They Are Not Ordinary

CHAPTER 34

ASHTER STARR

Time went by and it was already Friday. We only have a one hour training since tomorrow is our first game and our coach wanted for us to have a good rest. To be honest I am nervous even though I am not going to play.

"Alright everyone great job today" My teammates and I gathered around our coach, breathing heavily. Our captain ball hands out water bottles and towels while we wait for our coach to continue.

"Okay, so tomorrow is our first game girls are you excited?" My teammates and I nodded excitedly "I hope everyone will be ready, this is the moment we've been waiting and training for. You guys put your best okay? I know you guys can do it.

"I have one important rule, you guys should sleep early okay? No staying late! you should be resting your body because it will be dangerous if you stay late it might injure you" Coach sternly added and we all nodded. "The bus will be leaving at 5:30 am because they have an opening ceremony we have to attend that then after that we can go home or if you guys prefer to stay we can stay there until it's our turn to play"

"We can stay coach si we can watch our other opponent's moves" Nicole suggested

"Okay, we will stay then. That's a wrap today guys. Go home and get some sleep"

"Thank you, coach!" My teammates and I bowed at our coach and slowly begins to clean up and head to the shower room.

I was about to head to the shower room when I heard my coach call for me.

"Ashter comes here" My coach motioned for me to come near him and I obliged.

"Yes, coach?" I asked politely.

"I have decided to lift your suspension so you will play tomorrow okay?" My coach informed me. I was a bit shocked but then I smiled because I can finally play.

"Okay coach" I nodded excitedly.

"If you are wondering why I lifted your suspension it's because we already lost one player and based on your performance in our training you are doing great so you are my best bet right now" My coach explained to me.

"Okay coach I will do my best and I won't disappoint you," I said, my voice dripping with confidence.

"That's good, okay your dismissed now"

I waved my coach goodbye and he waved back before exiting the gym.

As soon as he was gone I squealed.

"What are you squealing about?" I heard Jessica's voice behind me which made me jump a little.

"What the heck Jess I didn't know you are behind me, you made me scared for a bit," I told her honestly.

"It's because I am a certified ninja," She said while doing some weird ninja moves which caused me to giggle. "So what are you so excited about?"

"Coach lifted my suspension from playing two games, which means I can play tomorrow" I shared to her excitedly which made her eyes sparkle.

"Really?!" She asked in disbelief and I nodded "yeeeeey!! We can finally play together again yes!"

"I know right" I chuckled as we walked to the shower room. It was almost empty because the others had already gone home.

"Hey, Ash! can I sleep over at your place tonight? "Jessica asked as we went to our lockers to get our fresh new shirts. "I wanna sleepover since I am nervous I won't wake up at my alarm"

"Yeah sure that would be nice, we can go together" I nodded as I closed my locker.

"I'm gonna text my mom to tell her someone's coming over"

"Okie wait for me I'm gonna wash up a bit," Jessica said as she ran inside the shower room to wash herself.

I change into some new clothes before I texted my mom and said my teammate is going to sleep over so we can go together tomorrow. She said she is looking forward to meeting her.

Right, I haven't brought any of my friends to my house yet. Well, I did bring someone into the house but my mom didn't know.

After I texted my mom I waited for Jessica to finish outside the shower room.

As I wait for Jessica our captain ball gave me the keys and told me to lock the gym up since we are the last person here.

After a few minutes, Jessica came out nice and clean.

"So are you gonna go home to get your things first?" I asked while I sling my bag over my shoulder as the two of us head out of the gym. Jessica waits patiently as I lock up. After locking up I put the keys into my pocket.

"Yeah I'm gonna go home first then I will come to your house. Just send me the address" Jessica said as we started to walk towards the exit of the school.

"Thank you for letting me stay over tonight Ash, I'll see you later" Jessica waved goodbye at me as she went inside her car.

"See you!" I waved back and procced to go in my car to drive home.

"Hello, mom why are you dressed up?" I asked as I entered our house and saw my mom putting some perfume on.

"Hi sweetie, I am dressed up because your father and I are going out tonight since it's Friday" My mom informed me.

"Oh I see, I wish I could go out too"

"You are home early," My mom noticed.

"Coach dismissed us early so we can have a good rest"

"Oh okay, well you could come with us so you can breathe out some fresh air too, ever since we got here I never seen you go out that much, you are always stuck in your room," My mom suggested but I immediately decline.

"I wanted to go with you tonight but I can't and the reason why I'm not going out that much is that I have a busy schedule mom so I don't have much time going out" I groaned as I sat on the couch because my legs feel tired. "We have a tournament tomorrow and we need to rest, also my friend is coming over remember?"

