71. Of wings, love, and flowers

2027 Words
Lea   Today I was with Valentin, we went to one of the famous poetry slams of Aureum, beautiful teenaged fae with colourful hairs and bright clothes were reciting epic and romantic poems. I really love this Realm; it perspires art and inspiration.  His uncle and aunt were here with us, Seraphine and I grew a bit closer, she was a sweet and nice female and she taught me a lot about the Fae Realm.  “Sun, do you think I could have wings one day?” I asked after in one of the intervals.  My mate chuckled a bit, “If you want to fly, I can always take you my arms.” He replied, with a smile as he wrapped his arms around me.  I wanted to fly with my own wings!  “That would be great, but I still would like to have my own wings,” I smiled. “Maybe one day you would, we never know what could happen after you take the oath and become the Fae Queen. We never had anyone that wasn’t a fae taking this oath before, so we couldn’t know the possible effects. With magic, faith, and the Goddess’s plans, everything is possible.” Seraphine chimed in with a smile.  I smiled back at her, “I really hope so.”  “You will look even more beautiful with wings, Angel,” Valentin added with a smile, as he placed a kiss on the top of my head and tightened his hold around me.  Being in his arms always felt like being surrounded, even held by sunlight.  “Look,” Valentin told me, tilting his head in the direction of Sienna, Nema, and Sienna’s brother, Conrad.  Nema and Conrad looked gloomy, Sienna was between them, arms laced with theirs almost looking like she was literally pushing them forward. I was glad Nema was out, Si said that Nema was locked at her house in the last few days. I knew that Conrad was at times depressed because his darkness was growing, he needed to find his mate soon. Maybe she wasn’t in this Realm, that was why he couldn’t find her. I ran in her direction and hugged her, “How are you?”  “I could be better, but I am happy to see my baby chick,” she replied with a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. Like flowers and balms, healing also takes its time. But if there is something, I have learned with my crafting is that change was in the essence of all things, and only one thing would stay the same, the natural tendency for every situation, the worst and the best of the predicaments, to change.  Alexus was changing and my feelings for him too. Neither I, nor anything could hold back or halt the natural development of a flower, or of a feeling.  I was already looking forward to seeing Alexus again.     ~ * ~     Liv   Laius had to go to an urgent meeting in hell, some drunk pixies stole Charon’s, the ferryman boat, to have a party. It was kind of a big deal, so he couldn’t send Lucius as his proxy. He really hated to leave our baby and me. Actually, he has been with us pretty much around the clock since our Aurora was born. He was doing everything with her and for her, well except breastfeeding, it was still my job only, obviously.  I was sat on my bed, cradling my sleepless baby, while I was everything but sleepless. I was yawning so much that the muscles of my face were hurting. If I kept like this rocking her back and forward, I would be the one falling asleep.  “Love, go to sleep. You have to rest.” Elric said. I was so out, that I haven’t even noticed that he was in the room. Honestly, lately, I’ve been feeling like a zombie hybrid. Half-asleep and half dead.  “I can’t, Aurora is very awake!” I muttered with a yawn, as I looked at her widely open blue eyes.  “I will stay with her, cradle her, while you rest,” Elric said softly. “But...” I started. I  knew he surely had a lot of stuff to do, especially now that I wasn’t helping him with the Realm’s matters. Aurora was born a week ago, the only thing that mattered at this moment was her, now I was her mom before being a queen or anything else.  “Liv, she is ours. She is a bit mine as well.” He said with a smile, taking the baby off my arms gently, “Aren’t you my child too, little angel?”  his eyes were pure tenderness as he looked at Aurora, cooed at her. My heart swallowed and I held back my tears. Damn, it was so lovely!   “Sleep,” he added, leaning down to press a kiss on the top of my head.  He didn’t have to say it twice, even before he left the room, my eyes were already closed. The last thought in my mind before I drowsed off like a bear in the winter was how lucky my little angel is, besides having an amazing dad like Laius, she has Elric.  How lucky we are!   ~ * ~     Avalon    I looked at my sleepy mate in our bed, she was exhausted.  I climb on the bed and took her sleeping frame in my arms, soon she snuggled her face into my chest and muttered, “Avalon…”  “Yes, baby. Sleep.” I replied softly, hugging her tightly.  I was happy for her, for Aurora.  My sweet mate was a great mother and the little one was very lucky. I was happy to see my Liv smiling with her child in her arms.  