CHAPTER 32

ASHTER STARR "Hi, mom I'm back" I greeted quickly once I entered our house so I could go to my room. "Hey sweetie" My mom greeted back warmly. I was already halfway upstairs when I heard my mom call me. I groaned and walked back down to our living room. My mom and dad were seated next to each other on the couch with a paper in their hand. "You didn't tell us you are going to have a tournament this Saturday!" My mom exclaimed happily. I took a closer look at the paper in her hand that had my name on it. I grumbled. I didn't know our coach would send our parents a letter like this damn. This was the last thing I wanted. "Why do you seem upset that we found out?" My dad asked, he seemed offended. My mom looked also offended. "Every year you always tell us when you are going to have a tournament but why didn't you tell us this one?" I don't want to tell them I got suspended for playing in the first two games since that was my punishment because I haven't been training. It sucks because I was first six this year but I got punished and I have to be on the bench for a while which is horrible. But it's my fault so I can't complain about it. "It's okay honey you can tell us." My mom said softly "Are you afraid that we are going to embarrass you?" "No, mom actually I wasn't chosen in the first six. I am only going to be on the bench so that's why I didn't tell you" I half-lied to my mom which made me immediately guilty. "Oh... Sweetie, it's okay for us we are still going to cheer and support you and your team no matter what okay?" My mom walked towards me and gave me a hug. "Yeah I'm sorry mom, I didn't tell you, I was just embarrassed to say it" "Don't be sweetie, always remember we are going to be there for you to cheer on you even though you are only on the bench okay?" "Yes mom thank you" I smiled at her, I saw our dad just watching us with a smile. I really hope they wouldn't know that I am suspended. And I really hope coach wouldn't tell them. "Well since you guys know, you can go to our tournament, we have a game at 1 pm" I sighed. "Yey, thanks sweetie we are really excited" She squealed happily. "Geez mom you are such a kid, but thank you" I patted her back. She always got emotional for some reason, just like my first day here. "Alright we, I'm gonna head up and rest now" I pointed upstairs. They both nodded. "Okay, goodnight sweetheart, and sorry about what I said earlier" My dad apologized "It's okay dad it's cool, don't worry about it" I waved off. "We'll have the day off on the day of your tournament so we can go see you" My mom then informed. "I thought you have 1 week off?" I asked. "I have, I meant your father is going to have a day off" My mom corrected herself. "Okay, goodnight! I nodded, as I kissed their foreheads and raced back upstairs. Geez that was longer than expected. I entered my room and lock it before I jumped on my bed and grabbed the script that Leo gave me so I can practice my lines at home. I practiced and memorized my lines for a bit. After that, I rested in my bed just scrolling down on Twitter. When I got bored I looked out of the window and sighed. I just hope that Damien is okay out there. At least healthy and healing. I sighed again as I felt kinda lonely. I know I tried to avoid thinking about them but I guess this time my mind can't ignore the fact that I really missed Damien so much. I was so used to having someone around it didn't feel right. I also didn't feel safe knowing those wolf things were out there. Damien had confirmed that supernatural creatures existed. Rather some people found that exciting and cool, but I found it completely scary. We all think we know what's out there when we truly don't. Our neighbor could be an alien for all we know. Or maybe all the things that are in fantasy and s**t are really true and they exist at some point, they are just hiding in order to survive because if people will see them they would open their bodies up and experiment with some science shits on them. Well back to Damien, I think I know who did that to him. Well, that's all I know for now that whatever hurt Damien, had to be one of those things. His wound wasn't something an everyday human could've done. And that thing Zachary pulled out of him, that didn't even exist in the human world. In all honesty, I'm just confused as to why these wolves found a certain interest in me or is it me just being paranoid? Either way, I found more comfort in Damien and the boys being here. Well, mostly Damien. I just hope he's safe and he will come back because I'm missing him. So much. Damn, it's hard to be alone because my thoughts are catching up on me. I was so foolish to think that I am doing well at avoiding about thinking of him. But the more I avoid it, the more it becomes worse. I wish it's morning so I can go to school because it's the best place to distract myself. - "Ashter?" I heard pounding on my door. I squeezed my eyes shut hoping that it would stop. After I realized the banging on my door wasn't going to stop anytime soon, I groaned and shoved my face under my pillow. Hoping that it would block out the sound. "Ashter come on, get up! And don't lock your door anymore!" My mom ordered from the other side. I sighed and remembered that my mom is always home this whole week geez. Don't get me wrong I loved that she is home because obviously I rarely see her and dad. Like at all. But they just love to make me suffer by waking me up early. Not everyone likes waking up at 5 AM when school starts at like 8 or something... While yawning. I grabbed my phone and slipped on my shirt because I love sleeping in just my sports bra. Of course only when I am alone. When Damien is here I was always wearing pajamas. I could hear my mom making breakfast downstairs and I wondered how the hell does someone wake up so early on their day