BIRTHDAY PLANS

EPISODE THREE

Mia got to school, being the last one among her friends. She sets her eyes at Marbel discussing with a random guy from their class in the class varanda. She turned her eyes towards her right and saw Mercy standing near the classroom door. Quickly rushed to Mercy "What's Marbel doing with that guy?" she questioned Mercy and Mercy replied "She is going on with our plan" Mia was shocked "Wow! is that how bold Marbel can be? the guy doesn't look like it..." "And what do you mean by that?" Mercy asked "I'm trying to say...uh...I mean, he is not really like my type" Mia gave a horrible answer to Mercy. But Mercy didn't give in to being angry because she was already aware of what her friend, Mia, is capable of uttering. "You know what? I'll take that as you're a JJC to this. But trust me that guy is really okay for this party with you " Mercy calmly told her but Mia chuckled and made her way into the classroom as Mercy followed her in till they sat at their desks. The three girls desks were on the same line, they sat together. Marbel rushed in after her discussion "Hello gals" "Hello" they responded. Mia went further "I saw what you did out there" Marbel quickly chipped in "Yeah! girl, that guy is really okay for you. you should better approve of him now" Mercy seconded "I told you" "Well, I don't know but... I just don't know. till dismissal, I'll keep thinking about it "

Mia cleared them a little with a shaking hope but the girls wouldn't lose faith as they hailed her "That's our baby girl. we will be waiting for your response then"

Their teacher got into the classroom, it was past 8am and their lessons began.

The pretend boyfriend Marbel and Mercy want to get for Mia is one of their classmates. He sits at the extreme of the class close to one of the class windows. "Valentino!!" Mia screamed out in amazement and with a bit of anger in her tone as Marbel revealed the name of the guy she was talking to earlier. Their class has ended for the morning, they are all on break before the afternoon class will start. "Hell no! I can't do this with you gals" Mia made herself clear "That boy is not my type. you girls know how the whole class girls dissociate with him. Why would it be me that would break the chain? Well, Mia Shawn can't go on with this plan" "Baby girl, please you have to understand this boy before your own conclusion. Calm down girl, I know your type..." Marbel wanted to calm her down but she cut in "No, you don't know" "Can we hear her out first, Mia?" Mercy shunned Mia up but Mia still continued "what's there to hear from her?" Marbel and Mia got annoyed at this point but ignored her manners. "Yes any girl asked to go out with Valentino would refuse knowing his standard in their class. He is not ugly, he is not dull, he just isn't as rich as others. But girl, you've got to trust me, us." Marbel cleared the table of many thoughts. Mercy seconded her "Mia, this is just for a night and not forever. I have a plan " "Which is?" Marbel asked "Another plan??" Mia asked but Mercy continued "Yes, a plan. We can actually transform that guy into someone better. I mean go shopping for him. How do you see it?" Marbel was so much in for the plan "Yeah! Perfect idea" "Who's the bill gonna be on? Definitely not on me" Mia being partially in support. "Don't worry, I'll foot the bills" Mercy agreed "Okay!! So, the shopping will be on Friday night. We'll meet up at the school gate by 4pm" Mercy suggested "Okay that's cool" the other girls agreed. The school bell was rung, the afternoon classes are about to begin. The Squad went in for their lessons

The girls are working on their assignments in their different homes at night and decided to be on a video call with one another. Marbel suggested "Gals, we really need to let Valentino know the level of our plan" Mercy seconded her "Yeah! I support" but Mia decided to ask her usual annoying question with an 'I don't care' answer " Who's letting him know? 'cause it's definitely not gonna be me " the other gals almost screamed out 'Mia!!' but had to maintain the peace and gave a heavy sigh. It made Mia wonder why and she asked "Hey! What's up with you two?" "You're up with us, Mia" Mercy responded. At this point, Marbel is forced to say "I'll notify him since I planned it with him. But Mia, you'll have to get into a conversation with him at least to know him better" "Alright alright, I will do that" Mia had no choice but to accept. "So, Gals, let's not forget about ourselves." Mercy reminded them. The girls threw back "And what's that?" "Our outfits of course" mercy said "oh! Yes that's true. We were saying something about placing an order for dresses" Marbel recalled. Mia cuts in "No no no. It's not a dinner party, it's a birthday party. We should go on cargo pants. Then for the up? I don't know about that " "Marbel, Mia's suggestion is okay. For the up, we'll go on a crop-singlet with a jacket. What about the footwear and the color of the outfits?" Mercy suggested too. Now over to Marbel "A pair of black and white sneakers, black pants, varieties of colors for the singlet then a jean jacket " "Nice!! Impressive!!" The other girls hailed . They made their conclusions and decided to retire to sleep

The next morning at school, Mia was early enough today together with Mercy. Mia looked at the extreme of the class close to a window, saw Valentino and remembered that she needs to be engaged in a conversation with him. "But...how do I do this? Ughh! This sucks" Mia lamented to her friend, Mercy but Mercy assured her " Baby girl, you can do it, I trust you." "I don't know what to say first" Mia laments "You can start with an official introduction. Not like he doesn't know you or us, but it shows we're not rude. I mean we're polite" Mercy suggested and Mia asked "oh! Okay, what about the second thing I should say?" "Uhm...you can tell him you're in for the game and also let him know about your likes and dislikes while in a party ground. You know, sorts of things like that" Mercy concluded "Alright, I hope this works out well for us" Mia prayed but Mercy chipped in "nah nah, not necessarily us but you". That was more like a correction, funny Mercy. "Now get your butts off the seat, you've warmed it up already, it's heating. Go exercise yourself by walking down to meet Valentino " Mercy urged her and she stood up giving off a heavy sigh, assured herself "Yes! I can do this. I will do this" "that's my girl" Mercy hailed her as she got the courage to walk down to Valentino. "Uhm...hi..." Mia stammered as she greeted him "Hi Mia" Valentino responded cheerfully but looking at Mia, he discovered she's not comfortable "We can talk outside if you don't mind" he offered her "F... fine, we can" Mia agreed and they matched outside to the varanda.