However, I wish it was our child in her arms. I couldn’t brush this feeling, the pang of frustration and even a little sadness that was growing in my insides. I wouldn’t let her notice it; I would upset her now. She was already tired and had a lot to do and a lot in her mind.  It wasn’t about having an heir; it was about having her.  I feared that if something happened, she would abandon me and go with Laius, they have a new connection, something my Liv and I don’t have, their child. I tried to push these thoughts to the back of my mind, as I breathed her vanilla scent. She wouldn’t abandon me.  ~ * ~     Lea       I was in my room at the Werewolf Realm reading a book, The Prince’s Substitute Witch Bride. It was a human book about fantastic creatures, a witch that ended up in someone’s else body! It was fascinating! Suddenly, his musky forest smell entered my nostrils. How I loved this smell and how I didn’t like so much to be around him later.  Lately, things were growing awkward between us. This single thought made my heartbeat in the pace of uneasiness. I breathed deeply, but it wasn’t a good idea, because more of his scent just entered my lungs, making me slightly intoxicated.  Soon, his strong arms were wrapped around me, “Luna mine, I want to talk to you.” His voice was softer, none of the bitterness or anger he reflected the other day, could be heard. “Yes,” I replied, putting my book down and looking at him. He cupped my face more gently than I thought he could, his green eyes looking intently at mine. “The other day... I don’t want to go too hard on you or scare you. Having you afraid of me. That’s all that I don’t want, Luna Mine. I’m sorry for frightening you when the only thing I want is to love you, make you feel safe, happy, and beloved.” He said. A smile stretched on my face. My lovely mate was back.  “I think we should talk more about things, in general...” I replied, and he nodded caressing my cheek with his thumbs.  “We should.” He agreed.  That was quite good, Sarah told me that for very dominant wolves, like my Richard, step back was very hard. He was making an effort. “I am also sorry, Richard. I should have told you that I was going to the Human Realm. Honestly, I only could think about Nema at that moment. I made you so worried, I’m sorry for that.”  I told him.  I understood that he was worried sick about me when I didn’t show up or said anything. When I was unreachable. Especially taking that last time I was in the Human Realm I was abducted by that horrible vampire. I hope that said vampire wasn’t at large anymore, I should ask Alexus about it.  “Yes, you should have.” Richard replied with a sharp exhale, “I have something for you, to show you.” He added, taking my hand.  Another smile of excitement curled my lips, as my wolf scooped me up in his arms and took me out of the room. He took me to a beautiful garden, on a patio, inside the castle. It was incredible, the most beautiful garden I have seen in this Realm. A little fountain and a working desk in the middle under a small wooden canopy, around it, rolls and rolls of flower buds only waiting for the right time to blossom.  “I asked some wolves to arrange a new garden for you. It has this little table where you can work with your flowers.” He showed me.  I giggled and wrapped my arms around his broad torso, pressing my head against his chest.  “Thank you, my love!” I muttered as I basked in his delicious scent and his warmness.  He was indeed trying.  My Wolf tilted my chin up and leaned down taking my lips with his in a passionate kiss. After a couple more kisses, I started to inspect the buds carefully and take some notes about them already thinking about the new balms and elixirs I could create, while Richard kept me company.  “Tomorrow we have a meeting with the alphas of the 12 packs like we have every year,” Richard told me.  “We? Am I invited too?” I asked.  I was still getting familiar with the political system of this Realm. So far, I have only worked with the omegas and tried to improve their situation.  “Of course, you are my Luna, my Queen. You are more than invited to all meetings, you can and should rule by my side.” He replied. I smiled at him. I was so excited to get to know more about the Realm and the Alphas, how the packs work. “I don’t really know how I could help you right now, but I would love to be there and get to know everything,” I replied.  He took a few steps in my direction, closing the distance between us and taking my face between his big and callous hands.  “You will learn fast, and you can take as many new tasks and responsibilities as you want, taking your time.” He replied.  I was still starting, but I have a feeling I would really enjoy ruling by his side. Doing this together. In this aspect, about my Luna Queen position, he was very open to listening to me.  The matter was different when it came down to his possessiveness, especially in what was related to Alexus.  Alexus was his darkness. But I knew that our love and its light would win. It had to.
