ASHTER STARR
A week has passed. It was surprising, to be honest. I thought the days are going to be much longer but I guess not.
The technique is I will keep myself busy in order to kill time. I also avoid thinking about Damien too much, to be honest, it was all working well and everything is going alright as of now.
It was Monday again. I spend my weekends shopping with the girls and practicing our play.
It was pretty embarrassing not to mention annoying because the girls visited me yesterday while I was practicing with Leo and the drama team. They kept teasing and whistling every time Leo and I had a very romantic scene. Even after our practice they still keep making fun of me, which is crazy but I brushed it off and got used to it in the end.
I'm so glad that in just a week, I improved.
I'm doing much better at portraying my character and we are almost done with the script we just need more practice so we can polish the whole play before it is the actual play starts.
Today I was excited because there is only a week left before I see Damien again.
"I'm heading out now mom, I'll see you later" I shouted for my mom who was washing dishes.
"Okay honey take care love you!" My mom shouted back.
"Love you too!"
My mom doesn't have work today because their boss said they had a week off, which I was grateful for because my mom is going to rest for quite a while and she is going to stay at home which I am grateful because I won't be home alone for a whole week and I'm going to have yummy breakfast again.
Both her and my dad work hard for me every day. So they really deserve to rest. Except for my dad, they don't have rest this week because they have a huge project.
I put my keys to the ignition to start my car. I suddenly remember the lock was still busted because of Zachary, I sighed as I made a mental note to let him fix my car when they go back. Luckily my parents didn't notice or else I would be dead.
I drove out of our garage and finally made my way to school.
-
I made it to school in just ten minutes because my car ride was smooth and fast, I'm glad I went out early because if I don't I will surely be stuck in traffic.
As I walked through the hallway, the principals boomed through the speakers which made some students stop in their tracks to listen.
"Attention to all students, I want to congratulate you all since the first semester has ended and you all did very well. I want to remind each student will to go visit the registrar's office for their new schedules. If you have any concerns you can visit me at the principal's office. That's all have a good day my beautiful students" The principal's voice was sweet which was different from what I heard when Zachary and I came to her.
The students started walking in the hallways again as nothing happened.
Typical high school.
Then suddenly it hit me.
END OF THE FIRST SEMESTER?!!
What? Did I miss the examination?
But the teachers didn't announce everything...
How did the first semester already end?...
I am so freaking confused right now. But I shrugged it off I can ask my friends later.
I continued walking to my locker when I met Jane.
"WHAT'S UP PRETTY FACE!" Jane exclaimed as she placed her arms around my shoulder.
"Geez, why do you have to be so loud early this morning" I complained as I tried to playfully remove her arms away but she put it back.
"In order to annoy you, yes I have to be loud every day" Jane replied with a goofy smile on her face.
"Whatever" I chuckled. We reached my locker and Jane removed her arms in order for me to transfer my things "Hey Jane tell me"
"Tell you what?"
"Why do they mean that the first semester already ended? Like what the f**k did I miss the exam or what?" I asked her as I was transferring my training stuff into my locker.
"Oh right you are new here, you must be hella confused," Jane said as she lean her shoulders to the locker next to mine "So technically we don't do exams in here, just the finals"
"Really?" I raised my eyebrows in disbelief "if you are joking right now I'm gonna smack you"
"I am serious!" Jane defensively said as I look at her, checking to see if she is serious. Her face doesn't look suspicious as usual.
She is serious.
"Well, that's a big relief then" I shrugged as I closed my locker.
"Oh don't be, because in the finals each subject has 200 questions" Jane smirked at me.
"WHAT!?" I exclaimed suddenly other students start looking at us weirdly. I hid my face in embarrassment making Jane giggle.
"That's bullshit" I lowered my voice this time to avoid more embarrassment.
"Yeah I know right" Jane nodded her head in agreement.
"So all this pointless memorizing is for nothing?"
"I wouldn't say pointless" Jane acknowledge "but by the time finals come we will all forget the things we learned"
"Yeah, why do you keep studying then?" I asked her as we walked to the office together.
"I wasn't really studying, the book is just a cover, I am hiding my phone in it because in the library they have free wifi" Jane shared which made me shocked for a bit. So that was what she was doing all the time.
