Chapter 18

Alexa's POV

We finally arrive at the FBI headquarters for Criminal Justice in Clarksburg, West Virginia after 4 hours drive. The area was so large, and he main building it self design in modular. Agent Gray waiting for us in the entrance door of the main building.

He gave a pound shake to Jack once they met each other. I can tell they were very closed.

" Rough way hah?" he asked Jack.

" Not really." He said smiling.

" Hi Alexa. Nice to meet you again." he greet me and shake my hand.

" Nice too meet you too Agent Gray" I greet him.

" You can call me Sam." He said whispering.

" Okay" I smile.

" Please followed me." I followed him inside the Fbi building, passing security clearance, took the elevator and finally we enter a room.

The room was about 8x 10 feet large, 2 tone colours walls, not to bright with a big mirror in one side of the wall. I'm sure it's two sided mirror. And then there was a table with cuff bar in the centre of the room and 3 chair next to the table. And of course a camera in 2 top corner. I assume it was an interrogation room.

I exhale. Here we are.

" Please sit down Alexa" Sam told me to take a seat. I took a seat on a chair Sam offered me, near the cuff bar, but he didn't cuff me on the table.

" Do you want something to drink or eat? " Sam asked me.

" Thank you Sam, but I'm good. We just eat" I answer him. Jack and I have our lunch in our way. We stop by at the fast food drive thru. We want to minimize bad things that might happen if we stop.

" Okay, we will leave you for awhile Alexa" Sam told me.

I looked at Jack. I'm not sure if I'll be okay if I left alone. I don't know the place, and there was an FBI agent trying to killed me few days ago.

" It's alright. You'll be fine, nothing to worry. You are save here" Jack told me

" I'll be back okay " he said as he rub on my shoulder and bow himself to make his height same as mine. I nodded. I believe him.

Sam clear his throat and Jack release his Hand on my shoulder. And then they walked out of the room.

I don't know what to do while waiting for them to came. They took my backpack and search on my clothes while I enter the building. So I just sat quietly, playing with my nails, looking around the room and the mirror, and thinking, were they looking at me, right now, in the other side of the room? I felt bored to death.

I wasn't sure how long I wait for them to came back to me. Probably 3-4 hours when Jack, Sam and a man finally came in to the room.

The other man was older and I assumed he was Jack and Sam's supervisor on how they treat him.

" Miss Carter or shloud I say Miss Monroe, I'm Supervisor Pearson." he said introduce him self.

"Agent Hampton and Agent Gray already told me about you and what happen to you in the past." he said to me and I listen.

" We will put you under witness protection for Frank Welch case for threatening you and Maximilian Davis to do robberies. " he said.

So my status is a witness right now. Thank goodness! I was so glad to hear that.

" Thank you Mr. Pearson." I said in relieved.

" We need you to record your testified after this. " he said again and I nodded.

" And for your other case.... " he said as he move forward to me. Which other case? Robbery? Will they prosecute me?

" Are you sure you want to witness against Xaverius Black and exposes everything you know? That would included your own tape Miss Monroe."

I exhaled. I know it must be hard for me. But I have to do it.

" Yes, Mr. Pearson. I will do that. What ever to take to put that man in jail and gave him his punishment. " I said in my determination. I had decide to go for it.

" Alright then, we can reopen the case and prepared for Mr. Xaverius Black Arrestment." he said to Jack and Sam. Both Jack and Sam looked relieved, they finally can reopen the case, and so did I.

" I want you two to take the case and prepare for the paper. While I will assign Agent Kelly Hill to ascorted Miss Monroe. " Mr Pearson said.

" Yes, sir "both Jack and Sam said in unison.

Then Mr. Pearson left the room.

" I'll be outside " Sam told Jack and Jack nodded.

Jack clear his throat and sit opposite me.

" Jack." I call him

" Alexa... You choose the right thing." He said.

" What happen next?" I asked him

" Well, agen Hill will be here with you," he said looking at me.

" What about you?" I asked him, looking at him too.

" I have to prepare your case. But I'll be around." he said smiling.

" Just answer everything honest and tell all that you know about your case. " he said.

And then a red hair woman with a neat suit came in to the room.

" Jack" she greet Jack.

" Kelly" Jack greet him back. Jack stood up from his chair.

So this is agent Kelly Hill. She was about 5 feet 6 inches, and she looked a bit firm.

" So you are Alexandra Carter Aka Julie Monroe?" she asked me directly without taking a seat.

" Yes" I answer her.

" I'm agent Kelly Hill. We will do some process in other room, will you followed me?" she asked me.

"Sure" I said as I stand up and followed her. I took a glance at Jack as I walked out of the room to other room.

I'm running some interrogations and medical check Up for few hours. We only take a break for diner, which they already prepare my diner. I was tired after a long ride and than this, but I know I had to do it.

Jack and Sam were there during few hours of interview to asked me about the case. But it was all formal and tiring. And then after a few hour, I believe it was almost midnight, they transfered me to a house and put me to a witness protection by the US Marshal.

Agent Kelly accompany me during my handover to US Marshal. She gave me some clothes for me to wear, because I'll be here for I don't know how long and I don't bring too much clothes on my run.

" Agent Hill, may I asked you a question?" I asked her.

" Call me Kelly. And Yes, what do you want to know Alexa, may I called you Alexa?" she asked me.

