Eternal Bond

The sounds of cheerful chatters reached my ears as I stepped out into the garden where everyone had gathered for my birthday and first shift to be celebrated. It was night time already and the entire garden was lavishly decorated to my taste. Although it was the shifting ceremony first, everything was prepared for all celebrations after. My boyfriend and mate, Zayev made sure he spent a lot into making my birthday a success and I felt like the happiest girl knowing not only did I have a loving and considerate mate, he was also the youngest alpha to ever rule the pack. “Isn't she beautiful?” “Yes she is. I am so jealous of her.” “I wonder what kind of wolf she would turn into.” “A rare breed? I would love to see a rare breed up close.” I heard gossips all around but I ignored them before heading straight to Zayev who was standing with our friends, looking at me with the most tender eyes I've ever seen. “You look beautiful.” He complimented me as he pulled me in for a hug before he kissed my neck softly. “You go girl, we're rooting for you.” My friends cheered as I walked over to the prepared ritual ground for my shifting. I was dressed in a plain white shirt dress for free access when I shifted, so I sat in the middle of the lines drawn between a circle. Everyone gathered around circle and the priest begun the process to unlock my wolf. I felt a burning sensation all over my skin and I tried to endure it but it seemed impossible to do that but I still didn't make a sound. Everyone including me waiting eagerly for me to shift into my wolf form but I just sat there, no bknes expanding, no fur. I tried shifting again but I felt nothing. I could already feel the weird gazes of everyone and whispers going off in a distance. “Do you think she doesn't have a wolf?” Someone asked in a very low tone. “To imagine the alpha's mate is a wolf less one. What a disgrace.” I felt as if the entire world was spinning at the moment. I had always waited for this particular day to come and for me to meet my wolf. The day I will seal my fate to becoming Zayev's woman but here I am, not getting my wolf. 'Something must be wrong right? Maybe he's doing something wrong.’ I thought, trying to calm myself but deep down, I knew it was all a lie just go comfort myself. I was a wolf less one who is even more useless than the weakest of weak omegas. “It seems like Lady Kania is wolf less.” The priest announced while looking at Zayev who was just staring at me with his calm look. He would understand right? It wasn't as if he would abandon me because of what these people would say, right? I stepped down from the platform with my head down. I just wanted to be alone and just walked out of the garden to just think about what just occured. “Everyone, please I think it's best you all leave for the night.” I heard Zayev's voice as I walked into the building, heading straight for my room. I didn't know how to feel. Whether to cry or whether to comfort myself. There was a lot of people there waiting for me to shift and see who their future Luna would be but I had disappointed them by not shifting into my wolf form. I sat in a corner of the room, waiting for Zayev to come in and after a few minutes, he did, staring at me. “How are you feeling?” He asked me, making me look up at him. “You're disappointed in me, right Zayev?” I asked him, standing up to rush over to him. “You won't leave me right? I promise, I'll be a good Luna. I'll help you with everything.” Tears started to well up in my eyes. “We've been together since you realize I was your mate and you have never left me for anything I did wrong right?” I asked him, grabbing his shirt as tears rolled down my cheeks. A small smile appeared on his face as he wuled my tears with his thumb. “No need for you to worry, Kania. It must have been really hard on you.” He wrapped his arms around me, making me feel the warmth of his body. “You just get some rest and I promise, I'll deal with the rest.” I knew I could count on him. As he comforted me, I felt relived. He wasn't going to listen to them just because I didn't shift. Besides, I was his mate, the only one the moon goddess ordained for him. “I'm so glad I have you, Zayev.” I expressed. “Yeah, me too.” The rays hit my face and I could feel the warmth from the sun, making me open my eyes. I remembered stillwater crying myself to sleep last night but right now, I was a tad bit relieved that he wasn't at all mad about it last night and I couldn't wait to see him. Standing from my bed, I walked out of the room still in my pajamas to get something to drink when I noticed some preparations going on. I didn't know exactly what was going on but everyone in the pack house was busy. The maids ignored me and treated me like I wasn't there but I was able to get something from their conversation. “Did you hear? The alpha would be crowning his Luna today.” Today? I was stunned at the revelation. Zayev didn't tell me about it being today. He told me it would be in two months. Or did I miss something. Quickly returning to my room, I prepared for the day before heading back out and by the time I stepped out, I could see everyone in the pack had gathered outside, as if waiting for an announcement. “Where is Zayev?” I asked one of the maids but I only got ignored. Soon my question was answered as Zayev walked out to the main balcony of the pack house where the alpha makes his general announcement. “Welcome everyone. I know this was an impromptu announcement, but today, I would be introducing you to my new Luna.” He said, making everyone's eyes guled to him. What was he doing? What does he mean by his new Luna? The doors behind him was pushed open and I could see a feminine figure walking towards him. She wasn't elegantly dressed neither was sshe underdressed. Her blonde hair flowed down to her waist, complimenting her striking beauty. She stood next to Zayev with a small smile on her face as she looked in my direction. I recognized her. I have seen her around the pack recently and I heard rumors about her visiting the pack house frequently and her being an omega. I didn't want to think of the worst when I saw her link her arm around Zayev's. “Everyone, I would like to introduce you to my future wife and the new Luna of this pack, Elsa.” I felt like the entire world came go to a halt as he completed his sentence. What did he mean by his future wife and his Luna. What happened to me? Just because I didn't have a wolf? “Hold it Zayev!”
