't think that's a good idea." "Why's that Little Wolf?" "Because I have a feeling this conversation will bring answers. However, if we're alone at my house, I see very little talking happening." He lets out a laugh and pulls me into him," Who says I won't just take you right here?" I smile and step back, "Simple, I'm starving and walking out. Would you accompany me to dinner?" The scent he gives off is intoxicating. It takes all of my brain power to even move. We headed towards my truck. We drove in silence to this little mom-and-pop diner two blocks from my house. I take the time to assess what's going on as every nerve ending in my body is screaming for Kristian to touch me. I've never felt like this. Despite my flirtatious and forward behavior with him, I'm a virgin. A hyper-aroused one, but a virgin nonetheless. So why, after a measly 48 hours of knowing him, do I want to bind our souls?
