“I wish you would have stayed back home, where I know you would be safe.”
I look back over my shoulder at Nolan. I’m currently looking through some of the bushes in the forest around the pack house and village, hoping to find any signs of the wendigo. It’s been tormenting the pack since we all came here and I have a feeling we brought it with us, that it’s a member of the Seraphic clan. The weather is starting to turn cold and I can see my breath in front of my face. I let out a deep breath, making the fog cloud in front of me.
“I can help Nolan. I’ve seen the creature before at Sohesis.”
Movement in my peripheral vision catches my attention further back. I focalize my attention on the tree line, waiting for whatever it is that is lurking to show itself.
