Having spent enough time with Lila, I knew her mom often shared some pretty twisted ideas. For instance, she once told Lila that state colleges had to accept everyone who applied.
That’s completely false, but the sad part is that her mom genuinely believes it. What’s even stranger is that she never went to college and never applied to one, so why she thinks that is beyond me.
