Aiden Williams
"Do you really think this plan will work? It's not that I don't trust you, but it's wrong to have a child with that girl," Zach stated after entering my office.
"I told you to bring her to the mall, not to come here and mention your complaints."
"Alex did it on my behalf. He's free."
"What about you?" I questioned.
"You must tell me what you really wanted to do to that girl, Aiden. She's the—"
"Shut up, Zach."
Zacharias shut his mouth. I sighed in disbelief. I don't know what he didn't understand about the word surrogate, especially since he's a smart a*s man.
"Cassie is going to bear me a child and that job isn't hard to do, especially since she became a prostitute."
"Stripper, Aiden. Prostitutes and strippers are not the same. She was dancing on the floor naked, while a prostitute was selling her body to a desperate man."
"I know their difference, Zach. I'm not stupid. So, why are you here?" I asked to end this.
He sighed, "I'm afraid it won't succeed."
"Are you underestimating me, Zach?"
"No. I'm just telling you the facts about her."
"I know everything about her and I plan this all, so why are you afraid?"
"My apologies," he murmured.
"Know your place, Zacharias. Remember who you are and why are you here, so stop telling me what I need to do because I'm willing to tell you what your position is in this house."
My sight landed on his fist and he was enraged. He always does that whenever he fails, that is why I need to remind him of his place. Zacharias's mother was my father's first wife, and my Mom was the second wife.
Our family is way more complicated than everyone thinks.
I don't wanna talk about it anymore.
"Alex isn't trustworthy when it comes to her. I know that guy, he is careless. We know how many enemies my family has and they will take that chance to harm her."
"Just trust him. I know he can do a simple task like that," he stated.
"I know he could, but we can't be complacent just like that."
"Is this still about our mother's?" He inquired.
I glanced at him after hearing his query, and I was so done with him.
"Are we going to have that conversation again? 'cause I don't think today is the best day to discuss the matter we already talked about a few years ago, Zach."
"You treat me coldly, Aiden."
"So? Do I have to treat you fairly?"
I noticed that he clenched his fist and I know he was annoyed. Even though I always treated him unfairly, he stayed by my side. But doesn't mean I can trust him. He's the first son of my father, also my favorite one.
But he's working for me now, so I'm the boss.
"If you have nothing to ask for, you can leave."
Zach headed out without saying anything and I felt relieved somehow. He's irritating me so much, and if he's not my half-brother I already kill him in a snap.
I reach for my phone and dial Alex's number, and gladly he answers it quickly.
[Hey, dude! What's up? Miss me already?]
"Do you wanna die?"
[That fast? Can't you just greet me with such kindness, Aiden?] He said.
"I will if you promise me to keep a closer eye on her, Alex."
[Wait, don't tell me you call because you are not trusting me?]
"Exactly."
[Ouch! That hurt man! Of course, I will keep a closer eye on your girl, she is a nice girl.]
"Make sure she won't suffer in danger 'cause we both know what kind of freaking danger awaits us," I warn him.
[No worries. I got this, Aiden. So, chill.]
"Where is she? I wanna talk to her."
[Don't she have a phone?]
"Do you want me to look for your girl and shoot her in the head?"
[Easy, geez!]
"Put her on the phone, Alex. Don't make me wait."
[I can't.]
"Why is that?"
[I can't.]
"Alex."
[I can't, Aiden. She's in the bathroom.]
"Say what now?"
[Cassie takes a dump.]
"What the f*ck?"
[Just kidding. She went to the bathroom to pee.]
I wipe my face in annoyance, "You let her go there alone?"
[What do you want me to do? Follow her?]
"She could run away, Alex!"
[That's impossible, she would never. Cassie made a promise, so I'm counting on her.]
"Check the bathroom!" I shouted.
[What?! Are you crazy? No!]
"Check the bathroom or I'll kill your girl?"
[F*ck, Aiden! That's a lady's bathroom! You have no idea what shame you're putting me into.]
"So, killing the girl it is."
[No! Sh*t! You owe me big-time, Aiden.]
Silence prevailed and I soon heard the door open, after that, I heard him talking to a girl and they were having a naughty chat that wanted me to blow his head off. He really thinks of having a chat while I'm commanding him to check the bathroom.
[I'm checking the cubicles now,] he informed me.
"Hurry up."
After a long silence from the background. He curses.
"What happened?"
[Nothing. Just slip with something gross.]
"You do know you're not good at lying, don't you?"
[No?]
"She ran away, am I right?"
[Uh, no. I just miss one cubicle because she's occupying it.]
"Don't lie to me, Alex. I know she's not there."
He sighed roughly, [Fine. She ran away. She's not here and I have no idea how she passed me while I'm standing outside the door!]
"Think carefully, Alex. Did you put your eyes somewhere else?"
[Uh, sort of...]
"F*ck. I knew it."
[I'm sorry, okay? I saw my ex and she invited me to have dinner, so I forgot I'm babysitting your girl.]
"Find her. She's not far. Cassie will find a way to avoid our men," I said.
[What if I didn't find her?]
"You have to, Alex. You don't have a choice because if you don't find her, I'll take what's important to you. So, find her!" I yelled when suddenly I received an incoming call from an unknown number.
"Hold on a second, I have an incoming call."
I put him on hold and answered the call, "Who is this? I have no time to deal with you."
[Aiden Williams, am I correct?] That familiar voice lingers in my ears and I know who that is.
"What do you need?"
[She's in my possession and negotiate.]
"What do you want?"
[I want your head, Aiden. Now if you're very kind I want you to come here and talk about everything. Maybe have some coffee?]
"Touch her and you will pay for it, Tony."
