Hoping we dont end like this?

It felt like hours being held up in the bathroom. It's really only been 20 minutes? You haven't heard anything? Charlie? Please.... Hayden said panicking. Shhhhhhhhhh .....they haven't engaged yet. They said they were gonna sneak up behind the Muerte. They are probably scoping the area trying to figure out their best move against it. We have to stay quiet chick. I have to be able to hear them. Ok? Everything will be fine. Calm down girl. Charlie said trying to calm her down. She could hear Hayden's heart beat accelerate. They stayed quiet and Charlie finally heard the beginning of the fight. 

Xavier and Devlin were hiding behind the building across the street where they first seen the Muerte. He was closer to the apartment now but he was still staring up at the kitchen window. The closer they got the more they could hear the thing mumbling. They moved behind the SUV. The thing didn't hear them, if it did it didn't acknowledge them. They started to make our what it was saying. "Kill the human, drink all her blood" I can smell those wolves, I'll kill them too. And that bastard who killed my brother, Devlin your mine" the thing kept repeating it over an over. Do you know who that is? Xavier whispered low enough that only Devlin could hear him. He had already shifted back to human form an he only had Devlin's shirt wrapped around his privates. No.... He doesn't look familiar but I've killed a lot of Muertes. I could have killed his brother? I don't know. The thing was still staring up at the apartment mumbling. We need to make our move. I'll go to his left and you go to his right, soon as you get on him rip his throat out and I'll rip his heart out. Devlin explained. Xavier shifted back to his wolf form an Devlin said quietly, on the count of  3 okay....... 1...2.....3. They both quietly ran up on it, Devlin to the left an Xavier to the right. The Muerte turned at the last minute and showed it's fangs. He turned to late... Xavier jumped up and ripped his throat out.  The Muerte grabbed at his throat but all that came away was blood an tendons. Devlin punched through its chest grabbed a hold of his heart and ripped with everything he had. The Muertes eyes went blank an it collapsed. Xavier shifted back to human form an grabbed the shirt off the ground to wrap around him. Devlin looked at him an said, we have to burn the body an the heart separately. There are some pants in the back of the SUV..... Get them an put them on. Devlin took a metal trashcan an threw the heart in it. He grabbed some lighter fluid out of the back of the SUV an dumped it in the trashcan. Xavier threw him a lighter an he lit the trashcan on fire. They did the same with the body. It was a big pile of ash in the bottom of the trashcan when they were done. Damn, now that was an adrenaline rush man! Xavier shouted. Yeah, I didn't think it would be that easy. It seemed way to easy. Devlin said looking around. I don't smell anymore of them around, they smell awful, like rotten meat or something. Xavier growled. Devlin just shook his head and smiled. I hope I don't smell like that. Devlin stated with a laugh. No you smell like rich soil or something. It's not a bad smell. Specially not mixed with that expensive ass cologne you wear. Xavier smiled. I'm glad no one seen us. It's 11:15a.m. You would think people would be out and about this time of the day. Devlin said looking around. Well It's not a busy street in New York. Most people are at work at this time of day. Xavier replied. Well man, let's go get our women, they are probably thinking we are hurt or worse..... Dead. Devlin said walking towards the apartment. Yea, I'm pretty sure Charlie heard everything... So she probably told Hayden we are ok by now. Xavier said following him into the elevator.

Charlie told Hayden to come on and she ran to open the apartment door. Devlin strolled in an ran up to Hayden picking her up an holding her in a protective embrace. Xavier picked Charlie up and gave her a passionate kiss. I told you we would kill that motherfucker! Xavier laughed. I'm so glad you guys are ok! Charlie yelled. Yeah I was worried sick. Hayden exclaimed. Baby I told you we would be fine. Xavier an I make a awesome team! Devlin explained how they took the Muerte out. Hayden was amazed at how easy they seemed to kill it. Charlie was excited about it. She said she couldn't wait until Xavier trained her. I want that excitement! She said to Xavier. That's my girl! Xavier yelled. Hayden just gave Devlin a "see what I mean" kind of look. I know beautiful. We will wait until we get home. Until we get you to OUR home. Devlin corrected himself. Hayden just buried her face in his chest and breathed as sigh of relief. He was ok. The whole time she was in the bathroom she was hoping that they would make it through this ordeal. Hoping we don't end like this.... With the Muerte getting through that door an killing everyone she loved. She had faith in them it was just hard to think positive when in her past nothing but bad came to her. Everything was looking up for her now. She won the lawsuit, Devlin had found her, she fell in love and her an her best friend was moving to Sistersville Lake to start their new lives. I'm so happy Devlin. I can't wait to start out lives together. Hayden said bringing her arms up around his neck. I love you beautiful. You ready to get this stuff in the SUV and start out journey back. Hayden looked at him and smiled. That was answer enough for him. 

