Perrie recognized Brian immediately, even without registering the sign he held at baggage claim that read her name. She’d seen him at the concert the month before as well as on occasion when she had Skyped with Jade when she’d been backstage at various locations for her concerts. Having now been to two Amelia concerts, Perrie didn’t mind that she was missing the Paris show because of the timing of her flight. Because it was a day show though, that meant that she had the entire night with Jade to herself.
The entire drive to the hotel Perrie was leaning her head outside the window, taking in the streets and scenery of Paris. When they finally arrived at the hotel, Hotel Fouquets Barriere, Perrie realized how gross she probably looked after being too excited to get more than a couple hours of sleep on the plane.
“Do you know what Jade will be back?” she asked Brian.
“Her concert is probably just finishing up now,” he responded, “And I believe Karl is inside the hotel waiting for you.”
Relieved that there would be a familiar face inside to help check her into the hotel, Perrie thanked Brian and exited the car. Upon entering the lobby to the hotel, wheeling her suitcase behind her, Perrie couldn’t help but look around in awe. Sure, Jade and her entourage had stayed in a nice hotel in DC, but this hotel was like one Perrie had never seen before. The lobby was warm in color and inviting to look at, but Perrie was afraid that if she accidentally knocked over a vase, she'd be owing the hotel several thousand dollars.
“Perrie!” The blonde heard Karl exclaim, causing her to turn around abruptly and nearly knock over one of the vases she had previously been admiring. “I'm glad you arrived well.” Her girlfriend’s cousin then came over and gave Perrie a hug which was eagerly returned. “I can show you up to your room.”
Perrie nodded as Karl led her over to the elevator. Upon entering the elevator, Karl withdrew a magnetic room key and placed it into the slot that allowed them access to the top floor and the presidential suite. When they finally reached the top floor, Karl unlocked the room and allowed Perrie to walk in first.
If the lobby was something to be admired, then the presidential suite was something else entirely. Everything appeared new and expensive, but without looking too modern. The furniture and decorations still retained a look of classic elegance.
“This is amazing,” Perrie remarked, turning around to gauge Karl’s reaction. Karl clearly agreed if the smirk on his face was any kind of tell.
“Wait until you see the view,” Karl responded, “Your room looks right over the Champs Elysees.”
Perrie grinned and moved from the main room in search of her bedroom. After several tries, finding herself first in a large closet, then a kitchen, she finally found the bedroom. While her eyes first caught sight of the amazing view outside the window, they were quickly drawn away from the window and on to the luxurious bed. Atop the duvet was a single rose and an envelope with her name on it.
Before Perrie had a chance to open the letter, however, Karl cleared her throat and addressed her. “I’m heading out now, I have a few errands to run for Jade, but Brian will be back to pick you up at five.”
“Is that when I’ll get to see Jade?” Perrie asked.
“Read the note,” Karl gestured to the envelope Perrie had just picked up off the bed. “It will explain all you need to know.”
“Okay, thanks.”
Karl turned to leave, but before he did he looked over his shoulder and spoke, “Oh, and happy birthday Perrie.” Perrie grinned in return as Karl left her alone.
Perrie turned the letter over in her hands, before opening. She withdrew the note from the envelope, immediately admiring the thick card stock it was written on.
Perrie,
Happy Birthday and Welcome to Paris!
I cannot wait to see you later this evening. I have arranged for Brian to pick you up and deliver you to me at 4:30 this afternoon. Do not bother asking him where he is taking you because I have sworn him to secrecy.
In the closet you will find several items of clothing that will work well for our evening plans. Before I take all the credit, Leigh-Anne and Jesy picked everything out online after I told them what we were doing and I had Karl pick them up. Choose whatever you like. I know you will look gorgeous no matter what.
xoxo,
Jade
Perrie ran her fingers over the cursive script admiring it. Even though she'd never actually seen Jade’s handwriting before, she knew it was hers. It fit her perfectly, the perfectly shaped letters and script. Unable to hold back her excitement anymore, Perrie searched for the closet. She first stumbled upon the bathroom which nearly caused her jaw to drop at its size and contents; a jacuzzi style bathtub and a shower with multiple shower heads.
It was on her second try that Perrie located the closet in question. This time, her jaw really dropped. Hanging up inside the walk-in closet were countless outfits ranging from slacks, to skirts, to blouses and dresses. They were all her size and Perrie could immediately tell which outfits Jesy had picked out and which Leigh-Anne had picked out. To their credit though, Perrie loved them all.
After quickly glancing at the clock, Perrie saw that she still had just over two hours before Brian would be returning so she decided to take a quick nap before getting ready. When she woke from her nap, she felt fully rested and sang in the shower while using the multiple shower heads and various soaps and shampoos.
After drying her hair, Perrie finally set about deciding on an outfit. After trying on nearly everything in the closet, she decided on a light blue halter dress that matched her eyes along with black heels and a black cashmere pashmina, knowing it would get cold later.
After curling her hair and applying her makeup, Perrie was giddy and more than ready to finally see her girlfriend for the first time in forty-eight days. She was ready just in time too, because at exactly five Brian knocked on her door.
