After a while, their grandma called them to eat breakfast.
“Let’s go and eat” Grandmother Ara said
“Okay” The four said in unison as they went out of the room one by one and sat at the chairs, ready to eat the food the grandmother had prepared
As they ate, Lucas mentioned his grandfather to Samira. He was describing his late grandfather with joy. He mentioned how kind and caring he was and how much he misses him.
After hearing this, the grandmother decided to take them to the cemetery and visit his grave. They all got dressed up formally to show respect to the resting soul.
“Hey pop, I decided to visit you earlier than expected” Lucas said
“I’m with my friends today. Do you remember them? You were so happy when you adopted them.” He said while Nefeli and Anderson stood near him
“Oh, and I also have a new friend, Samira” He said as Samira stepped forward
“Hi Grandfather Apollo, your grandsons told me so much about you and they grew up so well” Samira said with a smile as she placed a beautiful flower on his grave. The boys smiled as they saw her doing this.
“Such a waste that I couldn’t met you” She said
“I’d probably also be as kind as they are” She added
The boys’ smile became wider as they laughed together
“Oh yeah, grandma told me to bring food, we should eat first” Anderson said
“I also have a blanket we can sit in while eating” Nefeli said
He set the blanket into the grass as they sat and ate there.
After they ate, they packed up and cleaned their spot and decided to rest under a tree.
While everyone else was sleeping, Lucas was staring at Samira. He looked away for a second, hoping he wouldn’t fall for her.
Little did he know, he already fell. He, of course knows that he likes her. He wanted to tell her but decided to keep it a secret.
When he saw that Samira was about to wake up along with Anderson, he quickly pretended to sleep.
“Samira” Anderson called for her attention
“Hey, is something wrong?” Samira asks
“Since the first time I saw you, I knew you were going to make me happy” he said
“Huh? What do you mean?” She asks
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“What? I still don’t get it”
“I like you” Anderson confessed
Lucas, who heard their conversation, turned his back around slowly as a tear dropped from his eyes.
“Did you hit your head or something?” Samira asks
“Samira, listen, I’m not joking. This is serious” He said with a stern voice
“Why? Why would you like me?” Samira asks
“You were kind towards me and you’re a lovely friend but I want to be more than that. You deserve love from someone like me”
“But – “
“What are you guys doing?” Nefeli suddenly woke up and had interrupted the two
“We were talking, isn’t it obvious?” Anderson replied
“It’s almost sundown. We should wake Lucas up too” Samira said
She wakes him up, not knowing he was listening to the conversation the entire time.
He stood up and pretended to be awake from a deep sleep.
But they quickly noticed his eyes that were red from crying.
“What happened to your eyes?” Samira asks
“Oh, what’s wrong with them?”
“They’re red”
“Oh, I’m probably just too tired” He said
“Come on, we’re going home” Anderson said with a smile on his face
Lucas decided to hide his feelings for Samira for the sake of his friendship with Anderson.
As they walked away from the cemetery,
“Wait” Lucas suddenly said as he stopped walking
“Why? Did you forget something?” Anderson asks
“Can’t you guys hear the sound?” Lucas asks
“What sound?” Samira asks
“Never mind” He said as he shakes his head
And as they faced the forest, a sound was heard again
“There! Can’t you guys hear it?” Lucas said again
“No, we didn’t hear anything Lucas” Nefeli said
“Don’t try to scare us now, we’re not kids anymore” Anderson commented
“I’m being serious this time. I heard something as we walked by the forest” He said, pointing the direction where he thinks the sound was coming from
“We should hurry up before the sun completely goes down” Nefeli said
As they walked towards home, Lucas heard it again but decided to ignore it this time.
When they got home, their grandmother had already prepared food for them
“Why were you guys late” Grandmother Ara asks
“We stayed a bit at the cemetery” Anderson said
“Oh, by the way, I’m heading out to buy more food” Grandmother Ara said
“I’ll buy it for you later, you should rest for now” Nefeli said
She suddenly noticed Lucas weak posture and body languages so she decided to ask
“Is everything alright, Lucas?”
“Yeah, I’m just going to rest a bit more” He answered as he enters the room.
After a while, his grandmother enters his room to comfort him as she sees him crying.
“Why are you crying? What’s wrong?” She asks
“I just miss grandpa” He said as he wiped his tears away.
She comforts him once again and left him to rest.
She slowly left the room and prepared more food for them.
“There’s more food” the grandmother said
“Is Lucas still sleeping?” Samira asks
“I should wake him up” Anderson said about to stand up
“Leave him be for now” grandmother Ara said as he sat him down.
“Did something happen?” Nefeli asks
“Nothing had happened, he just misses his grandfather so let’s leave him alone for now” The grandmother replied
The atmosphere was silent before Grandmother Ara spoke up
“You guys should eat your food while it’s still hot” She said as they all nod their heads
They understood how Lucas was feeling right now so they decided to eat, and cleaned up after.
As the clock strikes 4 in the morning, Lucas woke up while everyone else was still sleeping and the sky barely had any light. He looks around and was about to go back to sleep but, he heard the sound again. His eyes immediately shot as his body stands up. The sound was like music to his ears as he heard this.