Xavier and Devlin only had to make three trips to the SUV to load their stuff. They really are leaving everything behind! Xavier said. Yep they said they just needed a few things. There is really no reason to bring all the furniture and other stuff because our places already have everything. Devlin explained. True but I just figured they would want to at least being all their clothes..... You know how women are. Xavier said laughing. Yeah that's true too.... But they also love shopping. Devlin laughed. 

An hour later they were on the road. Xavier was driving with Charlie up front with him an Devlin and Hayden were in the back laying down. You guys wanna have a party when we get home? Xavier asked. Yeah sounds great! Charlie exclaimed. They planned the party and planned to invite the whole pack. There is one place I would like to stop on the way home if you guys don't mind. Devlin asked. Where? Hayden questioned. There is a nice strip mall about 30 miles from here. I'll put it in the GPS. Devlin said stretching up front to put the info in. Girls you can go into the clothing store. Xavier and I need to take care of something. Devlin said making eye contact in the mirror with Xavier. Xavier looked confused. I'll let you know when we get there man. Devlin stated. 45 minutes later they pulled up to the strip mall. Devlin gave Hayden a kiss an told her to go get some clothes. Charlie walked up to Xavier and asked what was going on. Xavier explained to her he really didn't know. She gave him a kiss and they went into the clothing store. The guys waited until the girls were out of sight and Devlin turned to Xavier. I'm going to ask Hayden to marry me. Devlin said. Xavier patted him on the shoulder. That's awesome man. I'm happy for you. I wanted to ask Charlie too. Xavier said. Well how about we do it at the same time. We will stop up the road at the lake and do it there. Devlin said.  Sounds like a plan. Xavier replied. They walked into the jewelry store. It was a high end place. The clerk behind the counter smiled soon as he seen them come in.It's been a long time Devlin! What brings you in today? The man said. Hello Bentley. How have you been? Devlin asked.  You know, same ole same ole, can't complain.Bentley replied. I'm asking my girlfriend to marry me today and .......so is he. Devlin said clapping Xavier on the shoulder. Well I'll show you what we have. Are you just looking for engagement rings or you want the whole set? We want the whole set. Devlin replied. The jeweler brought out a pallet of wedding sets. I want a princess cut the best cut you have with as many carats as you have. Devlin said seriously. The jeweler showed him one with a beautiful princess cut diamond. This one is a 4 carat diamond with 24 karat white gold. The band that goes with it has diamonds all the way around the band. It's $165,898.98 & it comes with the men's band. They also match. Devlin looked it over and imagined it on his beautiful girlfriend. Ok I'll take this one. Devlin said. Xavier was still looking and asked. Do you have a pillow cut diamond? Yes we have one but it's very expensive. Bentley replied. Can I see it? Xavier asked. The jeweler brought it out. It's a 4 carat diamond and 24 karat white gold and the band is wrapped with diamonds just like the one Devlin picked. The reason this one runs so high is because the diamond cut is unique. This one runs at $183,989.98 and it also comes with the men's band to match the jewlerer said. Xavier looked it over and said. This is the one. I'll take it! They paid for their rings and stuck them in their pockets and went to join the girls down at the clothing store. They walked in and the girls were already checking out. Hey babe, I think I went a little overboard. Charlie laughed picking up her 7 bags. I didn't do any better. Hayden said picking up her 10 bags. The men just looked at each other and laughed. Well you guys didn't pack much so it's like starting over anyway. Devlin said taking the bags from her. Xavier took Charlie's bags as well. After climbing back into the SUV Devlin asked them if they would like to see the lake. I would love too! Hayden said. Charlie agreed also. I been wanting to come to the lake for awhile, just never had time too. She explained. When they pulled up the sun was shining on the lake. It looked beautiful. Devlin and Hayden walked to the left around the lake and Xavier took Charlie right of the lake. Devlin took both of Haydens hands in his and turned to face her. You know we haven't known each other very long ...... But.... I. Know.In. My. Heart. That. We belong together .....Forever. He pulled the ring out of his pocket and got down on one knee. Hayden gasped and covered her mouth. Oh my Gosh!!! She exclaimed. Hayden Will YOU Marry Me? YES! Yes! Devlin Yes I will marry you?!!! Hayden yelled and cried. Devlin put the ring on her finger and he kissed her. When he pulled away he hugged her tightly. I love you beautiful. Devlin said. He turned her around to look in the direction of Xavier an Charlie and seen that her best friend was being asked the same thing by her man. She heard Charlie scream loudly. Yes! Xavier picked Charlie up and spun her around. They started walking towards Devlin and Hayden.  Charlie got close and started to run towards Hayden. Hayden ran up and hugged her. Looks like we have two weddings to plan. Hayden said excited. Yeah an two wedding dresses to shop for!!!! Charlie screamed jumping up and down. I can't wait to tell Aunt Lily!!!! She continued on...... Ok ladies are we ready to get back on the road? Devlin asked with a huge smile. I think our women are beyond surprised....and happy!  Xavier stated with a laugh. . Yeah to say the least. Devlin smiled. They all loaded back in the SUV laughing and talking about wedding ideas. 

