When Calls the Heart

Lavender's POV All employees are busy with their respective jobs. They are the people who continue to serve the company that Dad left. I went straight to my late father’s office to check out the sequence of schedules I would be performing. It was arranged by Miss Kim, his beautiful secretary. It laid out on the table the folders which contained the ones to be signed and even the schedules I would attend. Meanwhile, I'm arranging the items that are being traded to make them look good and in order. I intentionally fixed it because I was looking for something, it was Dad’s perfume formula. I can't let the staffs to find because it's confidential. Miss Kim came back for the second time, then she noticed my diligence. I just let her watch me do what I do. I smiled back at her and even winked at her. I told her not to worry about me because I was fine. She finally left the office. I leaned back in the swivel chair. I took a deep breath then exhaled. I looked up with my eyes closed. I wonder where Dad wrote the formula of his perfume? How do we get the right blend without it? I got up and went to the laboratory. I went to the empty table to start creating another blend to get the smell of it. I’ve used a lot of solutions but I still can’t get the blend. I was bored so I stood up, I removed the white coat. I first went to the office table, I took my bag then I went out. I hurriedly got in my car and drove off. I ran it fast because I wanted to have a snack. When I parked the car I hurried to get to the Coffee Shop immediately. Coincidentally I received a message from my friend. My attention was focused on my cellphone exactly as I was inside. I suddenly collided with a man. His shoulders are broad, elegant and handsome. I apologized to the man for the collision that happened. When he saw my face, he noticed that I was wearing goggles that I forgot to remove earlier when I came from the laboratory. It smelled my perfume and pronounced the name of the flower used on it. I was shocked by what he said but when I spoke he quickly said goodbye to his friend who was at the counter and then left the shop. I followed him but I never caught up with him yet. I went back inside to continue buying snacks and coffee. After I paid I carried them to an empty table. While having coffee, I could feel the fragrant and cool breeze of the air. I miss this kind of freshness here in the province. I have also been lost out here for a long time. Then when I finished I went outside, I left the coffee shop immediately. I went to a very beautiful scene that was one that my Daddy owned. Extensive Flower Farm where various types of flowers are harvested that are used to create perfume. Sadness made me laugh because until now I have not yet discovered Daddy's formula. The only thing I have is the last one he created. I put it around my neck as a necklace but it just looks like a tube, it doesn’t pay attention because it’s just small. I take great care because this is my Daddy's only unique blend. Until now, the mixture is not yet known to bring out the desired smell. Daddy is deceitful, I used to be comfortable with his health but that's how sick he feels.He sent me to Boston to study there, he was left alone while managing his business. I sighed and there I noticed the time had passed. I didn’t regret the time because I relaxed my mind. I went back to the laboratory and I was greeted by people who were diligent in discovering the formula. I help but I don’t have the ability to smell all kinds of flowers to be exactly the smell of my Daddy’s Atmosphere Perfumes. I will continue to search just in case I was in the office. From the laboratory I entered to my Daddy’s office. I read books, researched everything I could read where Daddy wrote but still nothing until I got tired. The day ended quickly until the workers left. Miss Kim also said goodbye to me. I was the last to leave the building, I thought about taking a walk before going home. My feet took me to the promenade. The air is fresh which is really fun to feel. I close my eyes with my back leaning on the long chair. Less than five minutes later I was leaning back when someone suddenly sneezed behind me to my surprise. I turned to the source of the voice, I realized he was the man I had bumped into at the Coffee Shop. He didn't even look at me but sat on a bench next to where I was sitting. He was sitting quietly and looking away from space. I approached him to make friends. “Hello I’m Lavender”, I introduced myself.Then turned to me. "Nice to meet you", I said with all my hand in front of him. He accepted it but immediately let go of my hand. I just smiled at him then sat in his chair. He just let me sit and didn't say a word. “How are you Lavender?”, he asked me. "I'm fine, are you?", "I'm fine. Thank you very much". "You are welcome". He invited me for a walk and I immediately agreed with him. I immediately stood up to accompany to the walk. He told me his name was Jack. His name suits him because of his good looks. We continued walking as I recounted that I was the one who spoke the most. We didn’t realize it was late at night already so we decided to eat. After we ate we said goodbye to each other. In all my future is in the company, I am thankful because there are Daddy’s staff who don’t give up. They continue to invent to bring out the smell of the said perfumes. After parking my car in the garage, I went straight inside the house. When I closed the door, I immediately turned around to go upstairs. I didn't expect anyone else to be here in my house. I was just surprised when he suddenly spoke. "I've been calling you before, aren't you answering my call?", he scolded me. I did not answer first but I went to my office here at home. I put down my bag then I spoke. I raised my cellphone enough for him to see it. "I left my cell phone, I just took a walk in the park and then I went out to eat", I explained to Steeven, my boyfriend. He didn't say anything but walked away from me. Maybe he bent over me because he went straight outside and finally rode home. He left me standing watching his car drive away. I sat in the swivel chair, I blew some air. I cried when I thought of Daddy. It was as if just when we were together, he made me feel his love. Everything was tailored for me because Mommy went home to heaven first. "I love you so much Daddy and I miss you so much", I tearfully closed my eyes holding my necklace containing her last scent. I pray that he will guide me so that I can continue the business he left behind. It's not a joke to run a company but I can handle it for him. He was my inspiration as I wiped away my tears. I got up to go upstairs to my room. I cleaned myself to go to sleep. I am alone in this house, I am the only one living. I am Daddy’s heir