He immediately got dressed and went outside to follow it. But as he does this, he didn’t notice he wasn’t being to careful and accidentally woke the others up.
They immediately decided to follow him, worried painted all over their faces.
“Lucas! Where are you going?” They shout towards him.
“I think he’s following something…. remember that sound he mentioned yesterday?” Nefeli said
As he continues to walk, the sound became louder and louder.
He suddenly stops in the middle of the forest in the feet of the mountain as he looks down.
He slowly approaches the ground and started digging. Luckily, his friends caught up to him and tried to stop him. He didn’t have anything with him to use to dig deeper except his bare heads. He was like so hypnotized by the sound that made him follow the sound and didn’t stop until he found the source.
His friends tried stopping him using their force but stopped when they saw a glow.
They helped him as he continues to dig. At the bottom of the pit, there lies the same purple stained glass ball Lucas saw in his dream.
The first thing that came to his mind was immediately the "Space orb" from the story of ‘The arcane stone’ told by his very own grandfather.
“I knew it. Their instincts were right” He said
“What do you mean?” Samira asks
He stares at the glowing orb “The story is true”
“Wait, we should take it home” Nefeli suggests
Lucas took the glowing orb and the moment he touched it, the orb glowed more and a gumesmerizing portal appeared right in front of their eyes.As the sun hits their faces, they immediately ran towards home.
Lola!,sigaw ni lucas pagdating ng bahay,
Bumangon si lola ara galing sa mahimbing na tulog nang marinig nya ang sigaw ni lucas mula sa labas.Pagkatayo nya ay agad nyang binuksan ang pinto at nakita si lucas na nakatayo sa labas ng pinto.
Lola ara, I found the space orb!, Sabi ni lucas ng nakangiti.
"What is that?throw that thing away".sabi ni lola ara na nakasimangot ang boses.
"Bakit?totoo nga yung kwento ni lolo apollo!woahh"sabi ni lucas
"Anong totoo?kwento kwento lang yan".sabi ni lola ara.
"Tama nga..."
"Sinabi nang itapon mo yan diba?!
Inagaw ni lola ara ang kulay purple na bola at nahulog ito sa lupa at biglang umilaw ang orb.
"See?totoo nga yung kwento.."sabi ni lucas.
"Laruan lang yan."sabi ni lola ara.
(Lucas)"Pero..
(Ara) Lucas.
(Lucas) "Lola..
(Ara) Lucas!.
(Lucas)"Totoo yung..
(Ara)Lucas!!!
(Lucas)Ano?!! Bakit tinatago nyo pa sakin ang totoo??
(Ara) Kase papatayin ka nila!
"Alam nyo po ang totoo?"
Oo!
"Bakit di nyo sinabi sakin?
"Kase nga papatayin ka nila!
"Sino?bakit?"
Umupo sila sa mesa at seryosong naguusap,habang nakikinig ang tatlo nilang kaibigan.
"Lucas oo totoo ang nasa kwento"sabi ni lola ara.
"kelan nyo pa po nalaman?.tanong ni anderson
"Matagal na naming tinatago ng lolo apollo nyo ang tungkol sa kwento,Matagal na ring sinakop ng Isang nilalang ang mundong iyon.
Sabi ni lola ara ng seryoso ang boses habang nakikinig lamang ang apat.
"Ang lolo apollo nyo,hindi sya ipinanganak sa mundo naten..
"Galing po sya sa Crotoa?tanong ni lucas.
"Oo..
Sabi ni lola ara at Nagulat ang lahat sa kanilang narinig.
"Isa po syang crotonians?tanong ni nefeli.
"Oo..
"Bakit Wala syang sinabi samin tungkol sa pagkatao nya?tanong ni lucas.
"Delikado lucas,may humahabol sa lolo apollo nyo,lalo na sayo lucas..
"Sakin?bakit?
"Hindi dugong tao ang nananalaytay sayo lucas,isa ka ring crotonian
Sabi ni lola ara at mas lalong nagulat ang lahat sa kanyang sinabi.
"Ano?
"Oo lucas kaya kahit na Anong mangyari wag na wag kang babalik sa mundong iyon"sabi ni lola ara
"Pero pwede ko Naman silang dalawin doon diba?baka buhay pa mga pamilya ko doon"
"Wag lucas please"sabi ni lola ara
"Baka na sa panganib sila"..sabi ni lucas
"Lucas Don't be a hero"sabi ni lola ara
"Mapapatay ka lang nila.."
Nakita ni lola ara na Yumango na lamang si lucas at sinabi nyang..
"Lucas nawalan na'ko ng Isang mahal sa buhay, ayokong pati ikaw ay mawala sakin.."sabi ni lola ara
Ngumiti si lucas at niyakap ang
kanyang lola ara.
"Matulog na lng muna kayo ulit, maaga pa" sabi ni lola ara
"Opo lola" sabi ng apat
Inilagay ni lola ara ang orb sa kanyang kwarto para masiguradong walang makakagalaw nito,bumalik sina lucas sa kanilang kwarto para humiga at magpahinga.
