Chapter 5

"What?!" Mira asked loudly as she stood up and look at Salem in disbelief. Salem just leaned at the backrest and sit in a manly way. Mattheo and Freddy looked at her in the same way as Mira did.

"I mean, I don't like this either. So call it quits and honestly speaking, I prefer to sleep in my room." She shrugged, "We both sense that there's something you don't like."

"What do you mean by 'we'?" Freddy asked in confusion. Mira glanced at the candle that unlit earlier.

"None of your business, Elf."

"The wolf," Mattheo replied to Freddy.

"However, Zachary has been told that he's always been a busy person so... I need to cut the crap. That hound is just a lazy man. Signing papers is too easy yet he always using that as an escape from doing what's his task."

"He might be calm but his rabies kills you within a second." Her gaze darted at Mira and Salem's gaze grew wider, "He kissed you, right? Oh my goodness, thankfully you're not dead yet." She said while trying to conceal her laughter. Salem stood up and hugged Mira dramatically, "Oh my dear, I'm sorry for that. I know what's the cure," Mira faced her and was about to cry after hearing that. Salem laughs hysterically and stood up straightly.

"Just kidding, you won't be dead by your mate's saliva. I'm just fooling around because that bastard secretly follows me on my way here like a f*****g mosquito who craves blood. Only laughingstocks will eavesdrop on the other side of the door and expecting that their silhouette can't be seen." Three of them looked at the gap between the door and the floor, causing Salem to laugh once again.

"Three of you are truly fools. That's just my shadow. I didn't know that creatures who are older than me are fun to mess with." Mattheo glared at her while Mira and Freddy stared at her in horror, "Don't worry I won't sleep here. My shadow will guard your room at night." She sits back on the sofa and yawned.

"Better be or I'll fry you," Mattheo warns.

"How sweet," She smiles sweetly before blazing blue flames spread the four of them, "Let's try it now, shall we?" By the suffocating tension between the two of them, Salem suddenly chuckled and the fire disappears.

"This smokeless fire." Freddy looked at Mattheo in disbelief, "She's the one I'm telling you to stay away!"

"Stay away from my ass, shut the f**k up reeking elf. Your mouth is louder than those frogs at the forest." She turned at Mattheo, "You still haven't learned your lesson, huh? Maybe breaking another bone or two might teach you. How does it sound like? Yes? Just kidding."

'Seriously, this kid roast Freddy without a sweat. She even makes threats as a joke. What kind is that? She needs to leave.'

Mira stood up and glared at her. Everything stopped including Mattheo and Freddy. She walked towards Salem and pointed to the door.

'Why didn't stop?'

"Get out." The younger one grinned at her before placing her legs at the armrest, "If I don't?"

"Just leave."

"No." Mira stared back at her while narrowing her own eyes. Fiercely challenging the younger female to leave the room and fiercely ordering her to leave. The older's vision suddenly turned black, making her alerted yet standing still. A pair of warm hands held her shoulders, enough to send her chills.

"Alright, I'm easy to talk to. I'm leaving."

'I don't really like this. Why I agreed with them in the first place?'

"Ifrit, we're leaving, leave that candle now." Salem commanded to the fire on the candle that slowly turned into a human, "You heard it, I also don't want to persuade someone. Let them die." She glanced at Mira who's temporarily blind at the moment.

"She's blind and her friends froze."

"Let them be. I'm not the leader of this dorm. She can control it even she's blind." She said while walking together with Ifrit, "I forgot, the leader here got froze because of her." Her laughed echoed along the hallways that give odd feelings to those who heard it. Yet she stopped after realizing something.

"Zachary's lunatic's week is coming. That dumb f**k's rut is coming." She cursed before turning back to the place where they come from.

"You supposed to be doesn't care about her, right?" Ifrit asks her.

"Come on, my cousin fully claimed her like a boss. Whether we like it or not, this is a s**t ride." Salem runs and shifts into a hawk.

'That crazy child blinded me! I swear I'm going to beat her into the pulp! How can she move despite that magic? I stopped everything to haul her out of this room!'

Mira slowly moves while trying to recognize every stuff that she touched. She took deep breaths before concentrating on letting everything move again.

Seconds later, she heard footsteps towards her and a hand tapping her cheeks, "Mira? Mira, can you hear me? What happened to you? Mira?!" It's Freddy who's worried about her situation. Both he and Mattheo are standing in front of her while checking if she's alright after that scenario.

"That child..." She called the younger's name. The black mist on her vision suddenly fades away. A bird with a familiar scent infringed the room and destroyed that certain moment and a fire spreads around her. Salem snapped her fingers and she becomes fully clothed at that moment.

Mattheo and Freddy looked at her, charging themselves in case that the girl started to spread mischief again, "I lied." She turned at Mira and lowered herself to her, "Listen to me, Mira Chivalry, your presence can bother everyone around the University. Do you know? I don't care at all if you got your ass into trouble. I'm just here to remind you that my cousin's 'rut' is coming. Have a good time in suffering. Enjoy it." Mira tugged her uniform and look at her directly to her eyes.

"Don't fool me, shrimp."

"Uhh, I'm a bird?" Mira shakes Salem, causing her to lower her head. She's mad and she wants to choke Salem to death at the moment but something told her not to.

"If you keep fooling around I'll burn you." Salem started to laugh like a maniac and looked at her in amusement despite how her gaze defines madness. Mira mentally cursed after finding out that she made a mistake that dangers her.

"Me?" She held Mira's hand and licked the back of her palm, "It's a pleasure." Mira pushed her away before wiping her hand.

