Brenda later found out the cause of her mother's gloomy face when they were about to retire to their beds .She was insulted by one of the parents of the kids she took care of. Mrs Carrie Henry was a very nice and quiet person. She did everything she could to avoid getting into trouble with anyone talk more of the parents of the kids.

"Mom can you really tell me what happened to you"?? Brenda asked.

"Mrs Rosalie was here to pick Chloe. She then complained that Chloe had flu for the past few days and said it was my fault for not giving her proper attention and also said I have been giving her what she's not supposed to take"

"you know mom, sometimes I wonder what this mothers think they are.Do they expect you to perform their roles as a mother" Brenda said.

" Brenda that is not all,Your school has been giving us notice concerning your school fees.Even your siblings fees have not been completed. I am sick worried. I don't know what to do anymore."

"Mom don't worry God will make a way for us"

"well I hope so" Mrs Carrie replied.Brenda was worried though but she always found a way of comforting herself.She went ahead to narrate what happened in school to her mother.Her mom encouraged her and told her to give in her best as a group leader.Then they accepted the call of nature.

Brenda woke up in the morning and prepared herself and her siblings for school.She felt a cramp in her stomach but concluded that it was hunger that caused it. When she got to school,her friends were already in school

"hey lovelies" she greeted them

" good morning Brenda how was your night" Tracy replied. As they found a way to settle down in the class room. Then their biggest enemy,Fender entered the class and mocked them as usual before going to sit on his seat.By now everyone had already settled down.

"Hey dude. why do you always do that s**t. you enjoy making jest of other people.You know that makes you look like the devil's incarnate" Desmond told Fender feeling a little bit annoyed.

" dude who the hell do you think you to question what I do.or are you having feelings for that poor thing over there"??. Fender said pointing to Brenda who was sitting on her seat and observing everything that was going on. His friends started laughing and looking at Brenda. Desmond felt like punching him on the face but he restrained his anger due to the fact that he was a new student. classes went on as usual. During their free period, Brenda and her group members assembled in order to discuss further on their topic.They were given evolution as topic to discuss.Brenda, being the group leader had shared the topic among them so she asked each member of the group to present what they had done research on. meanwhile the other groups were making a hell of noise. when they were done practicing for their group presentation, Desmond told Brenda he wanted to have a word with her. Although Brenda was not sure of what he wanted to tell her but she consented.

" hi Brenda.I really admire your leadership skills" . Desmond said smiling

"Thanks so much Desmond.All thanks to you for giving me the opportunity to be a leader" Brenda said smiling back.

"I have been observing you since I entered this school. I observed that Fender is always making jest of you and you seem to be quiet always.why don't you speak for yourself. you should never allow anyone to intimidate you no matter what". Desmond said waiting to hear her response.

"well everybody in this school knows that Fender is a bully and there is nothing anybody can do about that because his parents are very influential so even if I try defending myself it wont solve any problem. Fender has always been like this. I think you should just mind your business and focus on what brought you to this school in order to avoid getting into trouble.". Brenda replied. they discussed for some minutes before Desmond finally returned to his seat. unknown to Brenda, one of her classmates who was named Natasha but was commonly known as Tasha was watching them all this while.

Natasha was a very beautiful young girl. she was one of the best in the class. Her parents were also influential so she found herself in Fender's crew. she was one of those girls that always mocked poor students with Fender. she wanted to be in the same group with Desmond because she liked him but unfortunately for her it didn't turn out the way she expected. she tried to find a way to be close to Desmond and couldn't stand watching other girls especially Brenda the poor girls talk to Desmond. she made up her mind that she was going to confront Brenda and tell her to stay far away from Desmond. and she planned on doing this alongside Fender and their other friends. immediately school was over they worked up to Brenda.

"hey you girl with the rags stop there". Fender said blocking Brenda's way.

"I just came here to warn you to stay far away from Desmond because he is mine and nobody else can have him not even a wretched girl like you " . Natasha said looking at Brenda from the crown of her head to the sole of her feet.When she was done,she signalled her crew to leave. Brenda was speechless. She wondered why a girl like Tasha would like a boy she barely knew. She found a way of getting over this s**t and she went home.