" Yes, please call me Alexa." I said.

" Do you know where is Agent Hampton and agent Gray?" I asked her

" Sam and Jack is dealing with some paper work and investigation to re-open your old case. It will take some times to collect new evidence to re-open the case. " She said

" But don't worry Alexa, you have US Marshals to guard you, even Sam and Jack are not here. " she told me. So Jack or Sam won't be here to protect me. I was a little bit disappointed. I guess I get used to Jack to protect me.

" It was their Job to protect witnesses, so you'll be safe" She told me.

I thank Kelly for her help before she handover me to US Marshal.

The house was not bad, they provided everything that I need and it was guard 24 hours with security camera and security door lock.

There always an interrogation every day, sometimes Mr. Pearson came by to asked me some question and to check on me. Days become weeks. Weeks become months. Almost two months I had been under US Marshals witness protection.

The media broadcast about Frank Welch case as the man behind jewellery thief, the trial will be the day after tomorrow. But they still don't mention about the witnesses name.

Frank also been investigate under bribery to several powerful man base on the ledger book that I stole from him. And the investigation is still on going.

And re-opened the serial teenager murder case, been in the headline thru the nation because it drag the name of senator Gregory Black's son, Xaverius Black, which arrested by the fed few days ago. I saw Jack and Sam in the TV been asked about the case progress. But the media didn't know yet what new evidence that the fed have to put Xaverius Black in jail. I followed up the news on TV and other media.

I was reading in my room when Jean Lambert, one of the US Marshal agent came to my room.

" Alexa, there is 2 FBI agent want to see you to talked about the case." Jean Lambert, told me. FBI agent? Could it be Jack and Sam?

" Sure, I'll be right there." I told Jean.

I fix my dress and take a look at the mirror for awhile before I went outside my room and saw Jack and Sam there.

I was surprised to see them. It's been awhile I haven't seen them.

" Jack! Sam!" I was so happy to see them coming and about to hugged them, but it was going to be awkward with all the Marshal and formalities around, so I just shake their hands.

" How are you Alexa?" Sam asked me

" I'm fine Sam." I answer him

" How are you two?" I asked them.

" We are fine. Still doing the case. Hopefully the case will be in court few weeks from now." Sam explained.

" Great. And how are you Jack?" I asked Jack which not talking from the time he came in.

" I'm fine Alexa." he said looking at me. And I was looking at him.

" Please seat down" I told them as I sat in a sofa. Jack and Sam sat in the sofa near me, while Jean stand up by my side. She was very protective as it was her job to protect me.

" So, what case do you want to talked about? " I asked them both.

" Jean, can I have a coffee?" Sam asked Marshal Jean.

" Sure," she said. And then she walked to the kitchen

" I will help you, while they can talked about the case" Sam said to Marshal Jean. And then Sam go with her to the kitchen, not far from the living room.

" Alexa.." Jack called me. He hold his back neck with his right hand. " Are you ready with the court?" he asked me.

" I think so. The attorney already told me what to do." I said. The attorney came few times to prepare for the case.

" And he said that Kate will testified too. Is that right?" I asked him. Kate was also a witness to the case against Frank Welch, she was the hostage.

" Yes, she is under protection too with all her family. " he explained.

" Oh, I'm glad she is okay." I said.

" So, where were you? Why don't you come?" I asked him why he never came to see me.

" I have to prepare the case for you. But I know you are in a good hand. The US marshals is very good in witness protection. " he said.

Ya, I know that. I guess I just want to see you. Gosh. Seriously? I don't know why I feel that.

" Will you be in the court?" I asked him.

" Ya, I'll be there. I'm the one who arrest him, right? " he said and gave small laugh.

" Right. " I said. How am I forget that. He was with me when he arrested frank.

" So, you'll be testified too? " I asked him

" Ya, I hope we can put him in jail." he said

" Do you still have bad dreams?" he asked me.

" Sometimes, but not every night." I said, sighed.

I still have the bad dream sometimes. I guess it won't stop until I put him in jail.

And he move slightly closer to me

" It will be over soon Alexa. You will put him in jail." he said as he hold my hand. I feel like an electric shocked spread from my hand to all my nerves. I looked at him in surprised, and he looked at me at the same time. I release his hand imediately.

What happen? Why I feel this when he touch my hand? It never happen before.

" Ya.. I hope so." I said as I looked down. Did he feel it? Or it was just me?

" Well, have you done talking the case?" Sam asked us and Jean came with him.

" Ya, we were just finished," Jack said as he stand up. And I followed him stand up.

" Alexa, I... I have to go now, good luck and I'll see you in the court." he said.

" Okay Jack, you too. I'll see you soon. " I said smiling.

" bye Alexa, take care" Sam said as he shake my hands.

They turned around and walked outside as Jean walked them to the door.

I walked inside my bedroom, and lay my self in my bed. I feel awkward to talked to him and the electric shocked, what was that?

I've been waiting for him to come to see me and I'm glad that he came, even for awhile. I'm not sure what I feel about him, but I know we shouldn't have any feeling between us, because he is an FBI agent and I'm the witness. And I could be a suspect for some robbery too.

Jean open my bedroom door.

" Are you okay?" she asked me.

" Ya, I think I need some rest." I said

" Okay, I'll be here" she said

" Okay, Thanks Jean." I replied

And she closed the door.