"Zach is at the Fincel's building. On the fifth floor, the last room. If you want to settle all of your nonsense drama." Mira throws the cushion that hits Salem's head making the younger one turned at her with an evil smirk. She looked at Salem boldly.

"Do you think you can threaten me? Lunatic."

"I'm talking to you not threatening you." Ifrit lifted the broken door and bowed down at the three of them politely, "I beg for your forgiveness because of this broken door of yours. I'll send maintenance for this."

"Better be," Mira said.

Half an hour later, the maintenance fixed their broken door so they decided to went to the cafeteria where all of the students are, "Why we're here at the cafeteria?" Mira asked Mattheo and Freddy who's standing on both of her sides.

"To eat, of course," Freddy replied. Despite how Mira can still feel anger all over her, she laughed at the elf's reply. After they bought food, they find a seat for the three of them and all of the students are looking at her.

"She's the one earlier, right?"

"She's lucky if she's still alive."

"Man, that dude has a cast on his arm. I witnessed earlier how the Phoenix toyed with him at the mid-air. He's handsome but I pitied him."

"How unfortunate."

"They're with Freddy, what's up with those two?"

"When will they stop?" Mira asked Freddy.

"They will. Wait until they got tired of it." Minutes of silence, the elf looked at Mira and Mattheo with fascinated expression written all over his face, "I remember it! Those two can blend on other students on their human form that's why they can't notice those two." Freddy starts talking about the two troublemakers while Mira narrowed her eyes at the person who's looking at her from the second floor of their cafeteria. Leaning at the metal bar railings. Her jaw is resting on her hand while smirking. She tapped Mattheo's arm and secretly pointed Salem.

"I know, stay here." Mattheo stood up and walk towards the spot near Salem. Both her and Freddy tried to stop him but all of the persuasion turned futile. Some students are fighting on the other side and instead of stopping them, they're cheering them.

"But--Hey! Don't--"

"Hey!" He called Salem's attention. Ifrit is not on her side, and not even Zack. This time, she's alone. By how Mattheo's shouts, he attracts people's attention by himself. Her eyes darted at him before she jumped from the second floor and successfully landed on her feet, leaving the rest of the students to gasp in shock.

"What do you want now, lion?" She crossed her arms and yawned, "Make it faster if you want to say something. I'm starting to get sleepy." Mattheo grabbed the fork from the vampire who's eating in peace and throw it to Salem. It is about to hit her neck yet she catch it without a sweat.

"That vampire is using this fork, don't be like that."

"Who is she?"

"I don't know, it's the first time I saw her."

"She's not wearing any uniform."

"Don't fight her, Mattheo!" Mira exclaimed. The elf held her hand to make her sit down.

"Stopping them is not a good decision to make, Mira. There are mages around and Megan is one of them, better to stay here in silence." Freddy explained to Mira who's planning to stop Mattheo who already made his move on challenging Salem.

"You're speaking like a good cop, huh?" Her mocking looks got replaced by an insane smile and scoundrel looks, "You don't let me finish my words, lion." Salem threw the fork back at him. For some instances, Mattheo dodges the fork and lets it pierce deeply at the table.

'How do they manage to get near at her? She's insane.'

He takes the form of a giant lion and growls at her. The fight on the other side stops and the students' attention got all darted at the two of them. Some of them are crying for help but some are watching them.

"How sweet, you broke a few of your bones, aren't you?" He runs towards her and pounces her. The girl remained nonchalant while looking at his eyes. His fangs that may rip a person's body are pierced at her shoulder and he can taste her blood. The rest started cheering them while the rest gasped.

"Please, someone stop them!"

'I don't care if my bones are broken, you bird brain.'

Salem holds his mane before hitting his stomach, enough to let go of her shoulder. She immediately stood up and dusted off her bloody clothes. The small band that ties her hair got accidentally sever and her long hair falls while some portions of it cover her face.

"Hey, you two hybrids over there!" She called the attention of two students who are fighting before them earlier, "Make sure that no extra that will call some teachers!" Salem said while dodging the lion's attack. They instantly obeyed her despite how confused are they about her identity. By the swift moves that perfectly blend into the air makes the huge lion lose his focus. He let out a roar that leaves people flabbergasted and continued attacking Salem. She seated at his back swift as lightning while crossing her legs and both of her hands are supporting her.

"Too slow for a cat."

"How can we get out of this place?" Mira asked the elf beside her who's defending her from fighting creatures.

"I don't know too. We're stuck here and two of her underlings are guarding the door. They're both half vampires and half shifters. If I used my magic against them, the mages and other creatures might grow wilder." Other shifters started to fight and that leaves the whole cafeteria in whole chaos. Mira got tugged by Freddy into the second floor to get away from the riot.

'You f***ing bird!'

"I can hear it." The fire spreads around the two of them as they continue fighting too. Other students' screams define panic and fear as they tried to get away from the fighting crowd.

'Salem you lunatic! Stop that fight! Your parents are here! I can't afford if your father got mad!' She let go of Mattheo's neck and stood up straight after hearing Zach's words on her head.

'I'm in the middle of the fight and I got two fathers, Zachary! You f***ing i***t!'

'At least I warned you by my telepathy!'

'Your cafeteria got destroyed, by the way.'

'Salem!'

The girl turned into a glorious bird with orange feathers in an instant and let out a cry that made all of the shifters stop She exits the cafeteria and leave the raging lion behind. It made all the shifters stop yet the rest panics more.

"Riot is not done yet!"
