This is it

Chapter 3

After work for the past two days I’ve been trying to get close to the pack house to see if I can see who he is, but tonight I’m going to sneak into the pack house and find him. I just can’t wait any longer, I need to make sure he knows I’m here. It should be best to do it around 1am. All of our warriors patrol the border and only watch the houses if someone has seen anything concerning. It’s almost time, I’m currently out in the forest in a tree waiting for my chance.

I haven’t seen anyone for a few minutes, it’s time. I climb down the tree and rush to the back door. Being extremely quiet is what I consider my special talent. I’m in the kitchen now, I just need to go through the door on the left and up the stairs. I don’t know what floor he’s on, but I’m hoping I’ll be able to smell his scent. I make my run for the stairs moving as fast and silent as I can. I walk down the hallway on the first floor, I smell a lot of people. But I don’t think he’s here. Time to go up another floor.

I didn’t even make it all the way up to the third floor before it hits me, he’s close. It doesn’t take me long to find his room. My mate is on the other side of this door and he’s an alpha. What if he already has a chosen mate? Maybe coming here was a mistake and he’ll come to me. All of a sudden a hand covers my mouth and someone is dragging me into a room. I can tell it’s a guy, so I act like I’m not going to struggle too much. Then I hit him in his junk, he’s hold on me loosens and I put as much distance between us as I can in this small room.

The guy is tall, definitely over six foot tall. He’s cute too with warm brown eyes and brown hair. “Who are you and why the f**k were you trying to break into my alphas room?” He’s angry too. And I bet he’s a beta. I don’t know if it’s safe to tell him. “Well you see, I umm....” “Whatever your alpha sent you here to offer him he won’t be interested in it.” He cut me off before I could figure out how to word it. “You can trust him, I feel it. He’s about to be our beta, he’ll help you.” Lilian seemed to whisper in my mind. I take a deep breath. “It has nothing to do with the alpha of this pack. Whoever has been in that room is my mate and I need his help to get out of this pack.” I try to say it with as much confidence as possible.

He’s face visibly softens. “He sensed you. He was trying to figure out how to find you without raising any red flags. Your alpha has been trying to convince him to marry one of the higher up females in this pack.” He says this with something in his voice that almost sounds like understanding. We just look at each other for a moment and I can tell that he just told his alpha through their pack link. I back against the wall and slide down to the floor. I’m going to be safe, they will take me home with them.

Suddenly I’m consumed in his scent, this wonderful intoxicating scent. It’s so difficult to describe, almost like it’s one of a kind. The door opens and the man standing before me is the most attractive man I have ever seen. He has black hair that goes down to the tips of his ears and piercing green eyes. He’s even taller than the other guy. He closes the door and slowly takes a step towards me. I can’t seem to take my eyes off of him.

“I’m Alpha Silas, who are you? And why haven’t I seen you the entire time I’ve been here?”