because I don’t even have a sibling. We also have a house in Boston where I lived while studying and when I started working. I rushed here to manage the company and to see even more of Daddy’s property. Right now I need to sleep first to rest. I lay down and let drowsiness take over me. While everyone was busy, I hurried out. I took my car to the Coffee Shop. Upon arrival, I went straight to the counter to Jack’s friend. I will ask him if Jack has a number for me to call. After I heard his answer, I was depressed because it also didn’t have a number on him. I copied him to get the address so I could just go. He said he was working but I was really naughty, I wanted to go. He did nothing but give it up. I wasted no time until I got to the place. I was amazed because I visited where he worked. Many people go for walks with their families. I rolled my eyes but I hadn’t seen him yet. Lots of flowers,with different types. I smile at the beautiful colors. My eyes searched for Jack until I saw him. He was holding a bunch of flowers. I hurriedly intruded on people to get close to him. When I got closer I hurriedly sniffed on his nose the strips I was carrying, it was the scent of a solution made in the laboratory. With each smell I ask what flower was used which is immediately answered. Out of joy I repeatedly sniffed the three strips I was carrying until it bored him. I walked away for a while so that he could plant the flower he was carrying first. I talk while his planting. I told her I needed someone like him who was used to smelling flowers. This surprised him but he didn't ask. I waited for him until his break time to talk in depth. I told him my purpose. Because I saw his job I offered him a job with a good salary. I told him to think carefully about what I said. Sinced I was not in a hurry I gave him my calling card with my full address. I was about to leave the place when I noticed that my necklace was gone. I was confused so I went back to Jack's flower garden. I looked around to find my necklace. Confused, I scraped Jack's plants until they were all uprooted. I don’t care if people look at me. I cried as I continued what I was doing. When I finally saw it, my tears flowed as I locked myself in my palms. Jack shuddered to see how I looked. I just bent down and stood up. There I saw that my clothes and the heels of my sandals were muddy. I shook it and then I finally left that place. It was as if I could still hear their laughter. I just cried again. When I shook my necklace, I whispered that I didn't want to lose it. Then I have reached my home. I will put on new clothes before going to the laboratory. Steeven greeted me. I immediately asked if anyone had hit the right smell of Atmosphere Perfumes. He answered me not yet. I was devastated to hear. I said goodbye to Steeven to finally enter the laboratory. I sat down at the former table to continue the invention. I stood up to check all the employees but they were all doing their best to discover the formula. I was stunned to see that Steeven was not in the laboratory. I went to His office. He is Daddy’s Vice President and my current boyfriend. I saw him talking on the cellphone but I couldn't hear what they were talking about. I didn’t bother him, I left and went back to the laboratory. The next day I went to Jack again to say hello and ask my offer to him. When his boss saw me, he mistaken me for his girlfriend. Jack just laughed at his boss. We walked away from the people for a while just enough to hear our voices. He hasn't told me to grab my offer yet but I just let him. As long as it's important I offered him the decision is still up to him. I just said I was waiting for his decision. I finally said goodbye to him. I'm going straight to my house. I just stay in the house, I am going to the laboratory tomorrow. I just called Miss Kim to supervise them while I am out of their sight. I thought Steeven was there first, he would replace me there for a while. I am currently at the top of my house, I have just finished getting dressed because I am going to enter the laboratory. Because it's too early for me I will do the rest of what I'm doing here at home. Suddenly I heard heavy footsteps. Then someone calls my name. The voice was still far away from me so I went out. I ran down the stairs as the voice came up. I answered as I knew it was close. I was surprised to see Jack. I smiled broadly because I knew he was accepting my job offer. I let first introduced and let see around here at home. I could hear him praising and I just let him do because I could see that he was enjoying himself. I also took him to the laboratory to start his work. I first introduced Steeven who was my bf, I said new employee would help us to explore Daddy’s formula. He agreed because he could do nothing. After I got around and introduced him to the staff, I gave Jack a white coat and goggles that we wore together. We headed to the vacant table to start the mixture. As we do the work because of Jack and I’s mistake we go through a laugh. Because our tables are far away from other staff, we don't bother. We both work more productively. The more we formulate that formula we still don’t get the smell I want. Steeven is always in the office, only enters the laboratory when a formula is developed. I only let him because he is Vice President and his attention is always on the cellphone. Sometimes I just see him running when Jack and I pass by the table. I'm not affected by what he's doing because we're just working. Gone are the days that the scene was like that. We did a lot of process but still nothing was discovered in the smell of Daddy’s perfumes. I still don't lose hope especially now that Jack is there to help me a lot. I will continue to explore the formula. I explained to Jack all that Atmosphere Perfumes is the leader in supplying throughout Asia. Orders are bulky in markets including malls. So I do everything to keep Daddy’s perfume name as I thank him. He nodded at me that he understood me. The employees were happy to be with Jack because he was kind. It is obvious to Miss Kim that she admires Jack because he is hardworking and reliable. Everyone is happy when they are at work. Steeven pushes when the staff is having fun even during break time. I only let him because he was always in the Office. It’s not like I’m helping the laboratory to bring out the original mixture. His pushing didn't stop Jack and I from doing our job. We just concentrated on what I wanted to discover. To reduce my haste and confusion because I wanted to discover Daddy’s formula, I went out to inhale the air. Walking in the yard first to relieve my stress. I was too beautiful and young to worry about Daddy’s business. I remembered Daddy and Mommy again but I just smiled secretly because I was fine.
