Cian had that expression, the one that states, ‘imma get you out of this and then punish you myself'.
For me both sides of the stream didn’t look too appealing. After giving us a once over, when he was sure we weren’t harmed, yet, he turned to address the vampire.
“Dominic. I see you’ve met my mate and sister, although I would’ve preferred it under different circumstances. Or maybe never at all” he said, his teeth clenched due to anger.
“Ah Alpha, you wound me. Keeping such treasure all to yourself, that’s not fair now is it? I do have a question, how is it that the Almighty Apha has a were mate but a human sister?” taunted the vampire, Dominic.
“That’s none of your business. It was a pleasure meeting you but I’ll be leaving now, got loads of work pending. Adeline, Mia, here now. We're leaving”
As soon as he commanded us, our bodies moved to obey his orders, but within a second we were stopped by the vampire, whose name I now knew to be Dominic. He was here in the stream with us. This was not good. Not good at all.
The moment he was in front of us, Cian made a move to come straight to us but Dominic’s hands near Addy’s stomach and his menacing snarl made him stop dead in his tracks.
This vampire was just asking to be killed. Did he not know how possessive wolves are towards their mates? And Cian being an alpha it was ten folds and a threat to his unborn child was only making matters worse.
“You can leave alpha. I have no objections. You, your Luna, your child and your entire pack can leave any minute, but she stays with me.” He said and traced a finger along my jaw making me shiver. "So beautiful…" he whispered lowly in her ear.
“You bastard… get your hands off of her right now or I’ll rip you to pieces” Cian growled out so loud even I had troubles standing straight and not cowering down in fear.
"No Cian, I don’t think you will.” his hand still close to Addy's stomach.
I could see a vein throbbing in Cian’s neck. He was ready to shift. All of the pack warriors were. The vampire must’ve realized this as well. He was shorthanded.
And then all hell broke loose.
He pushed Addy roughly towards Cian and Cian, along with all the warriors who were present rushed to make sure their Luna didn’t get injured and he easily got hold of me. His hands around my tiny frame pulling me towards his territory.
I trashed so hard in his hold that we were both wet by the time he was close to crossing over, and a few warriors realized what was happening. They came ahead to save me and my thrashing only grew in his hands.
Cian realized it too after making sure his mate was secure and he let out the most scary and loud growl I had ever heard.
“You better give her back, you bloodsucker or there will be war. I will forget about any treaty made with your forefathers right this second. Give. Her. Back.”
“Oh no, no, no, Alpha. She. Is. Mine. And she is never getting away from me. She is mine. She has always been mine. Born and brought up to be mine. All of it, her mind, her soul, her body. MINE.” the vampire behind me screamed defiantly in his deep voice.
My thrashing hadn’t seized, there were dark bruises on my hands, cuts all over my legs and I’m sure my waist and hips were also bruised. No one realized this fact until the first drop of blood fell from my hand, I had cut myself somehow, maybe the cuffs of my jacket, I didn’t know.
I knew this was the end. I was in the arms of a vampire and I had started to lose blood. But it didn’t happen.
“Shh love, stop thrashing around, you will hurt yourself even more. Just stop now.” He was speaking to me, so soft and so soothingly it felt unreal.
Cian was screaming, I was thrashing and then it happened.
He slipped one hand tightly around my waist, the other securing my head, a tight grip on my neck, exposing one side to him.
The emotions and feelings inside me were running so high that I couldn’t even hear what was going around me, I could only hear the pounding of my heart and the blood rushing through my veins.
He bit me, drinking deeply and I succumbed to darkness.