off? I mean... If I am going to be a parent one day I wouldn't be able to be like that. I would definitely sleep the whole day of my day off. Without much energy, I made my way downstairs I saw dad sitting at the dining table with a newspaper and a coffee in his hand. I was in shock to see my dad because he was usually gone every time I wake up. It must be so early that's why dad is still here. I greeted my dad, he smiled at me before going back to reading his newspaper. After greeting my dad I went to the table where my mom placed a plate of eggs, bacon, and waffle. Damn am I in heaven? Maybe I should start waking up early if I get this in return. "Thank you mom" I smiled and kiss her cheek in greeting before I sat down on my usual sit. "Sweetheart do you want ketchup on your eggs or maple syrup?" My dad asked as he stood up and went towards the fridge. "I think I will just stick to eating it plain, you know me I really don't like condiments" I shrugged and he nodded understandingly while he get ketchup for him. I really like eating plain foods. The sauce just makes the food taste weird and ruins the special flavor sometimes, so I rather just eat it plain. My parents and my other friends say it's dry but it's what I like so they can't tell me otherwise. After I ate my breakfast, I thanked my parents once more before scrambling up the stairs to get ready for school. - "So Ashter where is your game this Saturday we will watch you," Aliana asked as we are all sat in the cafeteria eating out lunch. "Ehh about that, I am suspended from playing two games because of my two absences," I told them honestly which made them gasp. "What! Why!" They all asked in unison. "I already told you, I didn't show up at training for two days without a valid excuse so that's why" "Tsk, tsk we didn't know Ashter can be lazy sometimes" Jane threw a smirk at me which I ignored. "Well that's sucks, but I guess you have to take your punishment for now but I hope you learned your lesson Ash" Aliana firmly told me. "Yes mom," I said while laughing lightly causing her to slap my arm playfully. "Why did you miss two days though?" Sophie asked while raising her eyebrow suggestively Damn it what did I do that day?... What excuse did I tell them? Shit... I forgot. "She's sick remember?" Jane told her and I sighed in relief because Jane answered that for me. "Oh right..." Sophie mumbled, "but why didn't your coach consider that since you are sick?" "I don't really know, but I guess my excuse letter wasn't valid for him" I just shrugged, hoping that the subject will change. "Well with that all said, we are still going to come and watch you though" "Yeah, you guys are just gonna watch me sit on the bench yey exciting right?" I faked out an enthusiasm which made them chuckle. "It's okay we would still make some banner for you and cheer loudly for you" Jane sniggered "Go Ashter, Go Ashter! Go warm the bench!" "HA-HA-HA, very funny" I sarcastically said making the girls burst out laughing. - I got a text from Leo that we don't have practice today since they still can't find the perfect schedule. He just told me that I will just practice my lines alone. So I did. I practiced in the theater room since it was my comfortable place to do this thing. I was the only one on the theater stage earlier. To be honest it felt scary because I was the only one in a freaking big room. And I was also kinda lonely so I just went to the cafeteria and waited until it's time for my training. After a few minutes, our training commences. I haven't seen Maxima since we took Damien's medicine. I was really worried about her and so is coach since she was also in the first six. She got in late but she manage to get a position in the first six than the others, I was expecting that since she has super strength and most of all she is a vampire so I think it was just easy for her. With her, in our team, we could rank up easily. She didn't give any letter to coach or anything. She just disappeared which made him so worried. I wonder why maybe she had something important to do. I hope she is fine even though I only met her once. Our training today wasn't hard as usual, since the tournament is coming up coach doesn't want us to be exhausted that much. "You can guys clean the gym first before you leave okay?" Our coach commanded, "if I saw a single dirt tomorrow you all will be punished understand?" "Yes, coach!" We all shouted in unison. "Okay, you are all dismissed," Our coach said before he exit the gym. "Hey, Nic you are classmates with Sima right?" I overheard my teammate ask our captain ball. "Yeah, but if you are going to ask, no I don't have any contact with her which I already told you guys a million times now. And I have also never seen her going in classes she has been MIA two weeks ago" Nicole shrugged "But we are close though which is weird because we never had each others contact number, so sadly I can't contact her and ask what's going on with her" Jane has the same situation with the boys. They are close but she has zero contact with them. Like at all. Geez, I guess all vampires really hate giving away their contact. Which is understandable and also clever. "Do you think Maxima ditched our team?" I heard Jessica ask from behind me as I fixed my things. I turn my head at her. "I don't know, maybe something come up with her, like emergency or family problems, well who knows" I shrugged as I continue cleaning my stuff. "But I didn't think that she will ditch us. You can see how she loves volleyball." "You got a point. Damn, I wish she comes back because she will be a big help in this team," Jessica muttered. "True" I nodded in agreement "I hope wherever she is, she is doing okay and I hope she will come back before our tournament" Geez, why do I feel like everybody is suddenly disappearing... what a weird town...