"Of course I remember, I left some money for you guys so you can just order dinner," My mom told me with a warm smile "Don't worry sweetheart after your tournament tomorrow we can go out together"

"Okay that would be great" I gave her a warm smile. I really need to get out of this house I just realize this now, I wanna explore this town too. "Anyways mom I will play tomorrow, since one player is going to be absent tomorrow coach will let me play as the first six"

"That's nice sweetheart! I'm proud of you" My mom gave me a warm hug and then in just a few seconds we pulled away because we heard a loud honk from outside.

"Well that's your Dad sweetheart, we will be off now. we won't be out late, we will be home by 10" My mom waved me goodbye before she exit the house.

I sighed once again as I notice that I was alone.

Me plus being alone is dangerous.

It's a good thing that I agree that Jessica will sleep over tonight so I can have some company.

Oh s**t, I forgot to text her my address.

I took out my phone from my pockets and texted her my address. I also asked her what time she will come and she told me she will come at 8. I checked the time it was 6:59.

I have an hour to clean myself.

I stood up from the couch and made my way upstairs to my bedroom. I placed my dirty and sweaty clothes in my laundry basket. before I went to the bathroom to clean myself.

After cleaning myself. I ordered some pizza and some drinks so when Jessica come over here we would just eat. because If we will order later we will be waiting for a long time since the delivery sucks in here, they always take too long.

After everything is settled I sat in my bed and watch something to kill time.

All of a sudden I heard a loud thud coming from my roof. I jumped a little and paused the movie that was about to start before I looked up to see what the hell it was. I heard it move before it stopped. Not two seconds after, I heard another loud thud land on my balcony.

"What the hell?"

I was alone for a short amount of time and these creepy things started to happen.

I slowly and cautiously moved towards my balcony door. I saw a small figure from outside, it's really dark so I couldn't see. I backed away slowly because it was obviously a human figure I don't want to open it. I immediately jumped again when a hard knock was placed at my door.

"Open the door" A female voice boomed urgently.

What should I do? Should I open the door?

"Open the door Ashter!"

That voice was familiar so I slowly opened the door. And my suspicions were right when I saw Maxima standing over there at my door. I was confused as to why she is here but I let her in any way.

"C-come in" I moved over to the side giving her access to the entrance. She immediately comes in and sat on my chair. I locked the balcony door before I followed her.

"What are you doing in here? why did you just show up toda-"

"Save the questions okay? I don't have much time, they know I am here. I just need to deliver you this" Maxima cuts me off, as she handed me two letters that were sealed with wax.

They know I am here? What does she mean? I want to ask her but I was too afraid to even speak.

"The color brown one is from Damien and the color gray one is from coach, can you do me a favor and give this to him please" Maxima added as I furrowed my eyebrows confusingly at the letters on my hand.

"S... Sure" I nodded. I wanted to ask her more questions because I was so confused. I just stared at her. I noticed that she had a lot of bruises and scratches on her face. She also looked agitated and out of breath, it was like she was running away from something, or should I say, someone...

"I wish I could explain everything to you but if I do they might attack this house right now and they might hurt you too" Maxima sighed "You know what I mean"

The first time I heard it. I already know what is going on. So I just nodded understandingly at her.

"So I'll be going now.. just take care and don't wander around alone especially at this time" Maxima warned me as she was about to exit my room. But I grabbed her wrist and immediately felt how cold her hand was.

"Is there anything I can do to help you? Do you need something?" I asked her nervously and she just let out a small laugh. I looked at her confusedly.

"Just stay here, don't go out of this room, and don't ever open the door if you are not expecting someone" Maxima gave me a small smile as I let go of her wrist. By that warning, it sent chills down my spine.

She was about to jump out of my balcony but she stopped in her tracks.

"Oh, I almost forgot, drink this so you will be safe for the night tonight, and spray this in your whole room so my scent will disappear" Maxima handed me a vial that contains a pink liquid and a spray bottle that contains blue liquid. "Be safe Ashter"

With that, she vanished in just a second.

"Wait!" I followed her outside and looked down at our balcony to check if she was still there but she was already gone. No signs of her.

I sighed and walked inside my room immediately and locked my balcony door. As soon as I locked everything I followed her instructions. At first, I was hesitant to drink the liquid she gave to me but I have no other choice. I want to be safe so I drank the pink liquid, I thought it's going to taste nasty but it didn't, it taste like strawberry which made me feel relief. After drinking I sprayed the other liquid on the whole room. To be honest I didn't smell like anything at all.

After I emptied the whole bottle I sat on my bed and patiently waited for Jessica to come. I'm grateful I wouldn't be alone that much. My whole body is shuddering in fear, to be honest. All of the warnings Maxima scared the s**t out of me. I am even afraid to move an inch right now.

I checked that time and I sighed in relief because in just a few seconds Jessica will be here I also received a message from her that she is on the way 5 minutes ago.

I hope Jessica will be here anytime soon, I can't bear to be alone anymore. It's making me so nervous.
