Alpha Silas’ point of view
“This meeting is going to be f*****g miserable. My wolf doesn’t like their alpha and he’s already getting restless.” I confide in my beta. “Silas, we can leave as soon as the meeting is done. Trust me, I don’t want to be here either. I have a mate at home waiting for me.” Trey says this with an exasperated sigh. We’re only about thirty minutes away and I’m dreading every second of this stay. The alpha of this pack is always so condescending and arrogant.
Those thirty minutes felt like they were dragging by, but we’ve finally arrived. Alpha Carson and Luna Grace were waiting outside and greeting all of the other alphas and giving out room keys, I had specifically requested for mine and Trey’s rooms to be close to each other. “Alpha Silas, I’m glad to see you made it here safely. I have a few girls to introduce you to, maybe we could discuss a martial alliance while you’re here.” Alpha Carson didn’t waste anytime trying to tie my pack to his. “I don’t believe that would be appropriate, I will not have a chosen mate. No one knows who would make a great luna better than the moon goddess herself.” I said this quickly and firmly to avoid any more of this nonsense. I quickly get my key from Luna Grace and head inside to get unpacked. Trey’s room ends up being across the hall from mine.
The first thing I notice when walking into the room is the smell, it’s intoxicating. “Mate was here. We need to find her now.” Quinn says, sounding upset. Why didn’t I sense her when walking through the pack house? I’ll have to be patient and talk to her in private before I address Alpha Carson about taking her to my pack. For now I’m going to keep this quiet and only tell Trey.
Rosalie’s point of view
Luna Grace has assigned me to clean and stay at some house around the pack lands while all of the alphas are here for the meeting, she says I’ll mess something up if I’m around. Thank god it’s just the empty properties. “Rose, something doesn’t feel right.” I hear the whisper inside of my head. “Would it help if we go for a run? We can investigate and search the pack lands to check on everything. We just can’t get too close to the pack house.” Her being restless makes me nervous. We’ll have to go run as soon as I get done cleaning this house.
A couple of hours later we finally get the opportunity to go run. I step out into the forest and let Lilian take control since she’s restless. I hope this will calm her down so I can have some peace, otherwise I don’t think I’ll be able to sleep tonight. “Lilian, we’re getting too close to the pack house.” “I need to see something, don’t you feel that pull?” Lilian replies quickly. “I feel it too, so I’m going to trust your instincts.” “Do you smell that? It’s faint, but our mate is here. He probably came with one of the alphas. We need to find him before the meeting is over, he’ll have to go on a run at some point in time.” Lilian says this with certainty.
After finding out my mate is here, I let Lilian continue to have control to get some of her energy out. She runs through the forest and plays in a river for a while. I can’t even explain the relief I feel right now, I will be taken to a different pack and won’t be treated as an omega anymore. Lilian and I will have a place that we truly belong in. When Lilian felt content she took us back to the house we’ll be staying in. As soon as we were in the house I heard her voice in my head. “Rose we need to talk about the mark. Our mate is most likely one of the alphas because you are special. The moon goddess told me that we are from a line of royal wolves and we need to hide that from everyone until we get to our mate’s pack.”