"What the heck Jane I really thought you are addicted to studying!! You fooled me" I smack her playfully in the arm.
"I'M KIDDING!" Jane raised her hands up in defense "I do love reading and studying because I am a slow learner, I can't pick up fast unlike you and some other students, so I have to keep reading stuff, but sometimes I do that when I am tired of reading"
"You all most got me!" I glared at her.
"Yeah, you should have seen your face" Jane laughed.
"But I am proud of you though you are really pushing yourself for the better" I gave her a bright smile.
"Thank you" She smiled appreciatively "Who knew Ashter could be so nice"
"Hey, I am always nice!"
"Sure whatever you say" Jane chuckled as we continue walking down the hallway.
When we are almost at the registrar's office we stopped in our tracks when we saw there is a long line.
"Damn, I didn't know that there was a huge line" Jane groaned "Last year the line wasn't as long as right now"
"It must be our lucky day" I sarcastically said as we went to the end of the line and wait for our turn. "We are going to be stuck here for the whole day"
"Oh don't be so dramatic it won't take that long" I heard a familiar voice from behind us. Jane and I turn our heads to see Aliana and Sophie.
"Hello, bitches!" I enthusiastically greeted and hugged both of them to death. Jane did the same.
"So why is the pres late?" Jane asked suggestively.
"The principal gave me an important task to finish first that's why I cane late" Aliana informed us.
"Why the heck is the line so long? It isn't like this last year right?" Sophie complained as she leaned her back against the wall. "Hey Aliana, since you are the pres why don't you use your power and go in the first line"
"No I won't use that against them," Aliana shooked her head and Sophie pouted "That would be unfair and rude for the others"
"That's the number one reason why you deserve that spot, you are so
understanding, kind, thoughtful, intellectual and any other synonyms that I can use to describe you" Jane commented with a small laugh "Our little Aliana have a very big heart and brain, how come you carry all that with your height"
"Rude" Aliana glared at her playfully, making a of us laugh.
I'm glad they are all here otherwise it would be boring without these three knuckleheads
We talk here and then until it's our turn.
Aliana was right it didn't take too long because in less than 10 minutes we already got our new schedule. We went straight to the cafeteria to chat for a while since we have 2 hours of free time.
"Hey, guys what do you have in the first period?" I asked them
"Jane and I have literature in the morning," Sophie said happily she got company with Jane.
"That's unfair! I have Math in the first period!" I huffed dramatically making them giggle.
"Well that sucks, it's a good start for a headache in the morning" Jane laughed lightly
"Yeah I know" I pouted. "What about you miss president what do you have in first class?"
"Why do you guys ask? I'm a senior I'm not going to have a class with either of you" Aliana shook her head in disbelief.
"We all know that, we just want to know what is your schedule"
"Okay, uhh-" Aliana said as she quint her eyes through her schedules "I have homeroom in the morning, same old, they didn't quite change the schedule for seniors, to be honest"
"Well that's boring" Jane shrugged
"Everything is boring for you Miss Jane" Aliana teased making Jane glare at her she was about to say a comeback but closed it because her mind didn't come up with something.
"So we are going to have new professors now?" I asked
"Yeah every end of the semester the teachers change, like the senior teachers will be the junior, sophomore, and freshman teacher then vice versa, you know what I mean" Aliana explained
"Oh so you mean your professor will be our professor and then our professor would be your professor?" Jane asked which made our heads spin from her frequent use of the word professor. "Geez that sounded better in my head nevermind what I just said"
Jane brushed us off and we all ended up laughing.
"But that was right though, it just sounded so redundant" Aliana pointed out while laughing.
"So what are we going to do in our free time now?" Sophie asked somewhat getting bored of being in the cafeteria.
"Let's go to the mall then?" Aliana suggested which made us gasp.
"Is that even allowed?"
"No, but it's getting boring in here so let's get the hell out of here," Aliana said without hesitation, Jane, Sophie, and I looked at each other, smirk was plastered on our faces.
"That's more like it, badass president damn" Jane exclaimed.
Aliana immediately covered her mouth "Shh you will blow our cover"
"Come on guys let's go!"
