I nearly dropped the phone trying to answer.
“Jayla?” My voice was urgent, barely more than a breath.
“We found him, Ruby.”
The world tilted. I couldn’t breathe. My pulse roared in my ears as I gripped the phone tighter, afraid that if I let go, those words would slip through my fingers.
“Where?” My voice cracked, heavy with emotion.
“Come back to the mansion now,” Jayla said. “Shadow’s team is already here. We’re all waiting.”