Ten hours later they pulled into a 5 star hotel. I didn't want to travel any further an be stuck at that shitty motel again. We all know there isn't a nice hotel or motel in the next 40 miles. Devlin said seriously. I'm fine with this place! Hayden said with a laugh. Yeah I don't know why we wouldn't want to stay here. Its a 5 star hotel! We can actually get some comfortable much needed rest. Charlie said. It's just now midnight maybe the bar is still open downstairs so maybe we can still get something to eat. Xavier said. Is that all you think about hun? Food food and more food. Charlie said with a smile leaning in to kiss his cheek. Well......No I think about you and s*x more than I think about food! Xavier said and they all started laughing. I love your crazy ass! We are a match made in heaven! Charlie exclaimed. Ok ok let's go get checked in ladies and gentlemen. Devlin stated. Are you getting hungry handsome?  Hayden asked. A little, not too bad. I'm more tired from driving than anything. I want to go to our room   .. and celebrate our engagement. Devlin said with a wink. Hayden got butterflies in her stomach just thinking about him touching her. I would love that. Hayden said to him with a smile

Xavier decided to grab the rooms this time since Devlin has been nice enough to drive his SUV and get the last rooms. He went to hand them their key cards. I got us both the suites since we are "celebrating our engagement" .... Charlie and I are going to run to the bar real quick , do you guys want anything to eat? Xavier asked. I'm good, but Hayden may want something. Devlin said. Sure, any kind of salad will do. With Ranch or Italian dressing...... Thank you. Hayden said. Our rooms are directly across from each other so we will bring your food up when it's ready. Charlie said. Ok girl, thanks so much. Hayden said giving her a hug. 

Devlin and Hayden went to the door to their room and Devlin inserted the door key into the slot to open the door. They walked in when the light turned green and the locked clicked open. The room was beautiful. It was done in light gray and white. There was a huge bed with a white sheer curtain all the way around it. They had a huge walk in closet and to the right a huge bathroom with a giant Jacuzzi bath tub. To the left of the bed was the little kitchen area, it had a espresso machine and a coffee pot along with a toaster and microwave. It also had a sink and under the sink there was a small refrigerator. Hayden opened it and it was stocked full of little alcohol bottles and red bull with small snacks like cheese and prosciutto. On the bed side table there was an ice bucket full of ice with a bottle of red wine sticking out. Wow! This place is sooooooo nice!  Hayden exclaimed  excitedly. Yea when we were in the jewelry store , Xavier and I googled this place, we made the arrangements when we got the rings. Devlin stated with a smile. After Xavier and Charlie bring your food and you are done eating we are getting that wine and we are going to enjoy that Jacuzzi in there. Devlin said pulling her in for a kiss. Speaking of...... I hear them getting off the elevator now. Devlin said going to the door. He opened the door and Charlie gasp. Oh MY GOD! I hope our room is this beautiful! !!!! She turned to look at Xavier as she said that and he nodded. We are never leaving .She said sarcastically. They all laughed. Xavier handed Hayden her food. Ok Guys have fun... We are going to go enjoy our room! Xavier said with a wink. Devlin shut the door and went into the bathroom to start the water while Hayden was eating. 

15 minutes later Hayden came into the bathroom and brushed her teeth. Devlin was already in the Jacuzzi waiting on her. . Take those clothes off and come here. Devlin said with a grin. Hayden did as he said, she pulled her clothes off and tossed them to the floor. She climbed in and straddled his lap. Damn beautiful you are so hot! I love when your body is against mine.
