The waterfall was always my quiet place.
When I was young, before being Alpha got heavy, I came here to think. To be alone. To be just Dane, not Marcus’s son or the next leader.
Now I came for a different reason.
I walked the small path through the trees and listened for any sound. The rogue, George, Freya called him, was seen here many times. Always watching. Never coming close.
He made me curious.
Not in a good way at first. Seeing him hug my mate almost made me lose control. But after the anger went away, questions stayed.
Why was he still here?
Why did he not attack or run like normal rogues?
Why did he keep coming to this one place?
