Rafe POV A warmth consumed my body, sinking into my bones and brightening everything around me; the world felt sharper, every color more alive, as if seeing her again had awakened something I didn’t know I was missing. I could feel the smile tugging at my lips, but I couldn’t hide it. She was finally home, and I’d get to see her later. God, I’d never wanted to see a girl as much as I wanted to see Mikayla. Usually, if I spent more than four hours with a girl, I was done until the next time I needed to let off steam. I couldn’t wait to leave them as soon as I had gotten what I wanted.
